The bottle one is tricky. Using a ruler, measure the height of the liquid in the bottle. Then invert the bottle and measure the air space in the cylindrical part of the bottle. These two measurements added together give you the height of a regular cylinder that has the same volume as the pop bottle. Now by dividing the height of the liquid into the total height of the imaginary cylinder, you obtain the percentage of the bottle that is filled with cranberry juice. If he was telling the truth, he would have known when his work started offhand. Counting back 5 hours required him to look at his watch, which would further suggest he was intoxicated.
