It will involve a war that exceeds the build-up of the Great War

Wilderness Guardians
FUCK YEAH!!!

@ Fire

*"Never walk alone." - Too close to the football thing

"Use protection." - Trust Durex

*"From the ashes and through the fire... we march." - THROUGH THE FIRE AND THE FLAMES WE CARRY ONNNNNNNNNN

But the others are good

I noticed a lot of clans have Latin mottos. I don't know much latin, but I know "Semper Paratus" - which means Always Ready - isn't taken yet.

I'm biased to a particular style.
I call it fantasy English.
Something I would expect from a knight.

Sayings like "Never walk alone" would sound a million times better to me when converted into the more chivalrous medieval tongue. (And I realise this is just my taste)

"Ride not in solitude/exile"

"Fear nothing, friend, you are home."

OR

"Fear nothing, brother, you are home."

OR

"Fear not the darkness, nor any enemy, you are home."

"Come back with your shield, or on it." <- Direct quote from the movie "300". Not original, but it's better than "This iis SPARTA!" hash.png.

That's a pretty good idea, Gene. We should practice that sort of tongue, seeing as RuneScape is a fantasy mmorpg. It doesn't seem too archaic or outdated for this sort of thing.

*"Until our swords shatter and our shields break."

I really liked that one!
But I say we need a new motto. The clans can seriously say things like "The Wilderness Guardians failed, I mean, where is the wilderness?", but it will get better with a good motto to like explain our name.

"'Tis not his sword but his honor that slays the wicked."

"I am Guardian for I am brave. Against the legions in the shadows I ride.

'our mouth is as strong as our sword'
this refers to us being a great community.
'as long as we last, we will defend our brothers'
same as first reason

"Hail, brothers!" <- Was inspired by the famous greeting, "-Crosses Sabres-", used by The Sabres.

"Hail, brethren!" <- Variation of the above.

"Hail, Guardians!" <- Simple, but seems effective as a greeting or spam.

"Hail, the mighty Guardians that stand before you." <- Longer version of the above.

"Brothers in arms, we shall never falter, nor shall we perish." <- I think this is nice, shows fellowship at the sword and unwillingness to be brought down.

"Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered!" <- Direct quote from the movie "The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King".

THey need to be short and snappy, not like a whole sentence, otherwise we can't really spam them during a war lolz.

"Lest honor may be lost."
"Enemies of the Wicked"

^ Two of Firelion's that I really like. smile.gif

Then, I like the shortest ones I came up with. They could be greetings in homage to The Sabres. They could be used before and after raids/wars.

"Hail, Guardian!"

"Lest honour may be lost" <- Seems like a good one, Firelion's idea. Also, I think "honor" should be spelled in the old english sense. Actually, I'm pretty sure that is the correct way to spell it over there in Great Britain, unless I'm mistaken.

"Fear nothing, brother"

"Ride not in solitude" <- Lordy's idea, pretty good.

I really like 2 of the new suggestions.

Firelion's "Enemies of the Wicked"

and Multi's "So Others May Live" or possible re-phasing it since I keep doing that in my head to "That Others May Live"
(isn't that an actual military motto? I feel like I've heard it before...which is why I like it, its memorable and familiar)

Both are short and easily spammable and both speak to WGs anti rpking stance.

All his mottos were from military origins, I think.
Missed one, Matt: "The Few. The Proud. The Wilderness Gurdians." lol

I used to like "Guardians unite". Simple, but unity is all you need. It's more of a war cry than a motto, though.

But it just kicked ass, walking up in the wild, the leader calls out

"Guardians unite",

and the tower goes up,

"Unite!
Unite!
Unite!
Unite!"
