If your in it for the glory of the rank that lasts about two days then its constant bombardment of questions, concerns, complaints, endless things that require you to have answers ready to. I’ve read the rules and warning. I realize how serious this position is and the stress that it can cause. I am a Higher Guardian and I have been in the clan about 1 year. I’m mature and patient, I believe I have what it takes to handle the position. I have a microphone and am not afraid to talk openly on ts. 2. What makes you think you can last a long term in the council? I believe I can last long term in the council for many different reasons. I have experience in real life with being management. I have to hire and fire people and do reviews on their performance and train new employees. My schedule is extremely flexible. Other than just being qualified to do the position of general council, I have a passionate love for the members of WG. I would want to stay the course and see that I didn’t let those who supported me down. 3. Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you highly inactive? I don’t have anything I can think of that I can see making me highly inactive. I realize my forum activity will be increased. 4. Why are you applying for council? My reason for applying for council is to help manage the happiness of the clan. I am able to see when things might not be right or needs attention. The emotional needs of the family would be a major concern for me. I would pay attention to the small signs that people needed a friend or were struggling with some rs thing. I would try to help everyone to feel that connection to each other that keeps our members happy and wanting to stay. I would be fair and just to everyone. I feel bias treatment only creates jealousy and in the end it costs a very dear price. It can be what causes people to eventually leave. Being a good judge of intentions is really important. I would work on solving disputes rather than just giving warn levels. Warn levels are really important part of clan life, but co-existing and working together to solve issues would be better than punishment in some cases. I would lead by example. I would hope that my example of how to handle situations would be helpful. I am currently working on 100 days of combat training. I would encourage others to train combat or do quests they need to participate more enjoyable with the family. Not everyone is going to want to do every event, but having what it takes to participate is important. I would have a no one left out kind of approach to certain things. Though the level 102s might be left out of some stuff, it is important to remember that the maxed members sometimes get left out too. I would work on the blending of members. Combat level of course is very important to our clan, but encouraging the training is very tricky. 5. What does WG need most and what will you do as a council member? I believe WG needs unity the most. The feeling of being a part of the entire group. The pride of being a Wilderness Guardian. The not only out for what is best for ones self, but what is best for the whole clan. When we get together for a war, I see a great unity. I see the clan having fun and sharing in clan pride. I would like to see this brought more into other areas of our clan. Members who are shy or not known need to feel part of the main group in irc. I believe with unity we would become a more active clan. The members who have good attendance are the same members who are active in irc. I would watch for members that were once active that go inactive and try to find out why. Sometimes it is real life, but I’ve seen what anger can do too. 6. What puts you above other people applying for council? I don’t feel I’m above anyone in the clan. I welcome new members in the family quickly. I know that their having a friend is very important. I don’t feel beneath council either. I can go to any one on council and tell them I disagree with their leadership decision. I respect people and their opinions. I do not have to agree. Being able to know the difference between agreeing blindly and being respectful is very important. I can keep my opinions and views in perspective while listening to others view points. I can acknowledge when my views or opinions may not be the best ones in the situation. I also know when not to back away from them. I would always reply to every member when they pm me or any type of communication. 7. What is your greatest weakness in terms of being a leader? My greatest weakness in being a leader is giving many chances. I really want people to be able to succeed. I don’t like to see the clan giving up on a new annoying member to quickly. They may just need the structure we offer here to really succeed at being a better person. Not everyone comes from a home that is socially correct. I tend to think everyone has the ability to achieve great things. My experience is limited in irc and forum moderation. I have done some in my own channel and own forum. I would need to learn more administrative commands. I do use #irchelp when needed. 8. Is there anything else you would like to say? I know that there are many qualified people in this clan for council. I would urge everyone that is voting to vote for who you believe will do the best job. I am close friends with many of you . I would want you to vote for the best possible candidate and put friendship aside for this election. Vote for the best person for the clan. Show unity in your voting, not a popularity contest. With all my heart yes. 2. What makes you think you can last a long term in the council? I have experience and I know all about the rank. I have witnessed the jobs of all of the council members and I have seen the difficulties that they face day by day and I think that I could be a great support to the existing council and staff members, as well as the current and future members of WG. I can keep my cool and I have a lot of great ideas and as a person I am naturally very imaginative and I think that that quality is good in a council member. 3. Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you highly inactive? AS Level Exams- Mid May ---> June. - I intend to do exactly as I did last year for my GCSE exams, I will check the forums every day and do all the forum work etc, HOWEVER my attendance at normal events will be limited during the week (with the exception of important wars/PKRIs) 4. Why are you applying for council? I have experience leading other clans - I rarely speak of this now but I created a clan with the help of some friends around 3 years ago and that prospered, had its downsides, prospered again, worked up to 70 members, good clan, extremely active, fun events, ownage members. I remember the stress and the hard work I had to put in to get that clan going, but it was worth it for the amount of fun times we had. I would never trade in that experience for anything, since I enjoyed it so much. I am a "people-person", sure I have arguments occassionally, we all do. But I listen to the members and act upon their advice, suggestions. If someone pms me a suggestion I will take it into consideration and act upon it, indeed I have already done this many a time, the most recent example being that many people thought that a new tier should be added to the Defence Combat Skill of the Week, and so I added one. I also have experience in real life. I am on many school committees at the moment, one requires me to co-organise Mencap Funday (a special day of fun where disabled children come in and have a heck load of fun, giving their parents the rest they need.), it's a big task to organise. I'm also on the School Charity Committee and School Modern Languages Committee among others, so I am constantly having to communicate with people and organise people - A quality much needed in a Council Member. 5. What does WG need most and what will you do as a council member? WG needs people who can pull the clan through bad times and who have the ability to support the clan in everything that it does. I feel that I am a person who will be able to do this. My main priorities as a member of the Council would be:
I have been a skills leader/event leader since September 2007 after joining in July 2007. I have experience in leading clans before, some of you may remember my application, where I explained all about the clan Betrayed Phoenix which I founded, built and led for a year and a half. I am also very active. If you would care to look at my event count to the left you will see that I have the highest amount of events among all WG members. Whilst some of you may call that "an award picked up from hours of no-lifing events"  , in my mind it's just because I LOVE attending events. I love being with WG members.You guys are what it is all about. I have the time to spend vast amounts of time on Forum Work, heck I do a lot of it everyday already as an event leader, 2+ hours a day mostly and I am ready to embrace the demands that the Council Rank brings. I am responsible. I have done many jobs for the past council over the years and for Elias. Whether that be compiling the RS event pictures from May, June and July events and then sending them to Elias to reduce his workload or whether it be something more simple such as creating Combat Skill of the Week in an attempt to raise our combat average. I have experience with Admin CP and HTML- I made my old clans forums 2/2 times and managed them all and so I am experienced in the use of HTML. I also am experienced with IF and IPB forums, knowing how to manage them, make new forums, etc. I enjoy everything I do in WG, everything down to the menial tasks such as updating attendance and writing event recaps. Most of all I hope that I can get the chance to help WG, to help it into the future, to make it last. WG deserves it. 7. What is your greatest weakness in terms of being a leader? I do lose my temper sometimes. As humans we all do. However I have found a way to cope with this. If something does make me angry then I immediately cut myself off from the conversation/whatever it is that is annoying me. I withdraw myself until I am calm enough to be able to again be part of the conversation. 8. Is there anything else you would like to say? This is the FOURTH time I have applied for council, the first two times I narrowly lost the elections and I think perhaps that was a good thing that I didn't get council the last time. I was less experienced than I am now and I think now I am ready to devote a lot more time to WG. Although it's only mid-January at the moment, the Summer months and in particular THE END OF EXAMS!!  is rapidly approaching. I just hope you're ready to see a lot more of me during the holidays  I have the time to work for my rank if I am elected and I assure you I will not let you down. 9. Do you agree to provide the council with two weeks notice if you wish to resign? Of course I do. Yes.
