Wilderness Warbands Guide

Helpful site: http://warbandtracker.com/

QuoteWilderness Warbands are a Distraction&Diversion in RuneScape. Approximately every 7 hours a warband wave will start and warband camps will appear in one of three random locations in the wilderness on every RuneScape world. Players must fight off each other and the warband camp NPC's to loot supplies from the camp. The supplies can then be exchanged for large amounts herblore, farming, construction, mining or smithing experience. At level 90 you will get more than 100k experience for doing one warband event and you can do up to 3 events per day. You can also receive experience in the summoning, prayer and slayer skills by interacting with the summoning beam and fighting off the warband general.

-Warband Tracker Introduction

Requirements

None, but there is a few you might want to follow.

First of all, every Warbands team has their own host rules. The owner of the friends chat is called the "host" of the warbands team and his orders and the ranks of the friends chat must be followed to have a smooth and efficient Warband. Simply follow the orders of the ranked members and the host and you will teach yourself the basics in no time at all. Some of the most common rules in a Warbands include:

- All white dots are KOS(Kill-on-site).
- Do not kill FC members that have the required gear(this is called backstabbing).
- Do not leech from the camp, help kill the NPC's.
- Do not go to another world that is not called by the host or ranked member.
- Do not attack the person who gets the Wand of Treachery(a reward from Warbands)

Gear

Most friends chats require a certain kind of gear or tier of gear and good food, this is what the Warband Tracker website says about gear requirements.

QuoteEach FC can have its own custom rules but generally you are required to have a helmet, body and legs armour piece as well as a good weapon. The minimum for magic is batwing armour (level 50) and a polypore staff is recommended (the minimum is a level 70 staff). Ranged users should bring royal dragonhide (with a batwing hood or ganodermic visor) and a black salamander/hand cannon/royal crossbow. Black dragonhide is allowed but it's less powerful armour and not much cheaper. Melee users should have at least adamant armour and a godsword. Bringing extra gear (amulets, gloves, rings,...) is encouraged but not required.
You should have a decent amount of high-healing food. It is recommended to bring a Beast of Burden so you can temporarily store your food while carrying the supplies back from the camp. It's also a good idea to bring a prayer potion or super restore.

What kind of goals do you go for during a Warband?

The goal of Warbands for most players is to achieve 75/75 resources(25 resources can be looted from each camp, 3 in total each day) Even though you're looting valuable materials in the wilderness you have a whole team backing you up in the fight so there is little to no danger unless a whole other team comes and attacks, this gives the D&D the name "Warbands". Even though you might not seek the experience you have the ability to sell the resources from the camps  to players. This isn't possible during the 1st and 2nd camps but on the last camp you may sell your resources to a player for serious amount of gp(60-70k each). Since the resources are not tradeable the player would have to kill you in the wilderness and then pay after so beware of scammers.

How do I get apart of a Warbands Team?

That is a rather diffcult question, infact it took me over a week to get into a warbands friends chat and the only solution I have is joining "Warbands 1" friends chat and searching for one a hour or two before Warbands starts or waiting till 30 minuites before the Warbands starts and look on http://warbandtracker.com/ for a open chat. After you find a good team you may continue to using that friends chat or look for a better one. What you want to search for is a friends chat that is very serious about Warbands and has a strong anti-pk team. This will make sure you do not die or get crashed at a camp(s).

Locations of Camps

Abbreviations and Travel

RDI - Red Dragon Isle
- Games Necklace if you have completed Summers End.
- Wilderness Canoe.

ELM - East of Lava Maze
- Wilderness Canoe.
- Games Necklace if you have completed Summers End.

DWF - Dark Warrior Fortress
- Walking west from Quercus.

The purpose of the abbreviations is they're commonly used in friends chats to say the locations of camps.

How exactly is a Wilderness Warbands done?

At the start of the event the host or ranked member will announce the first world, he will also say who is the qh(Quick-hop). The qh is a person you add and select the option of "Join" on your friends list by right-clicking his name, this will instantly change your world to theirs. Then they will announce the location for example ELM. Then you will head to the location and participate in the NPC fight, There will be 3 separate soldiers and one captain. You will start off by killing the soldiers first then proceed to attacking the captain. After that is finished you are free to loot from whatever resources are obtainable in the camp. After you're complete you will have to walk all the way back to the Grand Exchange where Quercus is and turn in the resources for experience. Then the host will continue announcing the other two worlds and locations. Beware on how fast you complete camps, each camp has a maximum life of 20 minutes if the beam is succeeded right and not interrupted/destroyed, if not the camps might last as little as 10 minutes.

Note: If you log off during the warband all your resources will be destroyed.

I hope this is very helpful to you and gives you a better understanding on how Warbands works.

Thing i'd like to add is that the minimum is not batwing but 60+ def gear unless melee which is 55+
In addition a great fc which i recommend is "reg warbands" which I am a rank in, it is really organized and well run
