Ok, don't beat yourself up too hard over it.
Consider the following things:

1. CR was expected to win in the first place as I said
2. CR is one timezone, WG is three
3. There were 2 major timezone changes, with daylight savings starting in some parts of the world, and ending in others.
4. WG just got its foot in PVP, CR is pro PVP
5. We beat CR in CWA
6. For the low pull we did VERY well
7. For the first ranged fight we've had, we did VERY well
8. We lasted the entire 90 minutes
9. WG proved it can return - leaders are impressed at the return rate
10. CR flamed, we didn't.
11. We got a very supportive Emeritus count. They still look after us even though they are retired
12. The prep we did for this fight led to more recruitment and such

_________________

The loss was painful, especially since it was so 1-sided for 90 minutes. The leaders knew from the first 10 that we'd be bleeding rune the whole fight. And you, the members, knew that too, but you kept going. It was admirable. You gave your rune for a lost cause and dealt with frustrated leaders... that is TRUE comradeship. I am very proud of those who attended, even though we lost.

It was a win for our integrity and honour. Those who came did very well.
However, I have to be practical too and look for future ways to improve.
I suspect a lot of the problem was that this weekend was a timezone changing weekend, and that played a big role. I'll get to work on that, and you can all help me.

2 kills 3 deaths. We took the hits but at least we can hold our heads high and say we managed to last 90 minutes.

Yeah, if you just look at the stats, we didn't do too bad considering..

WG + 5 allowed emeritus = 75 potential people.
CR + FA's + 5 retired = 77 potential people.

WG combat average: 117
CR combat average: 122

Also consider that CR does PVP PKRIs several times every week and are very experienced.

I'm surprised we lasted past the first 15 minutes, much less the whole fight!

Great job everyone!

Good work guys. Everyone's banks might be a little less, but whatever. I lost 8 sets and had fun. smile.gif I was kind of mad at Lordy when he got this fight caus the first thing I said was, "Shit we're gonna get raped." Lol... Anyways. Not much we can do when they end with 126 + options... (42 ish)
Lets just try to work on our pull. From there maybe we can do better.

Go make back those banks!

Good post. We did brilliantly to say we were outnumbered, we kept coming back and i'm glad everyone returned. Keep it up and go on to win the next, yes?

2 Kills 1 Assist 5 Deaths. We proved we can return and that we have will power. We returned for the full 90 minutes event though it was a lost cause. I'm proud of you guys, even though we lost.

On another note: I am however annoyed that most of the time it was only a select handful of people binding. I was one of them, i got sick of others not trying i had to put on pro melee and keep my robes on being sniped to mad, alteast that helped though.

4 kills - 7 deaths rune&bind sets + runes every death.

Gene, if I have learned anything about you, it's that you are always trying to make WG better. And you do that by having us fight clans that are way out of our league. We've ALWAYS done this.

Remember when we fought Valor? We got raped, but we learned from it. We never backed down from any fight. Remember fighting DS and BK and CL? We have always been the clan to fight the tougher opponent. That's just the way it is..

0 kills 9 deaths... Lost 7 rune sets and when I returned in welfare I was instantly piled, even with only ONE minute remaining.. so I didn't get to the ending options in time. CR flames.. a lot. It was frustrating but I'm surprised we lasted so long.

Gene dont beat yourself up we can only improve from things like this, giving us easy fights will just mean we think we're better than we actually are.

Sry i couldn't stay the entire fight i stayed for 45-50 minutes in a cafe using there wireless internet but i had to leave to catch the last train home.

4kills 1 death

This fight proved a couple things to me however

Positive side:
People are willing to return
Emeritus will be there when needed (thanks alot)
We we're MASSIVELY outleved and survived even tho we got tanked by everyone.

Negative side:
Organisation was poor (Maybe we should go back to spamming "wg on" that will aide to better the organisation
Opts were poor (However we knew it wouldn't be great

this war was awesome. btw i'm the new guy.

never in my clanning career have i fought a war in pvp. so for my first time i was scared and lost rune at first. i got the hang of it but i notice two things.

if you're a low lvl. tanking is your best bet.

and get a fast internet connection with a core dual =P

also i notice that cr had members that seemed to run forever..

i'm doing research, apparently its a technique called pooling...where you have infinite run for a pre-determined amount of time.

thanks guys for letting me being part of this war. to me it seemed like we faced it and did as much as could be done. maybe next time we can do alot better =D

I had binds and was binding every other death. I was a little late (stupid alarm clock) but came up and returned.

Pools dont work in F2p anymore

Its cause their binds were on game. Ours werent. They rarely used much energy for piles since their targets couldnt drag.

Oh my god, what a disastor of a fight (from personal perspective). Don't want to go through the trauma of repeating it again so i'll quote rsc:

QUOTE
Not only was I rusty and barely remembered how to hug, a series of things made the experience even better.

- Start of the fight: came late, forgot prayer. Had to tank the first time without prayer, didn't do too well.

- Probably 15 minutes later, I was in the war then the phone rang. I was thinking oh crap. Bloody sod's law, as soon as it rang I got piled. I was there with the phone on one shoulder trying to hold a decent conversation while bricking it hugging rocks, didn't make much sense on the phone I don't think.

- Next time I returned, I was in perfect timing to get piled again. Like a piece of bait, fantastic. First time I managed to eat a fricken invent of food though, dead impressed. Somehow tanked with under 10hp for quite a while

- Few more deaths, getting used to hugging and stuff again. Lasted till near the end. Was under 2 minutes from ending and I got piled. Couldn't keep it, so died with under a minute left to get back out there. Got to red dragon's gate about 15 seconds after the final opts were taken. Gutted.

Not a great re-introduction to planned PK run-ins =s

Sorry if I appeared pissed off, I was. And not just down to that.

That aside, good job everyone! Was very tough, and planned pk run-ins have never been WG's forte, especially 90 minute ones (which is too long in my opinion, especially when you can cheat the ending opts). I'm impressed with the determination people showed in getting back out there and giving it their all. We could've done with a greater positive spirit, but that'll come in time.

This loss is good. It shows us that we still have a lot to improve on (which is evident both from the fight and the near-zero amount of deaths CR appeared to have). Leading was great, assertive and decisive under pressure, but our organisation was disastorous. A lot of the time WG members were wondering around like seagles in a fish market. It was an embarassing sight. How can we solve it?

- Binding! is one of the main factors. We didn't have enough people in robes trying to bind. I tried a lot, but annoyingly barely any of them worked. People ran out of energy and hence lagged the entire battlefield, we need solid binds. But people complained about........

- Snipers. Yes, there were snipers. But it was still easy enough if you're quick with changing gear. Now food appears on the ground, snipers barely have an effect. The more people that have the guts to wear robes and bind (and if you can't do so without getting KOed, you need to be at drills), the less pressure it is on the select few who do hybrid and get singled out. However, another question is raised..........

- Anti-Snipers. Did we have any? If we did and they were doing a good job, we clearly need more. We had a lot of snipers around us. Instead of wondering about lost or trying helplessly to catch up, people need to snipe if they know how + are not in the main pile. We need to make sure snipers are pre-occupied to make it even safer for the hybrids. Their sniping is clearly one of the things which won the war.

I'm only throwing a few points out there. Although organisation was poor (even though it was good in parts, especially the leading and falling in), it was still a very good effort from everyone and the determination and motivation is something to be proud of, good job.

I came home and hurried on to be like 30 minutes into it. I actually enjoyed it. I usually feel like throwing up when I do any war/raid or even to much combat training. But I was fine today.

I lost 1 set of rune and when I returned it was very close to the end like less then 3 minutes to go and they attacked me before I got skulled, so on the second death I ate all my food and got to keep 3 pieces of my rune and I lol in rl when I saw that in lumby.

I need to work on returning faster and knowing the better way to do that. Frankie helped me and thanks.

I was so proud with the fact that we made the whole 90 minutes. The fight may not have gone our way but the fact that we just kept going lifted my spirits.

We will improve in PvP run-ins. That was our first REAL one and things will only go up from here. I personally am pissed off with the way I performed, next time will be redemption.

I am so sad I couldn't make it. Seeing the text messages on my phone made me sad, especially when I knew it was going to be a tough fight.

I am happy though to see that WG made it 90 minutes, people are returning, and that we got something good out of this.
