Im guessing I should play the campaign eventually LOL...

p.s- Just got upgraded to Silver League....I feel kind of bad because I just 8 pool people as zerg and if they live/wall off correctly, then i tech up and expand and usually still win......its kind of sad that 3/5 games I play.....i catch the other player trying to cheese me too.......its like wow......

so im going to cheese people till i stop seeing it done......hopefully in gold/plat/diamond people dont cheese every 3/5 games....

Just make sure you're distinguishing between early pressure and cheese.

Also, if you guys want to see an intensive macro battle, here's Husky's cast of TLO (<3) vs Madfrog game 2.

http://www.youtube.com/user/HuskyStarcraft.../28/GQ_VVVYqk0I

o, theres a huge difference, but proxy barracks 6pools, proxy gateways and bunker rushing/cannon rushes are retarded, and i dont feel like playing an hour(30min) long game against someone who doesnt no where to go from there

8 pool for me at least gives them a chance to wall off and defend/gives me the ability to macro up if it doesnt work lul....8 pool is still cheese imo, but i do it anyway, its so easy to not get cheesed once you realize how to counter it....

If they don't know where to go from there, it's an easy win. Those rushes are easy to stop and if you scout around your base, you can easily see the proxy.

I don't really see 8pool or 6pool as cheese.
Something like an all-in 8pool or 6pool is easily stopped except maybe by another zerg player who is going for something like a 13pool which I've been doing lately while playing zerg. If it wasn't easily stopped, zerg would be op cause you could just run that build all the time.

Imo the only 'cheese' is cannon rush on certain maps. Anything else is easily dealt with. Just remember to scout. And if you're toss/terran then build a wall. I don't know why some players don't do these things.

In other news, I'm big on immortals lately. Playing with a Protoss ground army is so much more fun than just massing voids.

Edit: I watched that TTOne and MasterAsia game, hilarious.

You'll notice mine is retardedly low, because this wasn't really micro intensive at all. In fact, it was more macro intensive than anything else, and even then, not much.

Christ what a flukey pull off, if he had actually seen what was coming when radar'ing he would have been more prepared instead of being more anti-ground. He still performed well with what he had though, almost had it.

Anyone else notice that the ladders seem to be flooded with zerg who just play completely incompetently?

I mean, I guess I shouldn't complain that much, they're free wins, but really, kinda takes the fun out of it.

Really just wish these guys would understand that 2 hatcheries in your main is not really at all viable early game, and you can really only support that many larva once you take your natural. Seen so many zerg try to 1 base play, which really wouldn't be so bad if they were going for builds that were based around that, like 1 base roach or 1 base muta, but hydras and shit? Really? Especially when they just try to tech up, instead of go for early pressure, and I can just steamroll them with some basic units, and keep the pressure on to win fast.

Really hope to start playing some better zerg soon >.<

zerg imo is the hardest to play, its all reactionary, you really cant play 1 base vs the other races either.....you have to know how to use your larva between drones and army, how to keep and have map control, keep pressure on the opponent and how to macro like a king... im terrible at zerg tbh lol

the sad thing is for the people with 100+wins and 100+losses who are still in bronze

Just bought the game, it's really fun. Been using my 50 practice matches, and so far I've won only one...but only played 3, so not bad for a complete n00b at SC.

Any tips, or places that have some really good guides, or good BOs?

It's kind of annoying that the beginner's matches have those rocks blocking off your ramp because that doesn't give you any practice in scouting early game or using early harass. You basically just turtle or lift off all your early production buildings.

Meh, anyway I'm still trying to learn all the little things. Making sure I know all the hotkeys for Terran (are they the same for Protoss and Zerg?).

Do any of you guys use macros? I've got the Logitech G110 which has 12 G-keys that I could use, but have no idea what macros would be used for in a RTS.

In any case, it's a crazy fun game (I watch a ton of replays on Husky's YT channel to try and get an idea of the more standard BOs).

My zerg isnt as good as my terran or toss, but really, the macro isnt that hard, just bind your queens and shift-V and click on the minimap for larva, hotkey hatcheries for more troops and profit. There are a few effective one base builds, but they lose effectiveness during late game, where expansions become key.

if you use a motherships "vortex" ability on a bio ball of marines or anything really and then throw your buddies banelings into the vortex, when the vortex goes away, everything in the vortex will be killed by the banelings LOL

If anyone else is heading to Blizzcon, there's a Team Liquid after party on Saturday night. Going to head there afterward.

I really wanted to get this game since i was so in love with the first one. I use to play the first one a shit load back in the days.. had around 600+ wins and 400+ loses when i was so pro at it XD but never played on the ladder :/ Was really good with Zerg and toss.. i was never good with terr but i knew how to use them somewhat.

It's a bit late right now i was going to get it when it first came out but if i did i would be hooked to it and wont stop playing it but was really busy around the time so i decided not to. Now i've got enough time so i'll be getting it around next week.

2 of my rl friends got it and are now practicing on it since they never played the first one and they want me to play it with them for some 3v3 XD so i'll see if i still got it but its going to be alittle different with the new stuff.

So was wondering is it as balanced as the old one? Since Blizz games are usually balance, except for one they got.. WoW..hash.png
