Fucking lolz, you pick 7 AM MONDAY morning when people are either getting ready for school or at school already.  Not sure how you expect most of WG to be telling their mom (most likely) that they going to scape before school starts.

If YOU hadn't fucked up and had to push the Anniversary back yet another week it would have been held on MLK day.  The day when most Americans don't have school/work.  You're attendance would have been much higher then.

Your whole topic is hypocritical and insulting.  You want people at 7 AM before school.  Fair enough, say they might have 30 minutes at max then assuming their school is late (mine started at 7:22).  You want people to get up early for 30 minutes?  I'd love for you to find an American who can spend 2 hours in the morning BEFORE school to play Runescape.

Also, if you had actually planned and been prepared and held the Anniversary in December more people would be able to attend because it would have been Winter Break.  If you had done that I probably would have attended all the Anniversary events as I have for the past 2 years but this year poor planning has led to poor performance with no one but yourself to blame.  Don't take it out on Americans just because you messed up.

You/re ungrateful. (keep it clean)

Time to solve this. Pick a decent time. If your going to make a war do it on a saturday so its sunday morning. and vice versa for early aussie times.

At the end of the day you should all just move to britain +)

Do you really think dedication is nothing more than waking up early?
Please, as if people (especially the younger members) have nothing to do at 7am on a Monday...
And with what Joe said, it's pretty insulting.
Being all "the Aussies are revolting against the Americans!!11!!!" is the kinda shit that tears the clan apart (and it wouldn't be the first time, huh?)....

Stop playing the blame game.

my schedule:
wake up 6:00am
6:15am shower
6:45am Eat
7:00am check forums etc
7:20 amgo to school
7:40 amschool starts
3:00 amtrack
5:00 am home, play rs/watever

point is, at 5:00am i give my time to wg, all the other stuff is to help me succeed in life. My parents are also a big part of life, and have big restrictions
waking up at 4:00am on school day would get me grounded.... especially if at 4:00 i was playing runescape

I think that we should return the favour.. They have been doing it for us so now its our turn.
But you shouldn't skipp school, a jobb or anything else for a important raid, war etc.
Thats my opinion.

Well, I've been on both sides of this argument having lived in Manila for my final year and being in the Aussie timezone.

I feel the pain of the Aussies because it is a little insulting to put in that effort and then when it's at a time where you don't have to stress nobody else shows you their gratitude.

On the flip side, you have to understand that 7:00 AM is roughly the time people are waking up for school. School generally starts at 8 AM, so you wake up at 7:00 AM to shower, get dressed and eat breakfast at a comfortable pace.

I'm inclined to agree with Joe simply because this could have been avoided. Had this been planned earlier the MLK weekend could have been used to allow the Americans to wake up at that early hour with no repercussions.

You also have to realize that this isn't the exact same thing as a war or a raid. Wars or raids happen often enough that if people don't show it's not like we end up below double digits. But you're picking a Monday morning at 7AM when people have school for one of our most important events of the year...

I mean realistically now, if every Aussie didn't show up to 4 or 7AM events we'd lose a handful of numbers, but the Americans make up the bulk of the memberlist. I'm talking strictly numbers here.

And look at it this way, if you have school at 7AM on Monday morning and instead of getting ready for school you're playing RS for WG, it's not JUST dedication you have, it's also a small problem.

Ok, this shit is wrecking the community.
It's childish and un needed.
I'm sorry Gene but most EST and the like have school at 6 or 7 am and not many of us feel like getting on RS that early on a weekday, it just can not be done.
I for one have to get up at 6AM and have to be in class by 8am with a 1 hour bus ride, meaning I can't attend seeing as all my time is spent getting ready which when I'm done it's 6:45am and I have to leave.
I'm sorry about the way you feel but don't plan important events on weekdays that early.
If it were around an agreeable time then yes, we would make it.

This is getting off track.

Obviously Eugene isn't saying you should all skip school to come to events.

What he is saying is there are people who wouldn't wake up early, just interrupting their sleep, to come to an important event.

Eugene has always been a person to say RL comes first.

If he really did expect everyone to come to wars so often, we would be pulling 90% of our memberlist, but our memberlist would be alot smaller.

So you all need to calm down and take a breath and don't get all shitty over a post.

That's true but I don't think most members would interrupt their school lives or work by not getting a full nights rest to attend an event.

Trying to figure out of this topic was intended as a compliment for the aussies... or a rant against the americans, but anyway..

I just looked at the sign ups for this event.. how many people that said yes did not show up? It's obvious from the sign ups that this event probably should of been rescheduled before the event was supposed to take place.. and considering most of the reasons had to do with school.. the plan for rescheduling is as simple as picking a day when there is no school.

So what I'm saying is... The sign ups warned of low attendance, which is the entire reason for having sign ups in the first place I believe.. So that you can see if the event time works... this time obviously didn't work.

I'm up at 5 am almost everyday, even on weekends. I come on and do WG stuff with my coffee usually. I am off and on cause I have so much going on here during the 6 to 8 am with helping cook or do whatever. That just happens to usually be a rough time for me.

But to put nation against nation is just wrong. Gene you founded WG to be a world-wide clan and know the difficulty that sometimes that can bring with events. Venting your anger is fine.

I think the only valid reason for not showing up would be because you're getting ready for work/school. Even then, the school excuse should only work for CST and EST, as most American high schools' bells ring at around 8am.

You have to understand that American school system is much different. I wake up at 5:30am to get ready everyday and I'm in school by 7am.

Also the fact that almost every Aussie in this clan i can think of is well passed the 18yo age, it's called college. You set your classes for like 9am or shit.

We can't just skip school fella, don't see why your upset.

If it was 7am on a Saturday or Sunday, you'd definitely see 10+ EST kids there. But on a Monday morning where we have school, absolutely not. This post was unnecessary.

Why dont we just change the time for the american timezones raid. cuz ik most people who live in the eastern timezone stay up all night to attend the aussie raid. i dont mind the time its at now cuz i used to always attend until school started. i just say we change the timezone which is being complained about to make everyone happy biggrin.gif

Oh and the topic Title "Aussie Uprising"
Hell no Gene.

Are you kidding me?

If it were 4am EST it would make much more sense, but noooo you wanted a better timezone for Europeans so you fuck over Americans.

This isn't about sleep Eugene. You're conflicting with our day. Our life. I'm out of the damn house by 6am. You are way over your head with this one.

I understand that you are angry, thought I don't see why. It would have been best if you kept it to yourself.
You brought this upon yourself.

Joe do you realise that every single Sunday war is a Monday morning for us?
You take that for granted, so I'll enjoy my lovely sleep-in.

Bullshit, you skip virtually every early morning war. I can't remember how many times you've apologized/made excuses for why you missed the war or why you won't be there.
Don't pretend like you actually do something when you don't. Along with that, don't expect anyone else to do it either.

@Zooby, who said we want you at wars anyway? hash.png Well done on being the first rookie to ever die at the Veteran War. tface.gif

@Aussies/timezone, I would never expect anyone to get up at 6 AM for a war on a school day. If you want that's fine if you don't that's fine to. What I would NOT do though is make a topic called American Uprising and bash a group of people because I made a mistake and am pissed off about it.

Cause that could really effect GMT attendance. The balance we have atm shouldn't be fucked with imo
