Brilliant. Despite a 1.5m loss it was epic, especially learning how the clues worked afterwards. The master was especially impressive. Not sure about the whole TS/IRC/CC thing. Maybe next time we could all be in one TS channel and use different CCs for our teams?

For the 1/2 things I was there for, was completely awesome. I loved running around in the spartan uniform + killing like 5 people in fally, lol. Wish I could of made the whole event + all the other days but nothing I could do there. Cannot wait until next years Gene, hopefully it's as good if not better than this years (even though I was only there for 1/2 events).

That's what I wanted Keanu.
When the teams aren't communicating its not fun.
I wish we could find a compromise.

I have no criticisms and so feedback will be minimal.

It was good fun, nice times, nice teamspeak usage, most WG people I ever seen together (which kinda blows as I've not missed an event for 4 weeks! Where are you all?!?!) and just overall fun.

Thanks, you've put a lot of time into this. (Also, poems were great!)

No no no. Ts was vital for team talk. Would have been a lot worse to type everything we were talking about. Sorry, but disagree totally there.

We had a lot of discussions, that in words, would have been a couple of essays lol

I think TS was a vital part for stokenut, darth and I to communicate.
We all had mics so it worked out quite well.
Don't change that part in the future.

In regards to the actual quest, brilliant. It was probably one of the most enjoyable hours I've spent on rs, and I think the difficulty of the riddles was just correct. The master riddle, after knowing the location did fit well.

Was fun. Haven't been on RS for a month, showed up late, and had to team, but Zeth and I made it work wub.gif

And we really did solve all the clues happy.gif

I know you must have spent a good amount of time choosing the locations and making up the riddles, so thanks and good work Gene hash.png

True, but nothing wrong with it I suppose.

Our turnout was amazing, and even though we lost a few for the photoshoot it was still amazing.

It was great.

I think it is pretty important for teams to be in their own separate teamspeak channels. It makes communication so much easier.
It was neat being on a PvP world as it added to the challenge - you had to avoid being killed by other teams.
The clues were great. Some may have seemed really hard but once you started working it out they made a lot more sense. I thought 'you' was a pretty lame answer but oh well tongue.gif

I don't want to have to wait another year for the next one :<

Sorry lordy undetailed cos i was just turning my pc off.

Teamspeak was needed it wouldnt have been half of us fun without it as we couldnt have laughed as much as we did. But irc was needed for clue 4 so how you did it was the best way.

Nice bit of asslicking there keanu.

It would have sucked if we were in the same TS room, we needed the communication in our teams and no doubt there would have been people trying to troll / mislead in the ts.

Our team went to:

Wizards tower
underground pass
Ruins of utzer
Wilderness monastary
Desert treasure skeletons
Port sarim
Port pharmasyst
lunar place

and stuffs in search of lordy,

We had to be given the orchid password and got "staff" by accident.

We were trying to find the answer to the master riddle and it seemed like the underground pass place, the quest reward for such was "ibans staff". I thourght the passwords together may have been part of the clue :L So we worked out that one but not the way it should have been.

We looked up the names of the four guys in tipit and bryan went to get the name of one and we just tried all of the words that they said.

We came close to coming second or third but got stuck on the final clue, I thourght it may have been Genes house, as i know he has like loads of underground dining rooms- so we spent some time trying the house portals, Games room was on the list but we visited it last.

Was good fun, i think Tom and Tom were freezing and stuff in welfare gear whilst bryan tried to figure out the little riddles. We knew the first two lines were anograms but we cba to figure it out tongue.gif

I lore searched the saradomin 27:4 but i checked the saradomin lore "20" not "27" which led us to wizards tower. Although without other hints i doubt we would have picked up on the games room reference.

The whole master riddle sounded a bit religiously, and i watched HL teleport. We tested the teleports and narrowed it down to a lunar thing, so one of us went there whilst i checked wilderness monastary. Although he knew our tricks and teleported twice.

Meeeep :L

For those of you wishing to communicate while remaining in parent channels I have a solution.

It requires the use of Mumble and a Mumble server though,

But you can configure Mumble so that you can all be in sub-channels and then you can set a keybind so that it transmits to all channels within a parent directory (eg keybind CAPS LOCK to transmit to your channel and LEFT ALT to transmit to everyone)

I also think that separate, team TS channels were an intrinsic part of separate team success.
Randy, Kevcross, Sean and myself all had mics and discussed lines and lines of each clue in depth as we were madly running around RS checking locations out. With the CC it would have taken EVERYBODY longer.

With this in mind, it would have taken far longer for the clan quest to happen without separate channels, making it possibly in excess of 2 hours long.
Our length of 75 mins was absolutely perfect.

Seriously Gene, well done dude. You completely and utterly destroyed last years. I just don't want to imagine the Clan Quest in like 2015 when it will be so intellectual and difficult@!@! biggrin.gif

One word sums up last night: "epic". x
