I have been aiming to reverse the culture of revoking bans. They were always meant to last forever. We had a good long run, where people banned lasted forever. EXCEPTION: Mugger84. I made the mistake of trading his ban for another ban. He got me enough evidence to safely convict Flippie for spying. Ended up having to ban him again for consistency. EXCEPTION: Mickey. Well not really. It was more a four month suspension, but it was much easier to change his rank, so don't bring this case up. EXCEPTION: Chappel44. Doesn't count either, since he was never banned rank. EXCEPTION: Flippie. Ok so you rallied to unban him. This now informs me that the ban is just a suspension. There was enough evidence to convict him of account sharing with some strong anti-WG people. And one of our wars got compromised because of that. You used the other three examples above to campaign for it, even though only Mugger's is valid. _________ In any case, Flippie was the first in my renewed push for permanent bans. And now that he's unbanned, my efforts are being reversed. I won't counteract Darth's decision, which I strongly disagree with, and WG's "rebellion", but there are two promises I will make. ONE. Bans from now on are forever unless I stipulate it is an extended suspension. No exceptions. Your campaigning won't change it and if you talk a council member into reversing it, the council member will be demoted. TWO. Flippie will not be accepted into WG as a member. This is to satisfy my own standards. To let him back would be the final knife in my back. Awesome guy, but I won't readmit him because it is not too late for me to salvage my campaign. There have been several occasions where WG members have thought it OK to fuck WG up and take the ban, knowing it could be taken off. This gets on my nerves, a lot. Anyone who knows me well enough understands I have plenty of kindness in me, but I am offering the strict hand that you need. I JUST spoke to a WG member who used previous unbannings as reason to unban Flippie. It's going to get worse now, when Flippie acts as an example for future bans. Why not unban our entire Hall of Shame? Go ahead council. No person likes other people being strict, but you need this for the future. --------------------  | ||||||||

For example: Yingyang (Simon). Since when has Flippie caused a problem on IRC? I can understand him staying banned on forums, but at least allow him in lobby, which I don't know if he was able to re-join the IRC before this unbanning. Oh and don't worry. If they decide that after a year you should still be banned, you stay banned. No more reviews. If you get unbanned after a year, you should remain on "probation" slip up, and you're banned again, no more chances. Seems fairer than just "bans are permanent" especially if people like Flippie get banned again because of carelessness. Armir was never anti-WG anyway. --------------------    | ||||||||

This is what stops people from burning the bridge on their way out. And if I threaten with a ban for HARDCORE deviant members, I want it to mean something. And plus, Flippie activated my pet hate: security breach. As far as I'm concerned, being a traitor is the worst thing you can do. Anyone caught leaking is banned without question. Now, I'm informed Flippie didn't know someone was on his account. But his forum password was the same as his RS password and the person who he shared his account with got access to the forums that way. So he's to blame even if he didn't give his forum account away. I suggest all of you fortify your passwords, because if you are caught with someone else on your account (and our forums will catch you eventually), then you are banned. -------------------- | ||||||||

We have seen many members come back without an issue. Some exceptions to that of course, but is it so terrible to have some system in place for second chances? I'm far from being the perfect member. If I screw up, I would want that second chance cause of how I feel about the clan. Gene you don't have that worry cause it is your clan, if you would mess up we unconditionally love you and you never ever would get banned for anything. People that have repeatedly been bad in the clan getting so many chances. That is probably what your rule came from. My suggestion is this: Hall of Shame Banned +1 or something that tells how many times they have been banned and the reason. If someone is trouble then that needs to be in lvl 4 for council to know they had issues with us. I can think of a female that caused so much trouble that I don't want back, but she is not in hall of shame. She could be allowed back in if she applied. It would be very bad for the community. As much as they can deny that Dan was not Banned there were several occasions of "this is your last chance" although the words banned are not used, ultimately it's the same thing as much as they can argue against the point.
