When It comes down to Activity and Loyalty, whats more important........?

Say your a clan leader or just a regular member recruiting for your clan, and you had a choice between 2 members but was only allowed one, which would you rather choose?

QUOTE

Member Y is a renowned Clan Hopper, but in his past clans he attended around 5 Pk trips a week.

Member X is known to be very loyal, in his last clan he stayed there for over a year but only attended 2 events per week.

Would you rather have "Member Y" because he's a no lifer and attends every pk trip he is extremely active. Would you be willing to give him a chance?

Or

Would you rather have member X in your clan because he is a very loyal member, but can only attended a few events per week?

Discuss.

My Response:
X, assuming he has some reason for attending few events. If he is like some people that I know I would rather have the clan hopper since this kind of person is not really loyal to the clan anyway.

I would rather have X because I identify with that choice.
I do have a life and won't be at 5 events a week, but I am
fiercely loyal to those I care about or to anyone that I have
pledged loyalty to.

Loyalty is far more important to me. I would do things that I normally wouldn't do or say for someone I'm loyal to. So in relationship to clan mates, I like them to be worthy of my trust. Loyalty and trust have a lot to do with each other. If I see them as a loyal friend that just couldn't handle something I always consider that too.

Thank you Garrett and Dallar.

is the day you have stopped leading them.
They have either lost confidence that you can help them
or concluded that you do not care.
Either case is a failure of leadership.”

Is it wrong if given those two choices I would probably rather have Y?

Loyalty is earned. If you earn someone's respect and trust, they will be loyal.
Someone who is incredibly loyal but doesn't show up to events in the big scheme of thing isn't much use to a Runescape clan. They are great for the community, and if it is the goal of the clan to be a community clan, then sure X is the clear choice. However, if the clan has any sort of ambitions, activity is harder to come by.

You have to mix x and y to be a good clan member.
