What I'm saying is, if someone raids as much as Veph does, and gives to WG as much as Veph does, they deserve to skip a raid occassionally. Yes, you heard me.

But if it was a member that had questionable activity... someone who was less active than Veph and only appeared on occasional raids, that would be a different story.

It will be judged case by case. Veph can skip the occasional raid because he raids all the time. If someone gets lazy, there's a difference. Veph is not lazy.

I know the difference between taking a break and being lazy.

I think recruiting more active members is the key thing in this.

With a bigger ML we'll pull more people. When we pull more people, the members enjoy raids and wars more. With more members enjoying raids and wars, we'll have a better % of people vs. memberlist attending raids and wars. With more people attending fun wars and raids, people will all demand more of it. With more raids and wars WG will be better at PvP.

It's all a big cycle branching out from a bigger memberlist...

I do think we should have a more clear objective and task for our members if we want better recruitment. Having council say HEY EVRYONE RECRUIT MORRR doesn't make anyone want to recruit.

If you make a topic clearly stating the steps and techniques (I remember a topic like this before) and have a recruitment team that ACTUALLY GETS UPDATED AND DOES WORK, I think we'll see a lot more members willing to recruit. Having specific recruitment events that are fun for the clan is also an idea.

Yup.
Recruitment is the great issue we need to look at above all else.

No offence to veph, but i rarely see him at raids.

Here's where I step in and say he's almost always at the Aussie raid.
And its really mean of you to be dragging his name through the mud in public.
Like... really inconsiderate.

Once per week. Doesn't really give you an excuse to skip raids.

Please change my name to WG Pinata then put a colorful dinosaur pinata next to my name.

I burst out candy sigils that I've collected from skipping every raid to kill Corporeal Beast.

I think this is sliding offtopic.

Sure, members skip raid, but Veph isn't the first, nor the last that will.
Sure, Veph should be reprimanded because he's in a leadership position which comes with responsabilities, especially in a time of crisis.

Sure, we need recruitment, activity, but Gene, you're about to make the same mistake as always. You said you took my advice seriously, do this now more than ever. I take the risk of sounding presumptous because I think it's worth risking my credibility on this.

The issue you should be adressing before trying to get new members is keeping the members you already have.

Sure, we have to keep the members who come to 1 or 2 raids a week. But think of those who come 4 times a week if offered the chance.
These are the ones you are going to lose if you're not careful here. In fact some are already leaving, and you can't deny we came close to losing many more multiple times, and I don't see why you aren't panicking at this. If they leave IRC will be dead, and nobody will even greet the newcomers, make live the clan and even ensure recruiting if they are gone.

Alongside being casual & friendly is necessarily a serious & rigorous dimension, a side of the clan that isn't all love & smiles but also pride, strength, the will to prove you're not worth crap out there.

What are the steps to please everybody, I don't know. But there are some people in WG ,who aren't necessarily ranked, that you ought to have one-on-one conversations with before the frustration bubble exploses.

Staff had a huge meeting today. Changes are coming. So lets not have the pretense anymore that all the issues here haven't been discussed. If you are considering leaving now it would be bad timing.

most of this has nothing to do with the leaders, but the members. So why don't the members try to inspire their fellow clan mates to be part of wg.

I think we're looking at this wrong, it's not the active staff that are the problem. It's the innactive ones; who are not online to skip raids, are not there to host events, the one's who despite having a rank and playing 7 days a week host minimal events.

Zach, you're right. I want to keep the members I already have, and that's my biggest priority.
Tensions are high so I'm trying to play peacekeeper, and that's what I'm doing in this topic.

How did you come to presume I'm making the same mistake?
Just because I don't talk about preserving the current WG doesn't mean I'm not doing it.
