I think the no sex talk should be a Perm Rule, if people want to speak Sex talk on IRC then take it to PM. Don't let others read it, You don't know who maybe watching whether it little kids or their parents. Most of the time IRC mainly revolved round one of the following: - Sex Talk - Power Abuse - Spam It's getting pointless and alot of people dislike it so come on guys and gals cut it out. Another things if the Negativity from other players towards others. For example, If someone wants to do something their own way, they don't expect someone to say "That way sucks, your stupid for doing it that way". I am 15 years old and there are people younger then me, and trust me when I say I don't want to hear about your sex/masturbation adventures. It is disturbing, and above all else it is spamming the IRC with crap not everyone is comfortable talking about. It seems like every single time I'm in the IRC it is brought up in big conversations. Is it that hard to do that stuff in another channel? 2) Something really needs to be done with how you enforce the rules fairly. (Not going to name any names) but a few months ago I used a script in #wg where it said "yarly" when someone said "orly?." It seemed quite harmless and all in good fun, but a member decided to spam it causing myself to get kicked multiple times from the flood control before I could turn it off. I was warned by Buzz that if I ever used another script in the channel I would be permanently KBed. I found this a little harsh but I listened and haven't used another script. Then a few weeks later I was in the chat and a member had turned on a script that repeated everything I said. It was extremely irritating and annoying and it caused a large amount of spam. I was talking and it repeated me so what happened? I was given a verbal warning by a halfop to not mess around with scripts... I found this extremely unfair because I wasn't even using a script so I pmed a council on IRC. I explained the problem to the council member and and (s)he said (s)he would get it resolved. The council asked the perpetrator to turn off the script and the person refused. What action did the counci take? None, he/she simply said "I can't seal with this" and quit IRC. I don't understand why the two things are so different? Is there just extreme blatant favoritism in the IRC or something? Someone told me "Don't worry about it, they never do what they say they will." Which brings me to the point of is the lack of enforcing rules on the channel so bad that people joke about it like that? --------------------    | ||||||||||

Think about what happened when Abs set the no sex talk for 3 day rule. Everytime he left the room it was like "OMG SEX SEX SEX, LOL ABS IS GONE LETS TALK ABOUT SEX". Right now there is kind of a lack of respect going around and it is really concerning. We need to respect each other in a way that doesn't result in flexing power, doesn't result in ignoring others, and instead just revolves around...talking about WG, RS, life? This was me. If you actually recall at the time my nick was "Evil[Busy]" which means my attention is not focused on the IRC. I was actually writing a 1200 word essay at the time Ty, but in case of emergencies I was around to deal with them, in this case what you DIDN'T see was me going to the effort of talking to a half op before I left and asking them to sort the person in question out. I could not deal with it because I was busy, so I decided to delegate it rather than stay around and have my study interupted. In regard to scripts, we have warned people many times that you are not permitted to run scripts in #wg or #wg_lobby, we have sufficient Bot's to cover all the services we need. Myself, along with the other OP's/H-OP's have warned many people in IRC not to run scripts, yourself included, however there is only so many warnings we can give before taking a 0 tolerance stance. Think back to a mere week ago when Tiran000 put her bot into #wg (which no-one should do I might add) and set a script on it for !members which advertised one of her services. n She got ONE warning to remove it, soon afterwards it was KB'd from #wg. In the end the running of scripts is a totally different topic to power abuse. Anyone running scripts in #wg IS breaking the rules, and will be punished accordingly.
