But never the less, the math part was easy X1 - X2 = X3 -> X3 / HP = ANS

Tbh i had to do the security code 2x, i couldn't see it.

Tbh looking at that may put off potential members from joining. I like the first question, but the other two seem farfetched

Looking back at the 3rd question, it seems fine Robbie, I was just exhausted the first time.

As to the people who say it's too much work, seriously? 30 seconds with a calculator is hard? It's not like we're asking for vector calculus or differential equations, this stuff is pretty common knowledge.

Something I forgot earlier:

Aren't the people that post porn actual people anyway? I'm sure there's at least a few of them that can do those questions. Make them Runescape related, then potential members know about the subject and porn posters don't so can't register.

The majority of them use bots to spam it up, this is intended to avoid bot spamming, there is no stopping to human spamming without making it real tight/lawsuite.

if you cant answer the questions you are fucking retarded and need to stop playing runescape.

Simple as that. Personally if you don't no what a hypotenuse is just google the word ffs. Seriously, if you can't spend 5minutes filling out an application to our forums why are you on the forums anyway......

Great Idea Robbie. Personally I love it.

Although the questions are piss easy to some of us, to others they might not be. It looks as it is a requirement to have that knowledge if you want to register on this website; let alone join WG.

If you want to weed out bots, I'm sure the first question is enough.

First off, Thank you Eugene for being the first person who disagreed with me civily. I don't take too well to being told, in TXT-speak, that my idea is going to kill us all because none of us can handle grade-school math.

Having gotten some proper feedback, it looks like:
Question hash.png1 is going to stay,
Question hash.png2 may stay, or may be changed.
and Question hash.png3 may be removed, or simplified. I really want to have three validation questions, one being a Youtube thing like what I have, and at least one being a simple math question, preferably RS-related.
The third can be a simple math or simple grammar/capitalization. Really, what I would like is to set up an application that takes perhaps 5 minutes of work, that a 12-year-old that isn't a complete dropout can complete - This will not limit our possibles much, only removing those without a clue - or those not willing to spend 5 minutes(who are just as likely to use the account once and forget about it).

I am going to add a bunch of information on the page, including little help links explaining exactly the instructions to prevent confusion.
I also am going to change the error messages - As it is now, if you fail a single one of the three questions, or the Capcha image, it gives you one error message. I will set it up with error messages for each wrong answer, so people know what they are doing wrong.

I also got a good idea from you all - Making a fairly simple test on Math, Grammar, and WG History a requirement to become a Member - You can become a Trial without it, but to become a full Member, you have to take the test and pass it with, say, 85% - easy enough as it will be a multiple-choice test with not much possibility of getting stuff wrong.

Suggestions? Comments?

I remember our old tests, I seemed to do well on them all the time, but seriously.....from what I heard hell of a lot of people failed them.....even ones IN WG.

I like that. The one test that we tried... Was pretty outdated, and I'm not even sure if it checked what was really in there... Sorry to say, I failed the test remarkably! (around 65%)
Multiple choice will allow people to at least give a reasonable guess if they know that some of the answers are wrong.

Thing is, not everyone in WG is English, so some people may have problems with Maths and Grammar, WG History sounds good though as it means they actually read the forums.

But still, a simple couple of questions about Runescape would be enough and potential members wouldn't be put off. And if you think I'm against it because I can't do them, I can do them, it's just really allot of hassle to people that can't.

I agree with this, Robbie... what you need to take into concideration is that some people will have mental disabilities such as Dyslexia. Robbie, i have Discalcular (Numerical Dyslexia) and i found number 3 difficult. Question one and two are fine but the 3rd is over the top.

You do outstanding work for this forum but this is over the top, if i was to register with the forums now i would be screwed and i would end up giving up on joining the Wilderness Guardians.

I truely hope you reconsider adding atleast number three on there and remove it.
