So the new call of duty has been out for a few days, they've gone back to the original creators of 1, 2 and 3 a bold move. They then again took it back to World War II.

My question is, which do you think will be better, More successful and Overall the better Game?

Basic Game facts:

CoD4:

CoD4 has been voted game of the year in 2007 and has continued to be one of the most popular games of 2008 closely followed by halo 3 and various other games. The game itself is based in real time, meaning it represents most of the modern days and guns, it also is based off of usually the USMC (United States Marine Core) V.S Terrorists or the SAS (Special Air Service) V.S Russian forces with terrorist tactics. This game was the first of the Call of Duty's to bring to light different tactics, ranking system, new points system and the idea of 'game challenges'.

CoD5:
Made by 'Treyarch' the same people who made 1,2 and 3. The game is situated again in World War II. As ive only played the demo my knowledge is limited but, from what i understand it is basically almost the same as no 3 with better graphics, multiplayer and new maps. The guns used are oldschool guns which are often used in most World War II games such as the Thompson, Kar98k and the MP40. However one of the game-defining things that i've been told is a "Nazi-zombie attack thing" similiar to horde mode in Gears 2. Another feature is the ability to use vechiles, this option was left out of CoD4 but re-added to CoD5, it includes cars w/ mounted guns and Tanks which always add fun to a game.

Overall my decision im gonna stick with call of duty 4, but i want some people's opinions about CoD5 before i go and spend £40 odd on a game.

So yeah, gimme all your thoughtsss hash.pnghash.pnghash.pnghash.pnghash.png

I like both. If you've got good people (like me) who play both, then you should adjust just fine smile.gif

Even though I had my doubts on COD5, they are both equally great games to play. If I think about it, COD5 is a 10/10 game IF COD4 never existed tongue.gif

I own both now, and, purely judging on the Multiplayer part of CoD, I would prefer CoD4 to WaW. Both are fun but WaW is...Idk. Graphics are AMAZING but I'm not sure about the game.

I have yet to try the campaign though but I heard good things about that.

Haven't played it, but WW2 bores me. Waiting on CoD6, being made by Infinity Ward (CoD4 creators) and hopefully either modern or near future.

Treyarch just didn't do enough to change the game in my opinion. I know that it's set 60 years before CoD4 but the whole game just sort of feels similar. They only really broadened their horizons with the Nazi Zombie Survival mode (Which is epic). I was expecting more changes and a bolder move from Treyarch.

I prefer CoD4 alot more mainly because WaW in-game seems so distant unlike it's predecessor where I felt alot more involved and basically in it. It's really hard to explain through words.

I only play CoD5 for the new levels; I have nothing to do on CoD4.

Depending on how you look at it, it's alright.

CoD4 is definatly better. Overall CoD4 graphics are better.

CoD5 is a good game for people who like fast paced online play. I think CoD5 is a little more realistic but is basically the same as CoD4 since they pretty much took the CoD4 engine and stuck WWII graphics into it.

But overall CoD4 > CoD5
CoD5 Campaign > CoD4 Campaign

Treyarch could of done so much more with the campaign. I mean they could of done something with the concentration camps or many of the allied raids. They focused it on American battles and Russia's raid on Berlin, but they could of put something to do with D-day (allied invasion of Normandy) or many of the other fights in the game.

I rate CoD5 as 2.5/5
CoD4 as 4.5/5

CoD4 gameplay is overall more smooth and the graphics are a lot better.

Well, most of those have been done TO DEATH (looking at you Normandy) so it was nice to get a little variety. I for one however, would really love a game to let us experience the battle of the bulge, operation Torch, and the Italian campaign.

and African.

Actually, I think there should be a game made dedicated to the German/Japanese campaigns but not in the eyes of an Allied solder, but of an Axis solder just to show how they saw everything.

Just beat CoD5 Veteran Campaign... Kyle... the guy who fuckin designed the difficulties for CoD5 Veteran needs to be shot in the head. Multiple times. When you get to the final missions you'll understand. They're impossible and require a lot of luck.

Yeah, I know. I'm not doing Veteran till I have time and the brain will to do it xD.

Edit: Matt, Normandy was just the first thing that came to my head, I hope you get my point though that they could of done so many things with it.

Now I've unlocked the STG, CoD5 is *alot* better. Having an automatic rifle which is pretty similar to the Ak but with less recoil is SWEET! I'm also learning all the places of where to noob tube spam at the start of Hardcore S&D matches to rake up my kills (What the very top people do)

COD: WAW, it's okay. The campaign was amazing to me. The graphics blew me away and I just could not put the controller down. Much better the COD4's

Multiplayer, on the other hand, is pretttty lame in my opinion. I don't know what it is. Too big of maps I guess. COD4 multiplayer is just funner to me.

One thing I hated about COD 4 was how unreliable the claymore was, well a tleast when compared to the bouncing bettys. In 4, you could literally run past them unless they were placed a good distance from the door.

I like CoD4 much better.

CoD4 hands down is better for online play. I think CoD5 campaign was a little bit better than CoD4. But then again, I don't buy FPS for campaign, i buy them for online.

Also, I know none of you know who I am right now, but my Xbox live gamertag is "Zoo_Dane" if anyone wants to add me.

I dislike the way graphics are handled in CoD5 WaW
They basically aimed it at high end pc's, giving all mid pc's a real low FPS rate which pissed me off.
I messed with my config file after googling and now it gives me great FPS, shit graphics though.

CoD 5's campaign is seriously small, it lacks a lot of fun enhancing stuff, Such as team work. You only get one new recruit + the sarge as your team and they get boring over time.
Meanwhile, Captain Price and Gaz made CoD 4's campaign a lot more fun. Sgt Griggs too.

CoD 4 graphic, campaign and gameplay is really a lot more awesome than WaW
