Surprise, Surprise .....I hate the idea of one war a month.

I'm probably the worst one in WG for wanting to go to wars too. But I'll never get any better or ever fall in love with training combat at one war a month. It just won't happen.

I like it best right now, because we have so many wars and practices going on I have alot of opportunity with lil to no pressure about my war skills. I show up, give it a try, maybe learn one thing and no one is yelling or stressing all over me. This is much better then less wars. I might never be the top war person in the clan but if you go to less wars, it is doubtful that I will ever really improve.

Btw, I have improved you just don't notice it yet. I actually get in the dd now. I know why I have the air staff with me. I have started to try binding at the last practice but not to good cause I end up away from the pile. But even as bad as I may seem to some of you, I have improved. lol

Going to one war a month would be very bad, if we all wanted that we could just go join some skill clan that does war for fun once in a while. This is not what WG roots are all about. I may have joined as a skiller, but I don't want the clan to be a skills only one. Alot of the war people are my best friends and I love their aggressive personalities.

Thank you Garrett and Dallar.

is the day you have stopped leading them.
They have either lost confidence that you can help them
or concluded that you do not care.
Either case is a failure of leadership.”

I personally wouldn't mind less major full out do or die wars. Once and a while is fine, my bread and butter is those short prep matched opts let's go out and war because we like to war not because we want a rank or to prove something to RSC but because we want to.

P.S. You at least know to put on rune, not everybody seems to know that yet.

Wg never did this many wars (Please note: I am talking 2-3+ Years back, Before clan wars arena) If you do not believe me feel free to check the photo archives of 2005,2006, Begin 2007 on the main website.

The clan world has gone through a heck of a lot of significant changes since 05/06. Back then, someone declaring on someone used to be an 'OMG ___ DECLARED ON ____@@@@' thing, they were no where near as common, however as time has progressed, so has clan's interest in warring, and so as a result the entire clan world wars a lot more than 05/06. As a result, WG, like every other clan who has some form of respect and status on RSC and in ranking tables must also prove their capabilities in wars more often. In fact, not warring someone in the 'past two weeks' is considered laughable now.

Times have changed.

And times have changed again. If you haven't noticed, PvP worlds have been out for a month or two now and several clans have switched over. Both smaller and bigger clans. The simple fact remains is that clan wars is dieing out. Yes there are still clans warring but these numbers are decreasing and with the minimal focus Wg currently has on a raids we'll just fall behind even faster.

Isn't it us nowadays who're still clinging to the past?

@Rachel: I can see what you mean and I don't recall there being bad words spoken about people who got koed or the liks. Sure if you get koed people will joke about it but it's nothing serious. Atleast you're making an effort to do your best and to improve.

-----

@Joe: I thought I bribed you to join my side in this discussion by sharing a shower with you yesterday. :@

No seriously though. Your point seems to be the same as Karl's. (which I still haven't adressed ;P) I can't really provide a counter argument to it other than the 'times are changing' one. People will always refuse to change and to tell the truth. "Back in the old days it was always better". Till something new comes round and that turns old, then that formerly new thing was the better one out of it. People always try to get what they don't have/can't have.

I don't see a valid reason for taking away another mans fun other than the changing times and to tell the truth it wasn't the reason I first started this topic.

Most newer members don't realize that WG was at its peak back when wars were a rare event (one war every month or two). I don't know why the clan world has decided that warring is suddenly so important.

I support this notion, but I doubt others agree.

think of it like this: imagine if in css you only had 1 scrim a month, is that fun?

Guys. We would do more raids, but the fault lies in your OWN HANDS. If you want successful raids, encourage your own clan. The leadership has made efforts, most of which have failed. It seems like there is absolutely no effort to return at all. The natural WG instinct on a f2p is to log or go back to skilling the second you die. No one is willing to lose rune. I'm not saying we can all afford it, but funds is something you can change. You can save up money easily.

You have a good argument, but with this clan, it would never work. Less than 50% of the clan is willing to return more than twice to ANY EVENT.

This topic is over a month old L

I guess the focus to raids has returned. But there has been no diminishment of the amount of wars we have.

What I am proposing is going to what Wg used to be. A war used to be rare. Once a month or such and members were glad to dedicate themselves to this war, get the gear for it and stay up way out of their timezone to be able to attend these wars. Wars were rare and an event that didn't happen very often so members made sure to do their best to attend this wars.

Really? I don't remember that.
