Alright, as the new Event Leader, I promised some different types of events. I've got some idea, but I want and NEED to know what you guys want too. So, post here the types of events you want to see.

Don't post things like SC, Castle Wars, Fight Pits and stuff like that because they WILL happen. Also don't say more PvP or less "Skilling" because that doesn't help. What I'm looking for is concepts you guys find entertaining.

Is there a favorite computer game you like? Maybe I can incorporate something from there into a RS event. So, think of things that you find fun and tell me about them. Do you like games where you work together as a team? Do you like fighting alone against a horde of monsters? Do you like TBS games or RTS games? FPS?

Things like that are the things I need to know.

Thanks. You can post them here, or PM them to me.

Also, PLEASE TELL PEOPLE ABOUT THIS THREAD!

Note: This is in Suggestions because I need you guys to give me suggestions. neko2.gif

But you like other games right? XBox? PS3? Wii? Other PC games? What about them makes them so fun besides the suspense and action? Any specific game features that make it a really good game?

...

Either you really don't care about what we do in WG, or you're completely missing the point of this thread, which I personally find very hard to believe.

What is it about the games that makes them better? Don't say things I have no control over, like graphics. Instead tell me if it's the strategy that is involved. Tell me if you like games that are "one vs. many" or co-op games. Do you like games where you have to take over a certain area? clear out an opponent? reach a certain point?

Are you into dungeon crawls? Do you like scavenger hunts? Do you like riddles? Books? Detective stories? Board games? What kinds of board games?

ANYTHING THAT YOU ENJOY DOING

Tell me anything you find enjoyable. That way I know what kinds of events to create and to host. It's no good to make an event that involves us standing around if what you like to do is take over areas with a little group of people. The same goes for the reverse.

Telling me "Because they are better than RS" really doesn't help anyone now does it? There is a reason you think they're better. What is it?

I like events that are fairly competitive as opposed to happy fairy time where we all stand around and mine or whatnot. Someone being able to win is usually a plus. Those events should allow anyone in attendance the opportunity to win, regardless of combat level.

I like group quests, I have always found those fun. Maybe consider an event to do the next big quest that comes out, or even one to do like As a first resort to get those without infinite run up to it.

Monster slaying is always fun. GWD is tough because you have to have a few mil to get the gear, and you piss away 100k in pots per trip. Not everyone can afford that. However, everyone can pretty much afford to hit up the KBD or even the KQ if we get a couple in Veracs, so we could try those out.

Hide and Seek things are fun, where clues are given to find people. Lordy has done them at the anniversary before in the form of "The Lordy Code".

There are some underused mini games in RS that might be fun. For example the smithing thing in the Dwarven place, the gardening one, fairy hunt, trouble brewing, etc. I've never really done any of them, and they might be fun.

I think we could have a couple hours where all of WG goes to Barrows, that's an event that is more fun with more people around and isn't too costly. Plus the rewards are pretty good if you are lucky.

Maybe we could set up another duel tournament like Indi did, or we could invade the real duel tournaments and try to win them. I like the Pokemon battles or w/e that has been done before where you can only use summons to fight the other person.

You could also do an event with pretty much any skill. There are a lot of people here who do skills and do want to raise their skill total, and even if you only get 6-7 people to show up, it could still be fun. I know I'd rather skill with other people around.

I like WG vs Opponent. Which in Runescape would be another clan, I don't care what game it is, though wars are the most common example of this, there is also:

Trouble Brewing - We did this against Gladz
Stealing Creation - We beat the silly crap out of SE
Castle Wars - I was on a CW team once and we "warred" other CW teams.

I would personally like to see an increase in the amount of trouble brewing that WG does.
As Joe mentioned we did play Gladz... but no one exceptr me and one other person knew how to play, i did a v. quick tutorial mintes before the game and we got raped...anally...
So yah - practice tb events.

Seems like we like "clan vs. clan" events.

But, what else? There have to be games that you guys like because of a specific aspect of gameplay?

Like for me, I LOVE RTS games (AOE, C&C) because of the whole strategy aspect. Taking of specific areas and being really secretive. Sending out a little platoon of people and then sending in a larger army as the enemy goes for the bait.

Things like that are what I need.

But thanks so far for the RS preferences.

I've had a good idea for some time now, it would take a long time to organise and a big pull would be a necessity, we'll discuss sometime k.

Mobilising Armies
We’ve reported before that we planned to release Mobilising Armies, our new tactical minigame, in December. We’ve found that although we could release it, we really want to take our time to make this the best update we can, so we made the difficult choice to hold onto it until next year. We’ve never ever tried to release a game like this before, and we want to make sure we get it right. So, you’ll have to wait a little longer for your gnomic glider bombers, pigeon messengers, dragons’ hoards and catapult attacks.

That sounds like RTS style gameplay, so maybe when that comes out, we can do events like those?

Tb sucks george =/

As for why i like them Colonel im not sure, if you've played them why do you like them?

I wasn't being sarcastic i just didn't/couldn't think of a reason as to why i like them, i just do.

I'd say clan v clan events are good, and i like Co-Op type games teams of 2/3, OR games were theres a winner etc.

But It's gotta be a winner at the end! Spilting into teams/picking teams/picking captains all good.

Thanks Slayer, that's a lot more helpful. Also, I've never played any of those games as I don't own a console, lol.

And for people mentioning Mobilizing Armies, I have that in mind already, but I think different as well. Hopefully my idea is feasible, and if so, I think would be incredibly fun. I've got some of the basics worked out, but it'd need quite a bit more planning.

Again, thanks for all the suggestions guys.

FunOrb games, or different games that are in another game, but can still be played with the clan, would be a good variance from the norm and could still be extremely fun.

I had an idea the other night but for some reason i don't think it will work.
Basically stealing creation but not in the actual area.
For example,

Someone mines ores, who trade them to a smelter, who trades them to a smither who makes arrow heads

Someone cuts logs, who trades them to a fletcher, who makes a bow(u) and shafts, who trades them to a bowstring and feather runner who makes the bow and trades the arrows to the smither who made the arrow heads

Then that smither trades the bow and arrows to a ranger who kills (monsters). The goal is to kill as many as you can in (time limit)

Would take some planning but it could be cool

Well Randy, another problem with that is the trade limit prevents massive amounts of trading to be done so it would not be able to be done in bulk, unless a few members were willing to spend money to prevent the trade limit from getting in harms way.

It would be fun, but you have to have members who are willing.

I've had sooo many ideas like that actually.

I've had ideas that incorporate something like what you've suggested and combat. I just need to know if people want/would enjoy something like that.

I want to make an event that appeals to as many people as possible, so I can possibly get a better pull, which would make it more enjoyable for everyone.
