myVariable=Pre-Clan Days It was around July of 2003. The Wilderness Guardians had never been spoken of, and His Lordship had not yet pressed his feet against the damp earth of Runescape. The large PKing clans of the time, including Damage Incorporated and the Runescape Dinasty, had long been excerting their force upon the wilderness. It was at this time that The Sabres sat on the antiRPKing throne, alone. It was them that brought forth the seed of antiRPKing as we know it, and later in that year, the Wilderness Guardians would bear it and nurture it into the concept we all know today. While the Sabres, in all their pride, strived to challenged PKers, they were unable to expand the concept of antiRPKing. This July, a small boy by the name of John, adopted the alias of Lord Xin, and took his first steps in Lumbridge. A few weeks later, Lord Xin brought Runescape to another member of his family, His Lordship. His Lordship was like every other new Runescaper, lacking the knowledge of the game and the levels to back it up. Having ventured into the wilderness several times to explore, to only meet inevitable doom, His Lordship decided that dying for no reason was unfair, and the wilderness was only a place that reaped evil in the form of bullying. Being a witness to several PKers name calling, backstabbing, and threatening, His Lordship decided to take action. Interesting Facts: * His Lordship did not choose his name because he was expecting to run a clan. It was a name chosen by Lord Xin, which stuck, and His Lordship now regrets choosing it, as it makes him sound arrogant. First Days His Lordship, full of blind ambition, began his clan with a single post on Rune Village, titled “Read This If You Hate PKers”. At this time, His Lordship believed all PKers were bad, and did not realize the hypocritical nature of his intentions: to PK PKers. The post was reproduced several times because it was locked due to high levels of flaming. Nobody at the time expected the Wilderness Guardians to last for more than a few days. The very first explanation of antiRPKing was explained in this document, as a rebellion against all those who killed innocents; innocents being non-PKers. AntiRPKing has since changed.AntiRPKers and the Wilderness Guardians now recognize the importance of PKers in the wilderness. The clan clock began ticking on December 6, 2003, as WG received 30 members over 48 hours. The clan was only a success because the idea of antiRPKing was brand new. Had the idea not been original and popular, WG would not have succeeded. The first site was an AvidGamers site, and hosted our first members, who averaged level 35. On day three Sum41xx was appointed leader, because he posted the most. The first raid happened on an Australian winter morning, at 8am, which was a mild summer night for the Americans. We lined up in a straight line outside Falador west bank. Our clan smither, Docster, was capable of producing full steel armour. Most of our clan members unable to produce their own armour, we entered the wilderness in full steel armour, taking steel two handed swords (Remember, this was Runescape Classic). Having no food, our members began picking the cabbages at the monastery. We traveled up to level 4 wilderness above Edgeville, where half our clan died to a level 40 PKer in adamant armour. That raid had 7 people present, and lasted for no longer than 15 minutes, and we ventured nowhere above level 15. It is now a tradition for the clan to simulate this first raid on the clan’s Anniversary. It was at this time that our famous Rule 1 was set down. Under no circumstances is a member of this clan allowed to kill a non skulled player. INTERESTING FACTS: *Clan name was originally the PK PK's, which changed to The Wilderness Guardians. A name His Lordship would later regret. If only he had let someone else pick the name... * Cape color wasn't decided. WildGuard went through many colors and decided upon purple, which symbolized cleansing, which was exactly what WG tried to do to the wilderness. Avidgamers Days The clan, having helped its smither, Docster, work hard to make the armour which it so easily surrendered to PKers, finally upgraded to mithril one day. Docster had made a breakthrough in his smithing and as a result, the clan shed itself of full steel. WG now proudly marched out to the 20th level of the wilderness in their new blue armour, only to meet inescapable doom. The clan events at the time were only raids, and occured once a week. These usually consisted of 5 to 6 people. Regardless of WildGuard's contant failure, we were an incredibly close-knit clan at the time, and were more than happy to give our lives to save the others. Those who remember it, are quite fond of those times. The clan was not at all success driven, but driven by the bonds of friendship and a cause they all would die for. Sum41xx, secondary leader of the Wilderness Guardians, became inactive, and passed out of leadership. Rick Hamm was appointed as secondary leader, right after the clan anniversa, and has been with the Wilderness Guardians ever since. Persistent campaigns and the rephrasing of antiRPKing led to the inflow of more members, as WG started to climb closer and closer to the dream of 100 members. Little did they know that most of these people were inactive. Perhaps only 25 people in the clan were active. To accommodate the increasing member count, the leadership sat down and wrote a document entitled THE RAID PROCEDURES. It was an official statement about raids, which would be used forevermore. It clearly set in stone, WG's policy against aggressive PKing of non-PKers. The leadership, almost two years on, still remain faithful to this document. It was a Tuesday. It was in the morning in Western Australia, when His Lordship checked his Rune Village recruitment topic. Below it was a reply from one named Mortus Sabre. It was two sentences long. From His Lordship's semi-reliable memory, it went something like: "Finally, a clan with morals. You have the support of the Sabres" It is still not know today what the post really implied, but His Lordship took it as an invitation to start an alliance. He jumped upon this straight away. And, like the Sabres were the first clan in Runescape, they were also the first ally of the Wilderness Guardians, who joined the Federation, a large group of clans united against scamming and RPKing. Mortus Sabre and His Lordship remain good friends. Through the Federation, the Wilderness Guardians extented their alliances to the other participating clans, those being the Knights of Death, and the Royal Kingdom of Asgarnia. The Knights of Death never accepted the alliance request, so the alliance with them was somewhat one sided. Soon, The Council of Dragons joined the Federation, and became an ally of the Wilderness Guardians. They would have been the most powerful ally of the time. Unfortunately the alliance died along with communication with the Council of Dragons. It was a year later that His Lordship finally dropped it. Finally we had achieved that 100 member mark. It was February of 2004 now, and the clan had been existent for two months. We invited all our allies and had a rune drop party worth about 500k in total. Only 9 or 10 Wildguard members showed up. The green Halloween mask was picked up by a level 22, who later joined the clan and quit Runescape a week later. This was really a miniature version of the Clan's First Anniversary, which was approximately 20 million gp in funding. For the first time in Runescape history, thanks to the Sabres and Wilderness Guardians, antiRPKing finally started to make its mark. People were starting to recognize the two clans as unique. Our Avidgamers days ended alongside the introduction of Runescape 2. With the new Runescape 2 out, the clan for a change, stopped being those who were hunted. It became the hunters. It was a remarkable turn around. Everything changed, when, for the first time, probably ever, a solo PKer would flee from the clan. This was March 2004, and our increasing confidence allowed us to venture so far as to level 30 wilderness. It was the beginning of the metamorphosis from PKer bait, into true guardians and protectors of the weak and innocent. A year on, and the leader, His Lordship, ponders on these days. How fragile we were. To have over 200 active clan members a year down the track, with an average level more than twice that of March 2004, was completely beyond him at the time. INTERESTING FACTS * The first 10 Wilderness Guardians (in no particular order): Quigleyr123 (Quit) , Rockerpunk (Quit), Anincent (Former Secondary Leader and Current Member), His Lordship (Current Leader), Docster (Quit), Sum41xx(Quit and returned), Unknownbeing (Quit), Drinin2 (Quit), Flame Reece (Current Moderator), Lord Xin (Returns and leaves periodically) * Clan was planning to divide into an RS1 clan and an RS2 clan * His Lordship made a movie about the clan on Newgrounds. He now regrets it and considers it to be a piece of rubbish. He considers his second movie to be far greater. * His Lordship made a game called PK pets. It was a virtual PKer who you had in a cage and could starve, feed, torture or play with. Veterans still have access to it. S7 Days At the suggestion of Rick Hamm, the clan moves from Avidgamers to the Invisionfree forums. The first forums were the s7.infisionfree.com forums. Following this forum switch, WG receives its first large inflow of members, recruiting over 50 new members in a single week. This is the second largest inflow of members in Wildguard history At this time, Falco307, a clan member, bribed his way up to a high rank, and soon attempted a mutiny in which he tried to convince WG that he was their new leader and throw His Lordship out of leadership. Before any serious harm was done, His Lordship banned him from WG along with his accomplice Jedi Rin. For over a year a bounty stood for them. Now, Falco is a loyal member of the clan, having made a fresh start. As April of 2004 approached, and the clan was well over the 100 member mark, His Lordship officially recognised the notion of clan veterans, who were members who had joined during the avidgamers phase of the clan. The recognition of veterans is important to WG. Having started out weak as you will have seen, with only 10 loyal members, four of which would attend events weekly, the clan could have very well died. To have faith in a clan in its weakest points is a display of true loyalty. Thus, WG rewards those members who saw potential in the clan early on and helped bring it to glory rather than just join while the clan was strong. The first major crisis of the clan occured at this time. Eragon CD left WG to start his own clan The Synergy. A few people, disappointed in WG, left to join the Synergy. A snowball effect occurs where more people begin leaving the clan to join the Synergy, and what started out as 6 members, soon became 15, then 30. In two weeks the Synergy had already become half as strong as WG. His Lordship tries to negotiate the allowance of double clanning between the two clans to help restore numbers to WG. A fight initiates and WG and the Synergy become enemy antiRPK clans. For three or four long months, through the middle of 2004, hostility between the two clans heightens, and no attempt to resolve the conflict is made. The two clans grow more and more distant. It was in July that His Lordship commissioned the creation of a new website for the clan in addition to the clan forums. wildernessguardians.com was constructed by His Lordship. The templated version is used for over a year, before His Lordship rebuilds the website using Flash. In this site, was contained the clan's Photo Archive, showing WG's growth and progress over the years. Almost a week after the website was created, we attracted the attention of the Scorpions, whose leader at the time, Lady Naomi, offered an alliance with us, which we accepted. The Scorpions were our first non-antiRPK ally The general maturity levels of the clan started to erode, following the forum switch to Invisionfree, mostly due to the new members. General fights were breaking out, and instead of looking toward growth, the leadership, which consisted of Rick Hamm and His Lordship, directed their attention toward healing the wounds caused by these fights, thus restricting the clan's growth. There was also an obvious need to create an event for the increasing European population of WG, and so a new raid was created on the free worlds to address this need. The clan now had two raids operational. Realising the clan has been going for 8 or 9 months now without requirements, the first requirements are set in place, consisting only of 60 combat or higher. Having worn mithril as the standard armour, the clan now makes adamant armour the standard armour for raids. INTERESTING FACTS: * At this time four clans broke out of WG including the Synergy. 3 of them were PKing clans, the Synergy was antiRPKing. The AntiRPKing clan was the only one to last. * Two subfactions of the clan were created. Hydro and Pryo. Another brilliant Lordship scheme that never worked. * His Lordship is hacked, slowing down the clan's progress, as he cannot conduct raids or events. Early S4 days The s7 forums, being so poorly kept with many inactive members and spam, fast declined into a place not worthy of use. A forum switch was authorised and the clan moved from s7.invisionfree.com, to s4.invisionfree.com, known in short, as the s4 forums. The clan, at this time about 200 members large, is reduced to a mere 80 in the switch. Following the arrival of the new forums, came a definitive definition of the functionality of the wilderness and in particular, antiRPKing. The thesis was highly regarded by the community, but contained numerous flaws. It has since been rewritten. Again, WG becomes subject to a large wave of incoming members, boosting the memberlist by an additional 40 people. Finally, after almost a year, the clan officially recognises rune as the main raiding armour, however many people continue to bring adamant armour due to their lack of funds. Then, one of the greatest diplomatic moves the clan has ever made, was initiated. His Lordship and Eragon CD sat down, spoke, and overcame their differences. Both being so similar, the clans formed an alliance, and shared the European raid together. In an act of democracy, a clan census was held in order to see what had become of the clan. With no websites such as RS-Clans at the time, the census was the best way of finding out vital clan statistics, such as the average level. We found it to be 75, while raids were yielding approximately 15 people each, and the average age of the clan was a shockingly low 14.5 years. With increased demaind for raids, Wildguard did something truly unique. We created our first p2p multi-combat raid. This was something other clans had not attempted yet, except for FoM and occassionaly DI. Most clans that operated in members wilderness remained within the single combat areas. In its first few weeks these raids only had 10 or so people attend. With members applying non-stop for WG, the requirements had to be raised once more. The new threshold became 70 combat. INTERESTING FACTS: * Alliance with Ghostknights made * Massive upgrades to clan website * Crisis in Sabre clan led to massive changes, including the breaking of all alliances, with WG as one such alliance broken. * Requirements go up to 75 * A large increase in the size of clan events. we begin to become more creative with our events * His Lordship stops leading all raid and gives other players the opportunity to host raids and other events * Brendan reveals to the clan that he has Leukemia * Rick leaves WG to stay with the Synergy, but returns after a few weeks. * Anarchy ambushed a raid, and we declared war on them. THey refused to accept our conditions so we claimed victory by default. Little did we know that this was not a default victory. * Veteran Capes become another bad Lordy Scheme * His Lordship is hacked for a second time Mid-S4 Days The mid s4 days were by far, the most colourful and hectic days of WG to date (This revised version of the history was completed in January 2006). It officially begins with the Rune Outlaws sending WG an email, saying how poor and pathetic the clan is. In retalation, Wildguard declared an official war with RO. this would be our first war. Only a few days after, Slayeroftime, leader of KoD, offers WG a war. Thinking Slayeroftime was a member of the Rune Outlaws, wanting to know the details of the war, His Lordship unknowingly schedules a war with KoD to run at the same time as the RO war. His Lordship only found out later, a few days before the war, but it was too late. KoD was told to delay their war for half an hour, but instead they came early, at the same time as the Rune Outlaws. So on raged a 3 way war, and the Rune Outlaws called for backup and cheated by wandering out of the warzone and wearing a different cape colour. Having been killed, WG exposed the cheating publically and RO was forced to withdraw their recruitment publically due to negative public sentiment. Soon after WG's first war, came the clan anniversary, to celebrate one year of brotherhood. It consisted of 20 events ranging over seven days, with many millions being spent. Prior to our first official anniversary event, a Bronze war with the Sabres and the Synergy was held. KoD attended, bring rune. For the second time in as many weeks, WG exposed a clan as cheaters. Day 1 of the anniversary began only a few hours afterward, with an attendance of over 60 people. Day one was split from the other 6 days and happened a week earlier. Then days 2-6 came. His Lordship fast grew tired due to lack of sleep and became generally grouchy. Day 7 is postponed when His Lordship becomes to tired to continue running anniversary events around the clock. It wasn't at the anniversary where the dramatic events of WG ceased to unfold. Brendan, a clan member of WG, was reported dead due to Leukemia. Wildguard holds a funeral for Brendan over Runescape, at the Rimmington chapel. Soon after, a member of the Rune Outlaws went to the grave site, where we buried Brendan's bones (which we had obtained from him in the wilderness). The RO member insulted Brendan's grave by dancing over it amoung many other things. As a result, WG declares a war against RO once more, this time calling on the public to come and assist WG to avenge Brendan. Fear, a clan that hated WG with a passion, became aware of the tragedy that had befallen WG. Wildguard and Fear often fought each other in the wilderness and there was much hostility between the two clans. However, in light of the circumstance, they dropped their hostility toward WG and so began the alliance between FEAR and WG. The public of Runescape, now aware of the disaster, became more aware of WG, and many members joined in order to support the cause of righteous behaviour. The Rune Outlaws stood for everything a clan was not meant to be. Similar to Fear, the Legends Legion allied WG. Amidst all this chaos, with the death of a friend, two allies and a war, the anniversary finally came to a conclusion with Day 7, a 5 clan steel war. The Sabres, Synergy, Wildguard, Fear and the Legends Legion, all engaged in a large scale war. It never ended. Zeonic Force crashed the war. The very next day, came the day of the war. We gathered a large amount of people from different clans, and the public. Charging the greater demons, the party found nobody. The Rune Outlaws failed to show. The hectic nature of the clan didn't end there. His Lordship, over a Rune Village forum, made a topic about the USA, attacking its political and moral values and attitudes. This causes a massive dispute as the clan divides and many people leave. Noricle, one member who became offended and left, negotiated a way of salvaging the situation, which included the need for His Lordship to temporarily resign as leader so that trust could be re-established. This failed. Soon followed a trend of people leaving, because their friends were leaving. Many left because they saw no future for WG after the tragedy. It became worse, and the clan was left only with its most loyal members. This was how 2005 for WG started. Noricle and Rick Hamm, having left WG, created a clan called the Revolution. The Revolution was the second antiRPKing clan to branch out from WG. In two weeks, the Revolution pulled over 40 members from WG. Late S4 Days The late s4 days were born out of the largest clan war in history. Legends Legion vs Rivendell. It was an allied war. WG fought of the side of LL, which came out victorious. The war, held at the beginning of 2005, has had little competition for the title of largest war. Not even the world wars could fill a server like this war did. For the first time since before the anniversary, His Lordship began admitting people into the clan. The clan received about 40 new members in the first 2 days and the memberlist expands rapidly over the next few weeks. This was the largest member surge in the history of the clan. Finally, after a long while, the requirements once again increase, this time to 80 combat. With The Revolution now a strong, established clan, diplomatic talks were initiated between the leaders of both clans. All negotiations failed. The Revolution and Wildguard remained hostile toward each other. Our old ally, the Ghostknights, disbanded. Their leader, D Distroyer, joined the Wilderness Guardians. Like many clans, it often takes a small problem in the leadership for instability to reign. The Synergy became a victim of internal leadership problems, and several clans broke out of the Synergy, including the Sleeping Dragons and the Death Jesters. To the great joy of the clan, Brendan was discovered to be alive after all. However, this was in early 2005. Nobody has seen him since. The last time we heard from him, he was still sick with Leukemia. The Sabres, absent from our list of allies for many months since they dropped all alliances, were finally approached. Our alliance was restored. Owing to the turbulent times, there was a greater need to lay down a clan history. So, after over a year since the last history was written, a new one took its place. Wildguard, now 200 members large (only 100 of which were active), placed a heavy burden on His Lordship, who was running the clan completely alone. A council was elected, five members large. These people were handpicked my His Lordship, but no record exists of who these five were. March saw the disbanding of The Revolution. Soon WG saw many members returning. Old faces we missed had come back. The clan numbers surged once more, and the membercount arrived at somewhere around 250 registered members. Maturity was on the decline. Hesitant to ban people, His Lordship had attempted negotiations with individuals, seeking to make them more mature. However, the limitations of the internet prevented the message from being taken as seriously as it should have. With more time on his hands, His Lordship created, the second clan Flash Movie. This one, he regards as far superior to the first. For a third time, WG declared an official war against the Rune Outlaws. For a third time, RO violated the war conditions. This would be the last time WG considered a war with RO. Shortly after the introduction of the 80 combat requirement, the clan fast moves toward 85, as mid 2005 was approaching. The long sustained age of peace within WG came to an end when a hacker entered the ranks, taking WG banks one by one. Fearing that the problem was on the forums, another forum switch was set into motion immediately. This would mean the end of the s4 days. Early S10 Days Shortly after the forum switch, one council member, Oaktownrules, left to join the BlacKnights clan. In his place, was elected Terakaern. Terakaern was the first council member to be elected in democratically by the clan rather than simply chosen by His Lordship KoD soon declared war on WG, but the clan turned down the offer. After the offer was rejected, they proposed a war between WG and the KoD Junior clan. This war was accepted. WG won. The KoD juniors fought with honour. This was the first honourable war WG had won by itself and not by default. Now that WG had become a common name in the clan discussions of Runescape, the site was attracting much more attention. Month after month the site would blow its bandwidth limit. There was urgent need for a new host. In the meantime, the Federation is restarted by the main antiRPK clans, the Sabres, The Synergy, Sleeping Dragons, Death Jesters, Retribution and Wildguard. This time round, the Federation is much more active, and often there are joint events. It was mid 2005 when Terakaern introduced the mentor program to WG. With a clan as large as WG it is somewhat easy to become easily confused. With complex systems such as voting systems, many ranks, many forums, procedures for raids and such, mentors offer an easier transition into the clan. The Unbreakables shortly after declared war against WG. Due to a busy scedule, this could not happen for 3 weeks. The days rolled by as the clan prepared as best they could, with Terakaern as the war organiser. WG won, twenty minutes in. Bringing about the same number as the Unbreakables, at around 100 people, it was a great victory. However the Unbreakables accussed WG of cheating. This took a long time to resolve and we were eventually proven innocent. It was the first war we won to get ourselves recognition by the clan world as a true clan to be on the watch for. With the warmth of victory still running through us, Wildflame saw this as an appropriate time to step down from the pressures and demands of the council. With the requirements rising constantly, came the need to cater for lower levelled members, so consideration for a junior clan began. The council elections began. All of a sudden, the clan found itself flooded with new members. There was no limit to the amount of successful applicants. While many new members were co-operative, a few disrupted the atmosphere and status quo. The mentoring system reduced the impact of the problem, but further action was required, and taken through the form of His Lordship's theory, that by befriending the new members more, the clan would have been giving them the attention they were seeking, and in turn, stability would return. In the process, Half a dozen clan members were removed from the clan. Soon The Moriquendi declared war on WG. Not aggreeing to a rune war, The Moriquendi desired a steel war. The war was accepted. Mori won the steel war. Lying beneath the events in the clan, was a tention between WG and DOA. The two clans had been at each other's throats in the p2p wilderness now. WG declared war against DOA as a means to resolve tension. Finally, after the site had crashed for the fourth consecutive month, there was a dire need to change hosts to one which could cater for the growing demands. The process of switching took nearly a month. For the duration of that time the site was down. There were associated technical problems and problems processing the financial data. Mid S10 Days Shortly after the restoration of the clan website, WG fought DOA. The fight was WG's first P2P war, and little did we know, it was one of the first p2p wars in RS history. It was even sided most of the way through, right up to the point where FoM crashed. DOA and WG have since reconciled and again, the outcome of the war was mostly positive. However, tension with FoM rose. We never quite built back the respect for them. A short while later, the second election, for Wildflame's successor, began. Jesusislord6 and Jezzamon were chosen as two replacement council members, with an extra position being needed as Anincent had stepped down from the council. The Descendant Guardians clan opened, just a few days after, with a huge inflow of new members from the word go. With Gibble as their leader, DG would be endulging in the benefits of WG. Unfortunately, along came the time where His Lordship decided to give up full time leadership to pursue his studies. His workload was reduced as he attempted to spend the next 4 months studying for his final exams. It was August of 2005 when the clan entered a war-free period so that it could overcome its internal conflicts which had arisen as a result of an intake of too many new members in such a short span of time. For over one and a half years, the clan refused to follow the standard codes of honour, running from battle often and teleporting. It took one and a half years for WG to finally hammer down on teleporting and running and all else that the clan world saw as dishonourable. Hall of Fame at this time was created, recognising major achievements in the clan by its members. Stronger than ever, Wildguard extended its wilderness watch to encompass the Europeans by creating a European p2p raid, bringing the total to 5 weekly raids. It was a Federation raid... an unsuccessful raid. There was a large fight... Some time late in August or early September. WG left the Federation but retained its alliance with The Synergy and the Sabres. In this fight many valuable clan members left out of anger, but most returned soon after. Prospects for rejoining were considered, but turned down. THE offered WG a war, that month. Knowing we couldn't win alone, we called upon our noble ally, FEAR, to accompany us in war, and the war was accepted. The preparations were two weeks long, and having warred THE clan, WG and FEAR lose, but our reputations and clans both increased dramatically on most forums. Generally all three clans were pleased. We do not see it as a loss. Slowly, life became more quiet, as the leadership returned to work on the clan system, without a war hovering over the members. A new promotion system was set in place. Also, DG and WG began raiding together to help DG improve its wilderness performance. With this quiet life, the most quiet in a long count of months, another clan census was called. This one showed that the average combat level was hovering around the 96 mark, and that people were mostly happy with how things were run. Axe Man Jack, a clan member, became hostile when WG refused to kick out a clan member who inherited an account from his friend. After a rather heated argument AMJ left the clan on a bad note. This version of the history, written in January 2006, is currently accurate in saying that AMJ continues to attack WG verbally over public forums, for even the slightest of things) Late S10 Days His Lordship, having graduated from High School in mid-November, departed for a holiday to Singapore and Malaysia for two weeks. In the meantime, Blazer903 was made the primary leader of DG. In His Lordship's absence, EoS declared an official war against WG. WG accepted. A week later, we lost. A few days after His Lordship returned from his holiday, he tried to log in only to find his account permanently banned from Runescape, for advertising the Wildguard website over the game. The clan was dismayed when the appeal was turned down as well. However, thanks to Sabre Treky, who contacted a Jagex mod, the account was soon unbanned. Shortly after, some ex-WG members, along with some WG members, over Teamspeak, crashed a WG raid. Aggrevating His Lordship immensely, the betrayers were immediately suspended, and the ex-WG members were exiled from our presence, in particular Calmax, whose immaturity makes one glad he does not remain in WG. While banned, the clan Chivalry of Legends begin flaming WG publically and the tension between the two clans rose to a point where WG declared war on CL. However this war was fated not to happen. Regardless of the attempts to cool the flaming, CL and WG continued to flame, so His Lordship pulled WG out of the war because the hatred was growing far too strong. More arguments arose as a result, but the fighting slowly dies as time went by. It was a few days after the war was declined when Flummbullen from ST offerred WG a miniwar. It was a tragic defeat on our part. Due to a combination of low levels, a tactic that failed, and a bad time of day for us, we only took down a single ST member. Thirsty for more war, WG accepted the proposal from the Black Dragons clan, for a p2p war. It would be the first p2p war since the DOA war long ago. Between the declaration and the war, many complicated events unfolded, the first of which was New Year. His Lordship, not quite sober from the night before, left WG in a state of rage, only to return the next day, but not before a few clan members left. Also, WG's war plan was leaked to BD, who developed a counterplan. The details were also leaked to Scum, who planned to crash the war. Knowing this, WG asked for Fear's help but they were unable to back us up. Instead, Divine Forces and Valor protected the war whilst BD and WG were fighting. After much fighting, well over 40 minutes (longest p2p war in Runescape history), WG alone remained with 30 members or so and some specators. There were complications with the victor as never before had we witnessed a war with so many problems and spectators and people returning to watch. WG was given the victory. Late January of 2006 saw the election of three council members, Kingdanielii, Xena1168 and Geohood. The expanded council of eight including His Lordship was the most active leadership team to date. Only a few days later, the new website was released, containing completely revised policies. Unfortunately, the stroke of good luck could not last forever. DG collapsed due to complications with the leadership and lack of co-operations between the clans. DG members were moved to WG immediately. It was now time for the long delayed anniversary to take place. Almost two months later than scheduled, the anniversary was a big success with the opening ceremony open for the public. Following the anniversary, WG enrolled in the clan tourney, which had dozens of clans competing in different categories. In the tourney, WG was unfortunate enough to face its allies, Fear and the Synergy. But the wars wouldn't cease there. No, soon the clan would be fighting a rising star in the clan world, Valor. Defeat to Valor was taken well, and both parties enjoyed the battle immensely. Immediately after the Valor war, a forum switch was authorised once more, ending the s10 days, the longest era in WG history. WG.com Days The transition from s10 to WG.com began with a surge of excitement. The Rune Raiders clan and WG had initiated a war on p2p, a most rare event amoungst clans. However, it was not to happen, when the famed war preparation movie was released to RR, revealing our tactics. The war was cancelled. It was the start of April in 2006, and the clan had evolved so dramatically. Wildguard had grown into a vast empire, not strong in military, but strong in the hearts of the people. With unrivalled events and spectacular public archives, the clan was truly a jewel of the Runescape world. This, like all things good, was not to last, when the atmosphere decayed dramatically over the next week, when member after member departed from the clan, and fights broke out, with raids turning sour. Some very influencial figures in WG, including the old veteran Rick Hamm, departed for good. Controlling the situation, His Lordship restabalised the clan, removing troublemakers and revisiting some rules. Two weeks after the chaos, the clan was better than before, but at a great price. The clan was 50 members down in number. In the following days, smiles returned to the faces of the clan, and the friendships were rebuilt, and WG's initiation into WG.com was complete. Good times lay ahead. A few weeks after the stabalisation of the clan, Dorcha3377 was the second council member to leave since the transition, and to make matters worse, Kingdanielii was forced to step down due to a pressured real life. In this time, the construction skill hit the world of Runescape. His Lordship siezed the opportunity and pooled together funds and built a clan house. This was the first clan house in RS history. When June of 2006 was half way through its cycle, morale took a sudden upturn with the arrival of the junior clan, the Descendant Guardians, for the second time. His Lordship felt the clan was ready to re-open it. With DG came a steady inflow of member to WG as well. With the return of Kenshln to WG, wilderness success skyrocketed as well, Wildguard reclaimed its place in the ranks. The success would not end there. His Lordship conceived a massive war involving DS, WG, DG, CL and RR. The war was one of the largest wars in Runescape history. It was the largest non-world war ever to be seen. DS defeated all four clans combined. The war had the largest recorded deathmarch in RS history. And just a single week later, WG would declare on Echo of SIlence for a second time, this time on p2p. A week later, the battle was fought, and EoS proved to be too great a foe once more. Things turned for the worse when FEAR terminated its 18 month alliance with WG. The alliance, which propered for a very long time, broke due to many complicated reasons. Caught off guard, WG accepted the separation politely. Most fortunately, thevoid was filled when Reckoning Day proposed a alliance to WG. It wasn't long after when the forums began malfunctioning. Glitches were appearing in every crevasse of the forums. Afraid they could no longer sustain the clan, WG switched back to Invisionfree, ending the shortest era of the clan's life, at about the time Reckoning Day closed, finishing a short lived alliance. Early Z6 Days August 2006. A pivotal month for Wildguard. Turbulent, rewarding, immortal. It was the first time since the laste s4 days that the clan had witnessed such great action. The move to the z6 forums was well received, and immediately, a new council was elected in. Four members, namely Rai of Light, Loppls, Tmal34 and Twizlers300 were democratically chosen to lead the clan, restoring the council to its number of seven. Spirits were soaring as we prepared for our third war in this short time span. It would be against the Rune Raiders. Two weeks of preparation commenced. These two weeks proved to be a great challenge. The dishonourable clan Reign of Terror spied on the warring clans and extracted information on the war, planning to crash. WG had asked DF to protect the war, and to miniwar WG afterward. They agreed, but later dropped out. In a last minute hasty attempt, WG and RR called upon RSD to defend the war. When the war arrived, RoT crashed as expected, coming across RSD on its way to the war zone. RSD fought RoT hard. In the meantime WG and RR were fighting fiercely in the ruins in eastern wilderness. WG had just won the war as RoT defeated RSD. But RSD had done their job. They stalled RoT for the entire duration. RoT arrived at the war zone at the exact time WG logged out, just missing us. We were safe and victorious. During the preparation for the war, two bitter rivalries were spawned. The first obviously between WG and RoT. The second, was against WG and Collision, who wanted a war with WG but were declined because of the RR war. However they did not know about the war as it was secret, and became angry that we refused to war them. Amongst all this chaos, His Lordship had begun work on his third and final Flash movie based on the clan. It would be the greatest movie ever made about Runescape. Mid z6 days The early z6 days ended with the election of Starzhine and Kenshln into the WG council, and an expansion of the DG council, adding Kaioken757 and Stokenut. For the next month, WG sailed on smoothly, raiding successfully and dominating the clan world with dazzling innovation in the wilderness. The success was sadly too short lived. In a sudden twist, His Lordship was forced to step down from leadership due to extreme real life reasons. In his stead, Xena1168 was placed in charge. Xena, also under pressure with her own life, returned the position soon after. His lordship then bestowed leadership upon Tmal34 and Twizlers300. It was agreed DG was to be phased out as the council could not cope. DG members began the process of graduating into WG and the junior clan was once again closed. The drama had only begun with the change in leadership. The new leaders had begun to implement changes such as Operation Purple Haze, an extreme regime of power training to boost the clan's levels. In addition, the requirements were raised to 105 combat. In anger, His Lordship distanced himself from WG due to the leadership disagreements. He and the clan had developed a hostility toward each other and this intensified to the point it all changed... he publically shut down WG, only to open it three hours later. But the damage was already done. Over 100 members left the clan. His Lordship took back leadership, and now with a less demanding real life, tended to WG. Wildguard was to commence a stage of building over the next few months and through the all important third anniversary. The first month of rebuilding went slowly, and recruitment had halted, as had events. It was a tragedy rivalled by no other. To make matters worse, His Lordship's account was permanent banned for a third time. How was WG to survive? This time, JaGeX was on our side, as the account was returned. This obstacle now overcome, the clan began recruitment and rebuilding, with elections of leaders, changes to the forums and other large scale operations. A few of the members who left returned, although only a minority. Clan life was beginning to return to normal. 2007 came, and things started looking better, as the clan slowly replenished its numbers and regained that long departed family atmosphere. Events began to return and the leadership stablised. The stage of growth was slow, yes, but very steady. It would not be long before the clan returned to its former glory. When March arrived, the clan was overrun with applicants, many of which were the old members who had left in the collapse of the clan. Tmal34 and Kenshln constituted a part of those who returned. As the clan continued to grow, it was not long before numbers were replenished. His Lordship released a new clan movie to lift clan spirits, and the clan began a winning streak of wars. A council election was held, with Tmal34, Bassism, Tnuac and Valdremia winning, and thus entering the council to support an over-worked Stokenut, Georgio9 and His Lordship. In about May 2007, the clan hit a plateau where growth seemed to slow down for no particular reason. In this time morale slowly declined, despite the good community. Activity was decaying. It was time for the council to meet and discuss massive structural changes. The council, in a historical meeting, agreed that WG needed to be split into three components. The fighting sector, the skills sector, and the community sector. These three sectors would form the basis of the entire WG structure. Not long after, the clan warred the Shadow Elves, and coming out victorious. This success was short lived, however, because the following month, the clan lost for the third time, to EoS. Soon, Tmal34 and Bassism left the clan, and following this several high ranking members, causing WG to once again fall. Seeing this, His Lordship introduced one critical change that would stop the drama. Democracy was revoked. Fighting between members was no longer tolerated, and protesting was outlawed in hopes that this would allow WG to stabalise. The entire clan world was shrinking. It was time for WG to replenish its numbers and have the clan soar beyond 200 members once more, becoming one of the most powerful clans in Runescape as it once was. Mid 2007 All of a sudden there is a dramatic shift in the values of the clan. Whilst it is important for the clan to continue to strive for excellence in all aspects, such as the wilderness, more attention than ever was given to the community sector. Reflecting this change, recruitment became more important, promotions were handed out, and the council took a renewed interest in making sure all members got along. At this stage, the clan world had changed dramatically. Wars were now rare, and new tactics of returning and dragging were replacing older tactics of hugging. WG had been fighting an uphill battle, trying to preserve the old ways. The clan world, as most agree, had fallen into a terrible state. WG itself was finding it difficult to recruit or to hold wars, as clans were shrinking in size. Nonetheless, the clan would maintain its attitude toward the traditional, and arguably more honourable fighting methods, even if it meant struggling to find wars. During this period, His Lordship hosted the "Big Event", a mid-year anniversary-style extravaganza, with monetary prizes, large-scale spectacular events and many other publicity stunts. Community had once again become stable. The members were in love with the clan. With its newfound stability, WG was ready to take on mastery of the wilderness once more, and revive the old ways. Late 2007 Around October, the leadership soon began to realise that WG's interest in Runescape was decreasing. There was an important council meeting held, and it was decided that a forum switch would be in order. Robbiethe2nd collaborated with His Lordship to make a start on the new WG.com forums, this time using an older version of IPB. They would have improved anti-spying mechanisms, more features, a better look, and would be more organised. The council felt that a forum switch would improve the clan's activity rate, and would offer a fresh start. However, the forum took many months to create, and was not ready until early 2008. Around this time, the clan flash movie was placed on the front page of Newgrounds, giving WG greater attention, and new recruits. Wilderness success was a major problem for WG as the year drew to a close. The clan adaopted a warring-only policy, because it could not keep up with PK run-ins, which lasted many hours and required dozens of rune sets. Our members could not afford this level of input into fights, and so the clan stuck to warring, which was far less popular than the PKRI. WG launched the classic clan campaign, explaining these policies, hoping that other clans would join in the restoration of the noble warring tradition - the tradition that WG had been following for almost four years. In late October, Abmanju and Snowzak were elected into the council. It became clear that WG was declining once more due to lack of interest. We were not warring regularly, and event attendance was going down in a hurry. Attention turned to the forum switch, which was going slower than expected. To make matters worse, JaGeX released the lethal update that destroyed the wilderness, replacing it with the clan wars arena and bounty hunter. WG was doing very weell in these fields to begin with, but they were no substitute for the wilderness, and morale plummeted to a point where activity was reduced massively. It wasn't just WG. there was widespread chaos in the clan world. Many hundreds of members from different clans quit Runescape and despite mass riots, JaGeX refused any compromise. Early 2008 His Lordship left for Europe in early 2008, for 6 weeks. During that time, Dorcha3377 was given leadership, and the clan basically froze. In London, His Lordship hosted a real life meeting. Nine members turned up and together the clan visited JaGeX offices, and later at night went out and had some less legal fun. In the meantime, those members that weren't enjoying the IRL meeting were slowly decaying, waiting for His Lordship to return from the trip to Europe. By the end of the six weeks, WG leadership was inactive, along with the remaining members. His Lordship spent a full month rousing the clan back into activity. The clan website was now several months out of date and needed immediate attention. A forum switch from z6 to wg.com happened when the leadership purchased a private server. Previously, the new forums kept going down because of a fault with the hosting company. With the new forums came new activity and morale lifted. The clan began a winning streak in clan wars once more and recruitment sped up massively. The biggest change was the merging of the sectors. After one month, WG had almost doubled in size and had grown massive levels. Growth like this was unprecedented. WG had never improved so quickly in such a short space of time. Dorcha3377 stepped down from the council a few weeks after His Lordship's return. However, His Lordship was overworked and abused, and not offered any help by the membership. Under this pressure, he decided to step down from leadership for good, appointing Abmanju to be the new Primary Leader. Under Abmanju, WG continued it's winning streak, and growth continued steadily. His Lordship would remain in the background, working on the clan website and the recruitment material, and would slowly phase out into retirement. Abmanju and the current council of Stokenut, Darkzero101 and Snowzak, kept WG on a similar path, and started an alliance with The Death Monkeighs, and existing ally of TBE. And, after 6 long months, the clan website was updated. As WG now owned its own private server, the clan forum technician, Robbiethe1st, was able to create substantial modifications to the forums, including Teamspeak monitors, better skins, and generally more control. The wilderness was still non-PvP, and the clan world began to shrink, and WG along with it. Many members knew they would never see the maxed option wars again. The clan continued growing following its slump due to His Lordship's six week vacation. This came only a few weeks after the WG warlord Snowzak retired. Under Abmanju, WG continued its growth slowly and steadily. His Lordship was still there on the sidelines, easing into retirement slowly, in case he was needed. However, after His Lordship banned a trial member (Crucio01), several members protested against the alleged power abuse and the rights of the founder's rank. Consequently a big fight ensued and His Lordship cut off his ties with WG completely. Mid 2008 It was June now, and Abmanju was the primary leader of WG. The clan was sailing smoothly, but not growing as quickly as it once had. After a short while, Abmanju was fighting his own council and there was general leadership disagreement. Some of the members were bickering and not obeying the council, seeing it as week and divided. RSC at this time had hosted the Clan Wars Premiere League, taking to the Clan Wars Arena that replaced the wilderness. WG did extremely well in these categories, although the leadership was not keen to re-enter a second season after members were complaining about the league being too demanding. The clan ran out of motivation to war in the league, and attendance started to fall. Following on from this, the clan began to slump, and Abs took the decline personally. When August came, His Lordship held a second real life meeting in Paris, as part of his own personal holiday. Those who attended were His Lordship, Snowzak, Dhboy123 (from the Divine Forces), and Bassism. Bassism was really the only member with direct relations to WG, but the meeting is still considered to be a WG meeting. During the meeting, the group played some pranks on Runescape community and WG, and spent the night on a pub crawl. It was approaching the end of August. The clan was still strong, but Abmanju was having difficulties running the clan, and fighting his council along the way. Several council members (explicitly Robertw56 and Darkzero101) had already posted two weeks notice and were on their way out, another council member, Theevildead2, was retiring to emeritus, and Abmanju was very close to posting his own. The community was getting strained. In a last attempt to save the clan from a morale-breaking situation, Abmanju asked His Lordship to return to WG. His Lordship refused at first, and then after requests from several members, reluctantly took back the position. Late 2008 Fortunately, in the four months where His Lordship was out of leadership, Abmanju managed to sustain the clan and avoided any disaster. The clan was in a decent shape and under His Lordship, underwent some reparations and recruitment. Upon his return, Lordship made a rather controversial move by the clan world's opinion. He distributed a WG T-Shirt to the members for no profit, and then to the clan community, to fund the cost of the servers. The shirt was a huge success. 40 were sold within a month, and then dozens more over the next few months. Immediately after this, elections were held to replace the outgoing council of Robertw56, Darkzero101, and Theevildead2. Kingrandy0 and Anatcrafter were elected into the council. Leading up to the end of the year, several key elements in the clan's life changed. Firstly, the creation of a private clan leader forum gave the clan members a more intimate relationship with JaGeX, and many clan members were unmuted through His Lordship's request on the private forum. Soon after this, PvP worlds were released. All of a sudden, the clan world sprung back to life and things were getting into full swing. Through His Lordship's judgmental error, WG was slow to take to PVP, and so was a step behind. Recruitment suffered for several months, while WG remained in the Clan Wars Arena, and the rest of the clan world was migrating to PVP worlds. At the same time as this update, WG's initials were uncensored. For almost 2 years, the initials WG were censored over Runescape. To commemorate the decensorship of the clan's initials, the members put together a public party for the clan world. On top of all this, the clan lost its warlord, Dalejamesw, who left for DF. he was, at the time, the most loved member in the clan. WG held an appreciation event for him on his way out. Following his departure, Mugger84 and Arsenalfan32 were elected into the council as co-warlords. December was approaching now. December was always a vibrant month for WG; the anniversary became the central element of clan life. The 2008 annicersary was a success, despite the attempts made by SE to crash. The dozens of events were executed with perfection, and the participating members enjoyed the festivities, that lasted for the entire month. Dalejamesw at this time, began inviting himself to WG events and making a fool of himself, and he lost favour with WG and was demoted from ex-member rank to clan friend. In the background of all this, Robbie was continuing his forum work. By the end of 2008, the WG forums had become the best functioning clan forums in the Runescape clan world. GuardianScore was released as well as other major features. It was clear that WG would never switch forums again. Early 2009 The early days of 2009 were somewhat weak days in comparison to the clan's noble history. To begin, 3v0lution_X, an ally of WG, was torn in a leadership rift, and soon collapsed, and out of it, two new clans were formed. The alliance was terminated. At this time, a new system of applications was created, in order to improve the flow of applications. The first weekend of the year saw WG attain rank #10 on the RAW list of top CWA clans, a big achievement indeed. There were two major victories in the early part of the year. A victory against CR, and a victory against RE. These two official RAW wins affirmed to everyone that WG had plenty of strength... but the clan was still lagging behind the rest of the clan world... who were now all competant in PVP. Awakening to this, WG immediately began taking steps to become more PVP-conscious. One of the early attempts to do this, was His Lordship's siding with The Titans clan, against Violent Resolution, who had angered much of the clan world by crashing fights and flaming. Lordship pleged WG to the cause of counter-crashing VR. This meant crashing VR's planned fight with DF. These two clans were the two strongest clans of the day, and going against either of them would be dangerous for WG. Ex-WG-Warlord Dalejamesw, now in DF, made many threats against WG, causing him to get banned. In the end, His Lordship conceded to the expressed wishes of his co-leaders, and abandoned the cause, but not before VR directed much anger toward WG. Mugger84, the warlord of the time, was instrumental in ceasing the hostilities. We will never know what would have happened if WG continued their plege to the Titans, but as a result of pulling out, WG lost an opportunity to dive deep into the realm of PVP... though admittedly we were saved from VR's vengeance. As February came about, long-time member Gorgemaster was elected into the council. At this time, WG started stepping into PVP. His Lordship left for Vietnam, and the clan was placed in the hands of the second-in-charge, Kingrandy0. Randy, alongside Mugger84 and Arsenalfan32, saw to it that PVP was given more attention. WG, after so many years, abandoned the full-out war. It was now PKRI's. CWA would only be on occassion, with Megaraids becoming the feature event of the clan's weekend. His Lordship hoped intently, that the full-out war would make a comeback. Mid February came around, and all of a sudden, there grew a tension between the leaders and the clan members. The central figure in this saga was Mugger84, who found himself getting harrassed by several clan members, and fighting back. Events started to lack, as the leadership circle pushed for greater PVP activity. His Lordship, at this time, introduced new set raid times to be strictly adhered to. But it was too little. Too many members had become disgruntled with the clan's lack of progress. In the course of two days, the clan lost almost 20 members, who quit at the same time, including Mugger84, the warlord, who banned himself. WG was left with a core of loyal members, upon which everything had to be rebuilt and improved. Counting his blessings, Lordship began work promptly. The council would remain lacking. Poor timing also saw Anatcrafter leave the council reasons due to lack of time to lead. His Lordship could no longer allow the council to maintain such a high turnover rate. Promotions into the council would be more difficult than ever. Following the mass leavings, His Lordship renewed the clan server, and upgraded the clan website, working hard on recruitment. Kingrandy0 and Gorgemaster would together work on bringing the JaGeX cup to WG, and remind the clan that there was more to Wildguard than PVP. The clan had suffered big blows, but as this very history has shown, WG's resilience and ability to recover swiftly is its great strength. Mid 2009 Then, in blew the summer wind. As summer came in, so too did a new strength and spirit into this old, seasoned clan. Remember, the clan was still crippled from the loss of many great members, and was in its weakest state since D-Day in December 2006. Things were dire. But His Lordship had finally come out of his studies, able to provide his full time services to WG. And Back To Own, the new warlord replacing Arsenalfan32, forged a new path down p2p PVP wilderness. Over the next two months, the clan transformed, What was once a crushed group of core members became a flourishing community once more. Many major changes took place, the most important of which was the creation of a required equipment list. The demands on members banks allowed them to sustain much higher quality raids, and very soon, Back To Own's innovative wilderness leadership saw the greatest recovery in morale and power since Kenshln and KF. The rift in 3v0 that happened several months earlier caused the clan to divide in two, and WG had allied the new break-off clan, Zero Tolerance. The two clans had been allies for about three months, but ZT was undergoing inner turmoil. It was only in late August that the alliance could properly grow. Most other clans experienced what is described as a very uninteresting summer. People had expected so much more from the clan world. But WG seemed to flourish. As the autumn of 2009 creeped in, the clan was left with a breath of fresh air, ready to continue growing. Late 2009 The restrengthening of WG's PvP aspect continued in August. A rare switch around took place in the late of the month, in which Back To Own (One of WG's most recognised and respected leaders in the PvP field) took the rank of Raid Leader alongside newly-appointed Leecable, and Arsenalfan32 took his place as Council. Not too long after, the election for a fourth Council took place, and Darkzero101 once again was promoted in early September. His Lordship released The Guardian Power, WG's theme song. In mid-october, the three-day wait and the 12-hour application waiting periods were removed from WG's application system, meaning Intros could apply any time after posting their introduction. Plans for WG's third Real Life meeting in the USA began at this point, and the Summer awards were released at the end of the month. WG's warring strength continued to stay strong, and on November 15th they successfully defeated the Masters of Dragons in an intense F2P PK Run-In, just 14 days before MoD would close their doors. Later in November, WG returned to the battlefield for an intense F2P PvP battle against Exer. WG lost the war, but soon after defeated Zero Tolerance (both times) in a 2-round P2P CWA fight on the 28th. WildGuard's 3rd Real Life meeting took place at the end of 2009 for WG's 6th birthday during His Lordship's visit to the USA. Another election was hosted in December for a new Council member, but during the election Darkzero101 posted his leaving notice, and so Rachellove9 and Stokenut were both promoted on December 12th. Background improvements were made to the website and forums as forum tech Robbie began an upgrade to the server on the 14th. Improvements to the forums continued over December and into January. Early 2010 During His Lordship's absence at the RL meeting and later on into 2010, WG's progress had slowed considerably. Interclan disputes had brought the community down and WG were on a losing streak for wars. Upon his return, he addressed the clan in a video known as the Great Announcement. Thus began an incredible journey in an attempt to restore WildGuard to it's former glory, and beyond. On January 31st, WG battled The British Crusaders in a historic war for the clan - the Great War. The clan shot out from the slump they had fallen into as 47 WildGuard showed up on the battlefield, each carrying well over 2 million coins worth of armour and gear. The war (Originally organised with Dragonwood, who later withdrew) had incredible preparation, including it's own dedicated section of the WG forums. TBC defeated WG on the battlefield, but mentally and morally, the Great War was an incredible victory. WG progressed with wars, entering the 2010 Tip.It Tournaments fighting against clans like the Titans, The Rising and Natural Born Killers. Despite the sudden jump with the Great War, with His Lordship overseas again, the clan had little success in the tournament and the streak of defeats continued. February brought around new changes to the ranks of Raid and Event leaders with several elections and promotions, and the mentor system was updated. His Lordship also for the first time cleared the Hall of Shame, honourably giving almost all banned members a second chance and a fresh start in the WG community. Around this time the Winter Awards were held for nominations and voting. A milestone during February was the release of a new Flash movie. Depicting a WG P2P battle in the wilderness involving the Corporeal Beast, the 30-second clip was produced for the Runescape Machinima competition and truly reflects His Lordship's effort and skill in Flash. Though the movie did not make it into the finals, it received an astonishing amount of recognition and respect, from outside WG as well. At the end of the month, the Clanniversairy 2009 (Which had been pushed forward due to the RL meetings) began. The first four days were hosted with great success, with many events supported by The Sabres, long time friends and allies of WG. However, due to time pressures, the final events of the Anniversary were held on the 5th and final day: the Clan Quest and the Photo Shoot. In early May, Gorgemaster stepped down from Council (making him the longest-serving Council member), and on May 28th, WG Justin and Vephyrus were elected in his stead. Mid 2010 Following the Great War, WG took part in the Jagex Cup for Skilling and Combined - although, these bore little fruit. With His Lordship occupied with his studies, the clan was slowly losing the feel of success they had gained with the Great War. Though this was not to last. A new, and greater war was organised, with over 20 clans considered. On June 27th, WildGuard defeated Dangerous Business in The Battle of Turning Tides, and ending a six-month losing streak. And it held out. WG went on to gain several more crushing victories, and entered the Tip.It War Rankings in mid-2010. One of the noteable victories was against 'The' Clan in a full-out P2P PvP - acknowledged as one of the first P2P wars in the TWR. The month of August came with a rush of intensity. Jagex's Golden Gnomes competition had been announced, and WG's fifth Flash Movie was in the works. Preparing for the first clan website in a long time, WildGuard stepped up the pace. Events were thrown out - staff and member-hosted alike, and some weeks averaged more than one official event a day. All had amazing success. Just hours before Jagex's RuneFest convention, the fifth flash movie and the new clan website were released. The website featured the introduction of new and improved video galleries, a stylish new look for the picture galleries, updated information and more. The flash movie would go on to be played live at RuneFest and took second place in the Golden Gnome awards for Animation Short Story. And it didn't end there - WG hosted their fifth and arguably most successful Real Life meeting around RuneFest 2010 in London. A final turnout of eight WildGuard and affiliates (With a coincidental meeting with the owner of the ex-WG account Pazenon) overtook the turnout of the first meeting in London two and a half years previously. Attending both OneLuckyLady's The Night Before events at the Montagu Pyke and the London Eye as well as RuneFest itself, it was an amazing success. WildGuard made their mark, shaking hands with the likes of Mod MMG, Mod Timbo and Andrew Gower as a clan. RuneFest came with the release of one thousand brand-new WG pens which were handed out free, 200 of which were given to be used by Jagex themselves. Twenty-six Jagex Mods also requested WG T-Shirts, truly showing that WG had become a Jagex-endorsed clan. Late 2010 After Runefest, WG were featured twice in Jagex's clan submissions - the first having their picture and even quotes from His Lordship and Stokenut on September 17th. Following that, Mod Timbo conducted an interview with His Lordship for the November 11th release, meaning the clan had been present in Clan Submissions a total of 3 times in 2010. Flowing with the success, WildGuard turned their attention back to the clan world. What followed were several unique wars with gear limitations of pre-2005 items, held in abstract locations. WG clashed blades with The Gladiatorz, Australian Army and Oblivion in the Stronghold of Player Safety, Varrock Sewers and even the Al Kharid palace. The clan began to gain a healthy balance of victories and defeats on the battlefield once again, and progress continued as the clan began to take on stronger forces such as Brutality and Phalanx. Other changes soon began to take place. A new rank known as the Historian was created for WG Keanu, orginally as a bribe for him to get a haircut during the real life meeting. The historical aspect of the clan improved, with additions like the clan's Wiki page to the website. The clan T-shirt was also given an update, and WG Keanu also hosted the Summer Awards from September to November. After much discussion, WG and Zero Tolerance ended their alliance, but the relationship with The Sabres stayed strong. Then without warning, Vephyrus banned himself from the Council without adhering to the 2-weeks notice rule. WG's leadership took a heavy blow, but the darkness lifted as the clan voted to revoke Vephyrus's ban. He returned as an Elite Guardian, and Kcross73 was promoted to council in his stead at the end of November. As WG entered December, they took a dedicated step towards F2P for the first time in a long time. Several F2P Run-Ins were held against clans like Poison, Titans Revolution and Interqueo (With The Sabres' aid) and Collision. And for the sixth time, WG shook hands in real life. This time in Australia, seven Guardians spent three nights in the Gold Coast for one of their most successful meetups to date. The clan was gradually strengthening, the Anniversary plans were being made, and in the run just before Christmas, Jagex released the poll leading up to the re-implication of the wilderness and free trade. The once slumping clan on a six month losing streak had gotten back on their feet and experienced one of their most amazing years. As 2010 came to a close, WG was ready to stand strong and march forward with the new year. Early 2011 2011 kicked off with the clan's vote to bypass the voting process and re-elect renowned warlord Darth Magul, and shortly after a completley re-worked real life recruitment video - the first re-release in four years. The 2010 Clanniversary was also held in January, extending to eight days again this year. Alongside quite a few ranks, including Raid Leaders, many changes came about to all aspects of the clan. Two in particular stood out - the implication of Dynamic requirements was one. WG raised to 110+ once again, but allowed 100+ in providing they met certain conditions. The other was Tabula Rasa: giving a clean slate. All warn levels were removed, all grudges dropped, and a time for new beginnings came. There was a dark cloud though - ex-Historian WG Keanu had departed on rough terms and formed a new clan called The Blade Keepers. Relations between WG and TBK were tense for several weeks until the rope snapped and hostilities broke out. TBK became WG's first formal rivals in over two years, and the two clans would remain hostile for over three months. Even so, the rivalry would fuel WG - giving them a reason to give their all once more, especially with it coinciding with the re-release of the Wilderness. In mid-March Airbender and Megajayson were promoted to Council. Both took to their work seamlessly with new Raid Leaders and various other changes to the clan (including solidifying the 110+ requirement). Meanwhile, WG were featured once again on the RuneScape website - in the Players' Gallery #21. RobbieBot, the clan's IRC bot received a full makeover, and just a few weeks later the Clan Camp was released. As WG stocked up on their newly-designed clan cloaks, the gear requirements were raised to prepare for the Summer. WG's seventh Real Life meeting was also planned for early May. The clan also took another step in a different direction and declared war on a Jagex clan - Mod Poppy's Pink Patrons of Pain. Around 30 WildGuard turned up on the battlefield, outnumbered against over 100 PPoP, but their levels, skill and organisation brough them through to victory. Mid 2011 May 1st and 2nd started off with WG's 7th real life meeting in London and Cambridge. WG Keanu also attended, as the rivalry with TBK had ended following the collapse of the clan with two exodi. During the meet WG fought RuneScape Dinasty for the first time in many years as part of the Jagex Cup - however WG's 27 suffered a crushing defeat against RSD's 79. The following day, the meeting attendees headed to Jagex's Cambridge HQ to deliver three WG t-shirts to Mod Slayer, brining the total number of J-mods with WG shirts up to 29. Summer was just around the corner, and WG began the preparation for the increase in activity. In late May, Keanu returned as Historian which caused much controversy with members - however this was overshadowed by preparation for an event known as The Reckoning. On June 20th, the clan gathered at the Throne Room in the clan house whilst WildGuard underwent a mass of changes. These included the first forum switch in over three years (Leaving IPB behind for SMF), the third re-opening of Descendant Guardians (with Keanu, now DG Keanu, as leader), and a complete re-write of the majority of the clan's structure. Runefest 2011 was also announced in June, and preparation started almost immediately. Clan Citadels were released in July - WG embraced the update and began the journey through the tiers. In August, His Lordship's Tales from Port Sarim was entered for the Golden Gnomes, featuring much of WG despite not being focused on the clan as were the past two Jagex entries. WG also renewed their name and offered public anti-crash services to the clan world - many top clans taking up the offer and asking WG out almost daily for their help. The clan also went head on against Desolation in a P2P PKRI on August 6th, and when Bane (an Infliction remake) crashed, WG held out 2v1. The fight turned into a cluster, but WG made their stand and Bane closed their doors the same night. Meanwhile DG was growing strongly - despite the exiling of Advisor (the new Council rank) Garrett xD, DG received a steady inflow of members, surpassed the lifespan of DG2 and headed out into battle and the Wilderness with strong swords and hearts.
