The clan is slowly dying. Members and leaders are leaving. You're slowly losing power.
Kill WG now and end on a high before you slump into a depressing low and nobody remembers WG because they just faded away.

It's so embarrassing right now to admit to anyone I used to be a leader of this clan. WG is becoming a joke.

That's how I feel and I'm entitled to have and express that opinion. No flames please.

Yeah no thanks to you. Our clan is in a slump but we'll get out of it. Maybe you know that WG has knack for getting back on our feet. Maybe you just want us to die before we're back and better than ever? And you would be no part of it tsk tsk. I used to respect you happy.gif That's just my opinion.

Yes, WG is dieing. Doesn't mean it will die, but it's getting to that point. As much as I love you guys over at council (including the ones who have left), not enough is/was getting done, and problems weren't, and continue to not be properly addressed or delt with.

Quite frankly I think you need to either listen to Lordy and Tmal and their posts in H&G, or if that's to difficult to accomplish help convince Lordy or even Rick to just come back and take the reigns once more, whether for a temporary basis or otherwise.

Edit: Just for clarification, I don't mean to say WG is literally about to die- just lacked a better term to use. What I meant is that WG is in one of those deep "slumps" again that over the years it has constantly fell into. This time however, WG doesn't have the leadership backbone like it previously did to stop it from completely crumbling; that's why something really needs to be done.

To be completely honest I thought that was what was happening when I saw all the "Elite people" leaveing.

But just because we are in a slump we are not gona end it here....
Wg will come back we still have members we still play, we'll be alright.

If anyone you steve should know this is just a cycle of Wg i dont think it will ever completely die...

What is it with the old "I used to respect you" bollocks? That's like 3 WG guys this week that have told me that. That's partly why I left in the first place because there was no respect to begin with. Members, even leaders, are all just opts.

You all go on about WG being "like this" and going in a cycle of being a complete and utter failure before rising to power again. But what good is that if you're just going to get power again and lose it, so in 12 months you'll be in this position again?

WG is an embarrassment at best right now. WG isn't doing to just "die" i know that, I'm not stupid. You're all too ignorant to accept that. But perhaps you should consider at least becoming a skills clan before turning into a joke like Tunescape or something.

Oh I just never thought that you'd leave and then go on about WG like this. Was this post really constructive criticism? You contradict yourself when you say "I know WG isn't going to just die" yet you tell us to close the clan now while we're on a high? And respect? You should've known about the lack of respect you'd get as council, and you still applied so its your problem. Council aren't supposed to be in it for the props Steve, they're in it to help the clan day in and day out cause they love it. You were warned about it, you just couldn't take it.

You're the only joke around here mate.

If members want to be happy, and by doing is keeping the clan alive anyway possible, let them be. I'm not going to stand in anyones way and neither should you with some of the negative comments, like many of current members (yes there is current members who are bringing the clan down) and ex-members have been displaying lately.

Someone said earlier that WG used to be about what mattered on the inside and not what people saw from the outside. Well congratulations on proving that point stoke by saying you are embarrased by what other people may think of you.

Leadership definitely has more than they can handle right now and I would be willing to come out of retirement (leadership retirement) that is, and try what I can to get this clan back where it belongs.

There are entirely too many issues for one person to tackle and it seems that one person (Evil) is leaving, so now who's going to handle and run the clan?

Everyone I've talked to about WG has said that Abs is always too busy. Is that any way to lead? He's got an awful lot on his plate and when I heard he was given the reins, I was happy for him but was concerned about the clan's well being.

WG IS in fact slumping but it can be turned around rather quickly if people are willing to shut up, listen, and go back to basics. Seeing what I can, knowing what I know, and talking to people that are here, I seriously doubt any of it will happen. There are entirely too many troublemakers, whiners, complainers, and FAR TOO MANY chiefs for so few indians.

All you have to do is ask, I'm usually around. I'd be happy to help...but it's going to cost you. cool.gif

WG has come out of many slumps because we had a primary leader who cared enough to step up to the plate and make decisions.
I don't see that happening now, there is too much apathy on their part.
Sometimes you can't just ride things out.
You have to take charge and shake things up. I offered to help out but I was told "No thank you"

It will take someone with strong faith in this clan to see us through this. As of right now I don't see that happening.

I would LOVE both of Rick and Jenny to come back into a leadership position. And Jenny, who said that to you, because I'm pretty sure 99% of the clan would welcome you back with open arms. Jenny I know you are an amazing leader as I have seen it, but I am sure Rick would do an equally superb job.

By "on a high" I mean to say that the clan world doesn't realize what deep shit WG is in right now. So you can play it off as just disbanding rather than dying.

I made this while in a more-pissed-than-usual state of mind regarding WG. Rick and Jenny's comments both say what i feel in a better, more mature manner.

Stoke that is a ballsy thing to say. Wg shouldn't be closed but the high was when Wg pulled 70 or so to the war in CWPL.
If Wg wants to go back up again you will need to go back to what it was when Wg was striving to pull 50 to wars and pulled 30 instantaneously to hour prep wars.

if WG wants to return to its former greatness, we must first think about what made WG great in the first place.

to me it was kenshln. that guy is a winner and did what he had to to win, even if it meant the unpopular decision of calling off raids/mini wars etc when 40 or so people were called.

im still of the opinion that a clan can never get a morale boost from anything other than a victory from a wilderness battle.

if WG is to survive, i strongly believe that you need to improve your warring ability. i then suggest declaring on a clan that you know you can beat, yet a clan of some reputation so the community knows about it and WG's members can feel proud.

search your feelings abs the man jew, you know it to be true.

Lops, you're right Mike was a huge influence on this clan, however, I believe the ultimate downfall of the clan came when they started worrying about their war rankings and their ranking on RSC rather than the community.

I think they should focus more on being a clan, being a unit, being friends before being an army. If you have those things, warring will not only be welcome and simple, but fun and very likely...a success.

You're talking about morale boost from a wilderness victory? Look around Lops, there is no wilderness anymore. If there is no wilderness, how can you guard something that isn't there? wink.gif

Community is one thing, but people just plain LIKE winning. It doesn't matter if anything is really gained, but, honestly, everyone liked raids. I will admit that Jagex being a bunch of stupid idiots has eliminated what I consider to be a raid, which makes things much harder.

No matter what anyone says, people aren't going to join here to find a bunch of friends to be around - this is a RuneScape clan. No matter how nice everyone is, we are still a RuneScape clan, with RuneScape values, and a RuneScape mentality. Compared to other RS clans however, we may be able to be the best community wise.

I figure our best chance for having a better community is to win consistently at wars and other events, as people tend to ignore little problems when they are happy. When people get frustrated however, they get angry, and attempt to blame whatever they can, be it the forums, other members, Jagex, or anything else that is around.
