I seriously hope you delete this...

Exactly what I was thinking.

Same as Simon, If I were to apply today for the first time I would have went and looked for another clan because honestly who would want to do math, watch a vid, and take a test on clan history just to join a clan they might end up staying at.

If someone truly wanted to be in the clan, they would go through with it, showing how much dedication they truly had to their clan + clan mates. neko2.gif

Just my two cents.

How could they have dedication to the clan if they haven't joined it yet?

If they didn't care enough to answer simple questions, then they're not wanted around here. Not by me, anyway.

Joining a clan is an important decision. Just randomly applying to clans and seeing which one is best doesn't really work out so well. I've looked into WG's history for a few months before I even thought about joining.

I had never heard of WG until Tmal pmed me asking if I wanted to join.

Still, even after that, you could of looked into the history, learned about the ways of the clan before deciding you wanted to join. neko2.gif

What does the history have to do with applying?

I agree with this, Robbie... what you need to take into concideration is that some people will have mental disabilities such as Dyslexia. Robbie, i have Discalcular (Numerical Dyslexia) and i found number 3 difficult. Question one and two are fine but the 3rd is over the top.

You do outstanding work for this forum but this is over the top, if i was to register with the forums now i would be screwed and i would end up giving up on joining the Wilderness Guardians.

I truely hope you reconsider adding atleast number three on there and remove it.

Although, really, you don't have to type the numbers(Using a calculator + copy & paste is easy enough to do), you do have a point. So, suggest a better question to replace it, or at least some ideas.

One thing: I really don't want to add a runescape-only question like "On what island does the dragon Elvarg reside?", but am looking for questions that, while Runescape related, can be done by someone with little to no knowledge of Runescape. Perhaps have some question that if you know the answer you can answer it easily, but if not, you can go to a linked page and get the data from that? Perhaps given a picture of Karamja island and a link to a RS map, and you are asked to name the island.

One, you don't have to *watch* the video, only copy the title. If you have FlashBlock, you won't even have to see the video!

Also, you guys are misunderstanding. I want to have a very simple, three question test to register on the forums, and on top of that, have a 25-50 question test as a requirement to become a full member. Remember, you have had like two weeks or so as a trial to try it out, and at that point you can either suck it up and do the test, or say "It's too hard" and quit.

You guys don't like question three. Fine, I accept that. So, give me some alternatives. I can have fill-in-the blank or multiple choice for the answers, and most anything for the question. Suggestions please!

The first and third ones are very RS-specific. If I was not famialiar with Runescape, how would I know these?

The second one would work, if I made the word "runescape" a link to runescape.com - You can find that information right down at the bottom of the page.

Is there anyone not on these forums that has never played runescape lol?
But I guess you're right, it could have a problem in the future for someone.

I've always though the pattern questions were easy, like
What comes next? 2,4,8,16,32,____

There is another good suggestion - However I don't know if it would be a problem for dyslexic people. If it isn't, I will certainly think about adding it(or a derivative thereof).

Robbie, the council feels that it's best to keep it to the first question.
We haven't had porn posters since you asked for RSN registration.
I think the YouTube link suffices.

Hasn't anyone realised that except for automated bots (which will get stumped by the captcha.) a question that DOES NOT CHANGE will be beaten every time if someone actually wanted to cause us harm...

Just leave the Captcha and nothing more, if problems occur we can change then.

Good?

Whats the point of the 25-50 question test for trial guardians? I mean I understand if you did all that for registeration, but really I can't see the point in making it for trial guardians as well.

BTW. You could add some clues to help people in solving them, I doubt bot would understand those.
