Well, actually...now that you ask. When I lived in Africa for 9th-11th grade...I met a lot of black people. Who, coincidentally...were from Africa. But yeah, good to see this happen Kyle. I'm not fan of random racist comments either. I mean, I get how it can sometimes be an inside joke between friends, and that's no problem, but the minute someone takes offense, regardless of the "stupidity" of their reaction the comments must stop. I've got a Jewish friend here in college and we always make jokes about him being Jewish, but it's alright between us because they make fun of me being Asian. But before I ever make a joke about him being Jewish, if there is ANYONE else around that we don't normally hang out with, I ask to make sure they won't be offended before I crack my joke. Just keep in mind not everyone is as tolerant as you might be. --------------------   | ||||||||

Nigger can refer to anyone, but it stems from racism against blacks in this country. It's by and large a black term. I take lots of offense when some white people use the term. I'm from a mostly black area and went to a mostly black school before college and most white kids don't understand the term nigger. I come to college and there these white girls screaming it at parties cause they just know it as something in hip hop. They don't know racism. And I could go on about the term African-American (I don't have a problem with what you're saying and like all my black friends agree), however, there are some number of Africans around, I have several black friends from Africa. One of the guys I live with is from Ghana and two of my other friends are from Morocco and Ethiopia. There are plenty of people in America from Africa, especially in college. --------------------  | ||||||||

all im going to say is black people are more offended when white people get offended over someone using the word nigger than when a white person says it. Not to mention most blacks arent even offended by it, they just don't want someone who's not their "brother" to call them that. Blacks use nigger, why can't whites.....o and. In states like Georgia and Arkansas and the other southern states, calling someone nigger is just how it is. Its not even meant to be racist. Seriously. They have a fair few in France though, when I went to Paris on a high school trip I was talking to one on a bus and all my friends were like WOAH U SPEAK FRENCH GUD and I was just  There is so much controversy over racism and political correctness today it's unreal. I think that in any case, we can decide between ourselves wether something is offensive or not in racial context without being the british government and resorting to something like banning nursery rhymes. But all manner of things on that borderline should be avoided anyway. There were no black farmers around me and my school had one family that mom was white and dad was black. I think like 3 kids. They were basically the same as everyone else. No special privileges or problems. I don't understand the racist remarks a lot of the time, cause basically it didn't exist here. Religious racist remarks really upset me. I think everyone should try to be tolerate of others.
