July 14th 2007: The day I successfully hosted my first event.



My first ever WG event - Brimhaven Agility. My first planned event (Fishing Trawler on July 10th had to be cancelled due to an RS server issue).


July 21st 2007: The day I graduated.

September 19th 2007 The day WG made me their newest Skills Leader.




February 8th 2009: The day WG made me their newest Council Member.

I really do hope that this doesn't come as a surprise to anyone. I made this public at the Clan Meeting last weekend and have told the large majority of you of my decision when I made it with Gene 6 weeks ago.

I have served you as best I could for 1 year, 3 months and 8 hours to the time of this post.
I would like to think that I have been a Council member who will be remembered for the good he has done... although in reality, I think that this is a false hope.

I'd like to think that i've acted fairly throughout my time as one of your leaders, assisting where possible.

I would like to think that i've always been committed to WG.

Call it a little... morbid... and gloomy... but whilst the above is what I aimed at when I took up the role... I doubt i've fulfilled those aims. I know that I have not been the leader that I hoped to be.

Forgive me. I did the best I could. Being in charge of people at the age of 16 and having to make difficult decisions about the welfare of those people is very difficult.

This has been a MASSIVE learning curve for me and I say it with a warm heart that WG's support, and criticism, will shape the person I will become.


Unfortunately, my time has now come. Although my situation has improved in the past few months, in 2 weeks and 2 days my A Level exam period begins. If i fail these exams I lose my university placement for next year = I lose the Game of Life. That will not happen, but as such I can't promise WG all that time that I have previously spent on you.


I want to quickly show you all some of my best moments in WG:

At the top of this topic is my WG History to this date.
Today is the day I finally post my 2 weeks notice. What is this? It is the end of my time as one of your leaders, but it is not the end of my WG history..

This is not goodbye. This is not the end. I will still be here to annoy you all, as I, the annoying, singing cakemaster, will be taking Elite Guardian.

I'm running out of words, so will leave you with this quotation that sums everything up. Sadly, the author is unknown.

A goodbye isn't painful unless you're never going to say hello again.

It's been my honour to serve you all, although I will continue to serve where needed, and especially to Gene + Rach, who will be hard pushed when I do step down in 2 weeks.

PLEASE give them the support they need and deserve. It won't be easy.

My last 2 weeks will be spent sorting things out and tutoring Rach to make sure she can successfully lead alongside Gene when I step down.
I will also want to tie up all of the loose ends. Winter Awards included...

George,

Its been a great few years, I know we both joined within a week of each other and I would like to think that over that time we've been pretty close friends. It's been great to work aside you at times, and it's been really good to see your work as council.

Don't look back on your regrets, look back upon the achievements you had during your time in leadership (like the Skill Olympics that were extremely successful )

Good luck with the exams, you'll do great!
