That's wrong as well. Randy made the suggestion in the suggestions forum, and it had a lot of positive feedback. Lordy saw this, and thought to make his clan happy, he'd make T-Shirts. He isn't even making profit unless he sells a certain amount of shirts, and the profit he even does make, is VERY little. You should just close the forums and shut up, Dan. Eugene does alot for WG involving real life, the real life videos, meetings and now the T-shirts, and alot of this gets him flamed or disrespected or mocked by people from outside the clan, especially on forums such as RSC. Therefore I think the reason he reacted so strongly was because maybe he didn't want people outside of the clan knowing about the t-shirts? (Although this post in H&Gs, which is publically viewable kinda reveals it as well), or maybe he was worried about his and the clans reputation regarding a RuneScape clan making t-shirts. If Gene wanted everyone to know about the t-shirts he could've posted in Guest Talk, ex-members might have wanted to buy a t-shirt or two, he might even have made money from it, instead he kept it inside the WG forums. Not only was he worried about his reputation, but it was also his trust you betrayed, even if it was a small insignificant thing, it is an unwritten rule to not show anyone outside of the clan parts of the forums they don't have access to, it's just common sense. Postage costs are high. I don't think it will be profitable to him. If it is profitable, I think it will only be giving back about 1% of what he has taken out of his own pocket to support this clan. Please don't flame him for stuff like this. Lordy is doing us a service by designing, taking it to a shirt printer, going back to pick up the shirts, taking them home and sorting them out, and then dealing with us paying him. Then he will be packing each one, addressing it, and back to mail place again. This all takes his time. His time is valuable. How much does he get paid for all he does on something you think is simple. Let me tell you $000000.00 NOTHING!! Maybe this has something to do with why to Lordy the t-shirts are important. You have to think about it from his side too. A 24 hour suspension is the smallest punishment you can get. It could have been a ban but this is what I said in Level 4:
I even made it private so you would suffer no shame. And even further, I told you that I still respected you and liked you. And now you are leaving? Dude, don't use that as an excuse, it was actually nothing, and you are making it seem like something big. You got away with the easiest punishment I could give. I even said you could attend events. Just no forum and IRC for 1 day. I'm pretty sure you could survive without forums and IRC for one day. And one last thing, I was not at all angry. In fact I was trying to be polite as I could in giving you that punishment. And shame on WG for jumping on me without getting the right story. Obviously nobody remembers what happened with Crucio. If the rule was published that we can't take screenshots of the forum, then its fair that its met with some form of penalty, just for safety measures. But really, don't leave over this. Its in the past now, everyone knows it was a misinformed mistake, there's no reason to hold onto it.
It seems like people keep forgetting that lordy has paid for the forums and public website for god knows how long (including profit made on rs going to drop parties, the clan house etc). If you're too tight-fisted to give 20p? away, you really need to open your mind. It was about a t shirt and not anything that would put the clan in any danger. I think this was taken to the extreme for something that was so minute in comparison to other things I've seen going on and that have went on in the past. It's not like he took a screenie of war details or anything. I don't agree with the punishment but I do believe in security. I guess there should be a line that has to be drawn but was this the line? I'm not too sure on that either. So if I were to take and share a screenshot of something in Random Forum, I'd be suspended/banned? I don't think I've ever seen a sticky anywhere, nor have I seen the "rule" that states that no screenshots should be taken from the forums. It's hard to justify a punishment for something that's not written in stone somewhere for the members to read or be reverted back to for clarification. Again, I understand security, I'm not saying that at all. Pete, to leave under these circumstances isn't the right way to go about it. Perhaps if you were to speak to someone about this issue, it could have been resolved. I mean, now you know the "rule", where perhaps you didn't before. We're going to make mistakes, we're human. Nobody is perfect. You made an error in judgement but you shouldn't leave on account of that. The whole inactivity thing could be remedied by perhaps taking a little break to get things in order. I really don't know how to help you with that. I think you should stay and see what the future holds for this clan. From what I've heard and seen, things are looking up with alot of changes coming. I'd hate for you to have put your time in only to let it go at one or two minor mishaps or lacks of participation. You're doing yourself a great disservice to leave at this stage of the game. The choice is yours ultimately. Nobody can make it for you. If you'd like to talk further, please, feel free to get a hold of me on the forums here or in IRC. I'd be more than happy to talk with you about what's been going on. Perhaps the two of us can think of a way to make you happy to be a Guardian once again. -------------------- | ||||||
