It now works for all major browsers, meaning all members can view it. Therefore, it will be replacing the Mass PM system Well, in order for it to be effective, it has to be updated constantly. Otherwise it will get ignored. Guidelines for the council 1. All new Announcements need to be linked to in the news from now on 2. I myself have to update the extended war record. (Will take about 6 hours of war tracking and such) 3. The message of the week has to be weekly 4. The links have to all be useful... remove unneeded ones, replace them with more important ones like the event tracker 5. T-Shirt purchase needs to be updated by myself. 6. We might possibly be getting achievements put in there too... MAYBE And Robbie has offered to make a new SECURE CONTENT tab, which allows ONLY MEMBERS to access it. This is a major advancement to our forums, and puts them well beyond the function of any other clan forum. From this secure content, we can mass advertise sensitive details without worrying about unwanted views. ______________ So over the next 2 days, you'll realise the announcements bar is going to play a bigger role in WG. No more ignoring it like before. No more Mass PMs, no more Bulk Emails... *less* annoying banners. --------------------  | ||

When I refresh my forums after a PM I get a pop-up. That definitely gets my attention more than just looking at the forums. Also for some people who are inactive on the forums, they may get an e-mail telling them that they do have a PM and they can then come visit them to check the PM. I am willing to do whatever is easier for the council because I know they have to be bogged down with work. Just trying to see which one would be more effective though. The banners will get a lot of people's attention though. Especially when they are bright and have half naked people. --------------------      | ||
