This is one of those things in clan life that is extremely important. It effects every member and needs to be decided on with caution. That is why we have so much to read. It can't be shortened because of the nature of importance. Yes, I have read the warning, and I understand it fully. 2. What makes you think you can last a long term in the council? I don't see Council as a ran of ultimate glory, nor do I see it as just a position with special powers. I see Council as a rank of dedication, commitment, and massive responsibility. I understand what is expected of me should I be elected Council, and I am prepared to put in the effort needed to fulfil my duties. On top of this, I have a very good history of leadership, going from previously being the leader of a small clan, to becoming a Raid Leader within WG itself. 3. Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you highly inactive? Unfortunately yes. I will be going on holiday in June for two weeks. 4. Why are you applying for council? I am applying for Council for a number of reasons. I believe I can help both WG and the members. I can work well with the rest of the leadership team to help move WG in the right direction, helping to establish both long term and short term goals for the clan. I also wish to give back what WG has granted me, in the form of my undivided effort towards the clan and its members. Additionally I am able to take constructive criticism and improve myself. 5. What does WG need most and what will you do as a council member? - Goals - Right now, this clan doesn't know where it wants to be. We find people leaving because they don't think WG is moving anywhere. This is actually close to the truth. We are going somewhere, but extremely slowly. Establishing targets and goals for the clan, finding out where each and every member wants the clan to be in the future, is what I think will rapidly help us out of our current situation. - Punishments - Wildguard at the moment is too lenient. We let members off lightly, and this is one of the reasons we are in this mess. With every action, there is a consequence, and it’s about time we made this statement true. If people want to leech, and bring this clan down, they should be taught that what they are doing is wrong. If I am chosen for council, one of my main goals will be to work with the other council and members to come up with suitable systems and punishments to make sure people constantly skipping events becomes a thing of the past. - Inactivity - I've said this before, but we need to re-introduce frequent activity checks. Previously, when we conducted activity checks, we managed to clean out quite a few members that were bringing the clan down. In my eyes, these checks need to be brought into play once more. We need to clean out the members that are bringing this clan down. This will give us an idea of who is truly a member, and not someone leeching off the backs of the hard working members. - Team Work - In my opinion, team work is what we really need right now. If we are going to accomplish anything in the next few months, we need to work together. WG needs to be a clan that doesn't just agree for any random reason, but rather a clan that steps up and says "Hey! You know what? We can better this clan if we think about things and work together!” . To get out of this mess, we need to work together, if elected; I plan on working to help build team working skills that this clan will require to repair. 6. What puts you above other people applying for council? I have been in a position of Leader previous to me applying for Council. I have held the position of Raid Leader for 5 months and I would class myself as a good Raid Leader. Apart from that, there isn't much that puts me above other applicants, if anything at all. 7. What is your greatest weakness in terms of being a leader? My greatest weakness in terms of being a leader would have to be that sometimes I can take things a little too serious. This however, happens once in a blue moon. 8. Is there anything else you would like to say? I know this is kind of short, but if elected, I will do everything in my power to get WG back in the game. Have you read and understood the warning? Yes, I have read and understood the warning. 2. What makes you think you can last a long term in the council? I’ve gone through a lot, and I’m still pushing forward. I think I can last because I love this clan. The Wilderness Guardians has been my only big name clan. I’ve never left the clan for reasons such as unhappiness, but because I moved to an area where I couldn’t play the game and fell out of the circle. Once I got back into the game, I had one goal - train to the requirements of this clan. That was it. I also never give up on things I care about. Things I love, and things I enjoy, I endure to the end because I know it’ll all be worth it. Well, I know I’ll last because I know, for a fact, that when all the parts of this clan start coming together, it would all be worth it. The well being of this clan is what drives me. I give a lot to this clan already, attending wars that are always at 3-5AM. Waking up early on school days sometimes to make it to wars in the Clan Wars Arena. I want to be there for this clan that much. I know I can last because this is my clan and I won’t just leave it. This is my family and I won’t just abandon it. 3. Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you highly inactive? Yes. I graduate from high school on May 29th, and a few days after I leave for Italy to go on a two week cruise, and then will spend another two weeks in Barcelona (I’ll definitely have internet access but might not be on RS, but forums will be fine). Then I’ll return to the Philippines and will have time to just be with the clan and play. Then I’ll have to go to the US and get set up for college. Classes won’t start until the 21st of September so I’ll have all the time between the end of my vacation and then to devote to the clan. After that, it’s just college that will keep me busy. 4. Why are you applying for council? I’m applying for Council for two reasons: I want the position and I can handle the position. ~ I want the position ~ I’m applying because I want the responsibility. Whenever I’m in a group or team, I always take an active role, helping people understand what it is we, as a team, need to do. I want to be able to guide the clan in a direction that will lead us to success. ~ I can handle the position ~ I’ve dealt with stress all my life. I move around every three years, leaving behind friendships and relationships. I’ve had to be the “new kid” six times, and with college coming up seven times in my life. I can handle massive loads of work, I do it all the time. I can adapt, it’s what I’ve done all my life. I can do anything I set my mind to doing, and I’ve set my mind to helping this clan. 5. What does WG need most and what will you do as a council member? Right now, WG needs many things, but I will aim to improve these: Activity and Discipline ~ Activity ~ I’d devise plans to get people going to events. I’d let people know the rewards and consequences of being active, and not being active. I wouldn’t tolerate slackers and would keep a close eye on those not pulling their weight. I’d set up a system that will make it more advantageous for people to be more active - in everything, not just wars and PKRIs. I’d pay attention to who is trying and who’s sitting back and let people know that their efforts aren’t being ignored. ~ Discipline ~ I’d set up a system which would hold those that are holding WG back accountable for their actions. I wouldn’t tolerate the type of disruption that is going on now, but I would be fair. I’d be friendly, but direct. I wouldn’t be vague about rule breakers and rules being broken. I’d be personal and talk to people and try to work things out before things happen. I’d implement systems that would not just make people not want to break the rules, but also make people want to obey them. 6. What puts you above other people applying for council? Experience - not as a leader of WG but from my life. I’ve dealt with responsibility. I have had the pressure of everyone relying on and succeeded. I have had to make impromptu presentations for organizations on behalf of the US Embassy (while living in Cameroon). During a national crisis I, a high school junior, was tasked with managing the US Embassy’s Task Force Database which had in it a list of all Americans in Cameroon, and I had to make sure they were accounted for, and I was just volunteering, I didn’t have to do anything but I did because I knew I could. 7. What is your greatest weakness in terms of being a leader? I’m ambitious. Sometimes my ideas are to big to realistically put into effect. Sometimes I get ahead of myself and come up with great plans that would require more things than I can control. I have high hopes for thing I care about, and as devoted as I am to this clan, I might dream a little to big. 8. Is there anything else you would like to say? I’d like to wish all the other applicants good luck - JC, Mickey, Darth, Nick, good luck to all of you. To the rest of the clan, I ask you to vote for who would fill the position best. I also want to say that, although it’s not a huge focus in the time being, I’d like to encourage more Teamspeak activity. I believe this would be incredibly beneficial to the clan’s community because talking things out is easier, and far more personal than typing them out. I believe I have what is needed to get this clan back on track, and if elected I will do everything I can to make sure that happens. 9. Do you agree to provide the council with two weeks notice if you wish to resign? Yes, I will give the clan two weeks notice if I wish to resign from the Council position.
