My problem: On the windows vista log on screen, the system goes into rediculous lag to the point where if I type in my password, it takes a minute for the full thing to appear in the text box and verify my password. This used to be performed in real time so sometimes gone screwy. Also, the security screen that pops up when you run an "untrusted" program generates a ton of lag in the cursor movement and to my knowledge does not go away until i somehow move the cursor and click on the "i trust this program now run it" box. That gets rid of those annoying popups that you shouldn't need anyway. That is, as long as you aren't DLing porn 24/7. --------------------   | ||||

I strongly suspect that your hard drive might be a bit full, or there are programs running in the background that are sucking up CPU. Hit Ctr-alt-delete, open up the task manager, and look at what your usage is, and what's the biggest blood sucker. Give me any other information, I hope I can help you. I'm going to give the sfc thing a run. Sam, I have XP as my secondary boot platform. I choose not to use unless I have to because to tell you the truth, I can see a difference in performance so far between the two on my laptop. -------------------- | ||||
