  1. Edit: never mind question answered, thanks for the guide!
  2. I honestly don't understand this thought process. It seems like your argument is that to increase your QOL doing a particular activity in OSRS, the reward/item/boost to increase that QOL should come from the same activity and nothing else. So, you would want these rewards to only come from the fishing skill itself, correct? Except, that's just... not how the game works? Look at questing, if you want to unlock new zones, items (sometimes BIS), and even entire skills, there are quests you need to do. Sometimes, those quests have requirements on top of actually doing the quest itself. Now, it sounds like you consider yourself a skiller and someone who does not like doing PVM. What if I was someone who just didn't like quests, but really wanted to unlock the herblore skill? Well, too bad for me, I gotta do Druidic Ritual. Same argument to be made for countless things in this game. I want to PVM, I need Void armor, but to get it I have to do Pest Control, a minigame which is not PVM. I want an imbued god cape to make my spells hit more, but to do it I need to venture into the wilderness, a PVP zone. And do I even need to mention achievement diaries? Your nightmare scenario of spending "hours" on the boss beforehand to get these cool rewards really doesn't sound that bad. I can understand that if you are completely against doing the content, then it's not about the time, since you are just opposed to doing it at all. But, in that scenario, it's the age old argument that you are limiting your account by your own choice. Jagex puts the content into the game, and in classic MMO fashion, the content has to have good rewards to make it worth it. If you still don't want to do the content, then the rewards must not be as great as you claim. They are adding fishing content into the game (if the poll passes), but nothing is stopping you from continuing to enjoy the fishing skill as if they did not add it at all. So other players will be more "efficient" while afk fishing, so what? You are free to be just as efficient if you did the boss. If you choose not to, then it will take you a few more hours to get 99 fishing. I'll write it again, so what?

Cursed Rake List any previous RS names: N/A What is your total level and combat level? Total Level: 1846 Combat Level: 125 Tell us about your RuneScape account and history. Hey guys, maybe some of you will remember me, I used to be in this clan but had to quit RS for a while due to the pressures of work. Well, I'm back now! I had played OSRS for a year or so, but was quite active in original Runescape 2 back during the golden years. I have returned to OSRS because I really missed having a virtual "home" and a set of friends to play with. I also have not forgotten all of my longterm OSRS goals, chief among them to get 99 RC, which was a goal I had ever since I was a kid playing RS2. I have a long way to go as it's my lowest skill right now, haha. Tell us about your clan history. No clan history other than being in Wilderness Guardians for a few months back in 2019/early 2020. Tell us about your yourself. I'm a 28 year old guy living in the DC area with my fiancée and our two pugs. I work in the federal government, and am currently working from home during these COVID times. I went to school at the Ohio State University if there are any buckeye fans here. Apart from gaming, I like to read fantasy and historical fiction, listen to history podcasts, and I also collect books and watches. How did you hear about us? Reddit (originally) What makes you want to join us? I had a great time the first time around and would love it if you could have me back! I'm not very much into PKing but I loved all the PVM and skilling events, and maybe eventually I'll start PKing if someone is willing to teach a lifelong Runescape PVP noob the ropes. 4. I love this, coming from a long time at WoW which has excellent guild support, it's good to see that they are finally giving clans something else apart from a chat room. Maybe clan house (via construction) and shared vault/bank next?
  5. There's no way they would ban everyone using third party clients just because of OSBuddy's update, pretty much the entire community uses a third party client, with most on Runelite. When they decided to make AHK against the rules, they sent out a notice in advance to make sure everyone was aware of the change. I agree that the OSBuddy plugins take the simple quality of life additions that clients usually give to a next level, but I think Jagex should consider just adopting those changes into the base game. I usually play on PC, but I really can't imagine training a skill like construction on mobile. If Jagex is serious about recruiting long-term players from mobile, they need to make some UI changes that makes the game playable on that platform. I think the community is stuck in the mindset of "I suffered, so you have to too" - but people are really inconsistent on what they consider a simple quality of life change and what they consider cheating/botting. For instance, wasn't the "deposit items in inventory to bank" feature added just earlier this year? I remember people asking for that years back, and they got ridiculed on sites like reddit as it would somehow make the game too easy and everyone would be level 2277. Now, everyone seems to like that QOL change. Anyway, It will be interesting to see how Jagex responds to this, as they apparently cannot detect which third party client you use, just that you either use their client or a third party one. OSBuddy claims that their newest enhanced plugins are not detectable by Jagex, but I guess we will see what Jagex has to say about all of this. They cancelled the weekly Q&A as they want to put out a statement first, so that seems to suggest that they will update us soon.
  6. Yeah the ammonite crabs are a popular spot but you should be able to find an empty spot on a world if you keep trying. For NMZ, I would only advise prayer pots for your first time through to rack up some points, afterward you would ideally be using absorption potions that you buy with the points. I recommend following the below video guide. The guide details how to train combat in the most AFK way possible. If you don't want to AFK combat training, then you may as well train combat through slayer as it is more fun and varied.
  7. I would recommend doing the Bone Voyage quest and grinding combat at the ammonite crabs on Fossil Island, it's probably the most AFK friendly combat training until base 70 combat stats, which is when you should start either slayer or NMZ. PC is an alright way to train I suppose, and you need to do it eventually for void armor but that's not going to be useful for you until way later in your RS journey. I would not recommend rushing defence to a higher level than strength just to get 20k experience from a quest, at the end of the day 20k is a drop in the bucket compared to the exp you will be getting. Strength should ideally be considerably higher than attack and defence, although at the lower levels you may want to keep them consistent to be able to wield the higher tier weapons and armor.
  8. Congrats!! I aim to be in a similar spot in the next few months. Did you train through slayer or NMZ? I'm doing a bit of both.
  9. Thanks a lot @Beefytron and @Butcher baby!!
  10. Thanks so much @Yass Queeen and @Flocked_Up !

Cursed Rake List any previous RS names: Leontes Rake What is your total level and combat level? Total Level: 1742 Combat Level: 118 Tell us about your RuneScape account and history. I started playing a few months ago, after finally getting bored of WoW and wanting to get back to my roots (like many, I played RS2 in the glory days). My first goal upon starting was getting the quest cape which I finally achieved just recently, and am now building up my skills. My name does not really mean anything, just a random thing I thought of after other names were unavailable. Tell us about your clan history. I have no clan history, and was not really part of clans back when I played RS2 in the early 2000's. I did lurk on the Damage Inc. forums back in the day, they were a funny group but I was never high level enough to apply. Tell us about your yourself. I'm male, and about to turn 27. I'm from Ohio and went to school at The Ohio State University, and now live in the Washington, D.C. area with my fiancee and our two pugs. I work for the government in a regular office job. Apart from gaming I enjoy reading science fiction, fantasy, and historical fiction, and am an avid book collector for my favorite books/authors. I am also quite into the custom mechanical keyboard scene, but am currently trying to dial that back and sell all of my unused keyboards. How did you hear about us? I searched for good OSRS clans on Reddit and found you guys! What makes you want to join us? I am looking for a community to play the game with and socialize with while I play this great game. I did not look for any clans for my first few months because I was treating the game as a sprint, obsessively trying to get a decent level as I felt so behind coming into the game so late. Now that I'm in an okay spot, I am treating game progression as more of a marathon, and in slowing down am now just looking for a group of friends to play with.
