Pay full attention and read it all.
It is five times more important than the standard IA.
Make sure this topic stays on top.

WE ARE COMING OUT OF THIS SLUMP WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT.

If we're short of one type on a raid, a strong clan is a versatile clan. This week, I would like event leaders to have some money-making events. God Wars and Potential.

Mega Announcement TWO - Emphasis on P2P - For now + Set Raid Times Again

F2P is WAY too competitive with massive powerhouse clans storming around. The exception is the Aussie raid which remains THE f2p raid. We're now back to weekly raids after the other leaders have caught up with my level of intelligence and realised weekly raids ARE the way to go and we shouldn't have scrapped them.

P2P Raid - 5pm EST Every Saturday Night
Aussie Raid - 8pm Australian EST
GMT - Flexi for now. We'll mess around with it until we find a time with good attendance.

We usually hold a late Sunday night raid as well. This will not be weekly. Some weeks we can't be bothered.

Anyway, P2P is the way to go. In getting together your list of equipment listed above, bias your purchases toward p2p raid gear first. In p2p we own. Kenshln took advantage of WG's p2p success and brought us up to glory that way. (For the newer guys, WG was in a massive slump and Kenshln was the one who started up KF raids and brought us out of it. Second most important figure in WG history below me. I'd give him instant council if he decided to rejoin)

Anyway back on track. WG has a really amazing p2p history. We were #2 p2p in 2006. This clan takes to p2p VERY easily. We were at our strongest when we were biased to p2p. You f2p members need not worry. We will be going back to 50/50 p2p and f2p once our numbers are up.

P2P war with EOS from EOS point of view.

Guys lets get back up to THAT level of epicness.

Mega Announcement THREE - Recruit a Friend Month

We've got a good clan now, and we want to share it with even more people, and in turn get even better. Imagine, if everyone recruitment one member, we'd double n size. It's going to be mandatory unfortunately. This is simply the biggest problem we've faced. But we don't want our new recruits to feel like they were recruited because we nagged. They have to be really appreciated and shown a good time. They are not just numbers, they are our future friends. So recruit someone you want in your company.

Council (and there's no way around this) will keep a list in Level 4. And referrals will be checked off. If you recruit the most, you get the WG T-Shirt.

user posted image

For everyone else that has recruited someone, you get put in a raffle for the mystery prize. My advice - don't recruit off Runescape. Runescape recruits don't stay active. And RSC posting is lame. Competitive, but it DOES work if you are low on options. Referral of friends is the best. If you don't have any friends, take the time to make some. There are a lot of people in small clans that want something bigger and better. They are the sort of people who will be great members of this family.

Mega Announcement FOUR - Taking care of the forum menu

It is still up for debate as to whether tertiaries will be given limited ACP access, but we are really going to support the menu, and re-instate clan time. Message of the week will be weekly, announcements will go in the news. The war record will be updated majorly. And please check for event times whenever you are on. I'd also like to be able to update attendance via that panel (Robbie please can we put the attendance editor in the menu, with the default load set to members only rather than clan friends? Right now every registered member is loaded and it lags me up).

So yes, we're going to make use of that for quick reference. It will be updated heavily. Daily.

Mega Announcement FIVE - Major Facelift

1. Clan website major update including history.
* On a related note I want everyone to become acquainted with the condensed history of WG at least. Its important because most of you don't know exactly what we've been through and how absolutely epic our history is.

2. Recruitment video on its way. It's a flash video, and I might do a real life one too. I have a concept of basically, anyone with a video camera willing to vid themselves post below. It's gonna be about people from all walks of life talking about WG and basically reading a script I've given them (and sounding like its from the heart). And it would be you looking cool, not in your room pimple-faced playing RS. I'll be at Uni with my friends or something, saying "People from all walks of life come together in one of the greatest online communities" and then Glenn will be like on his skateboard saying "I'm the warlord, and I'm bringing a new p2p side to WG". And then BTO will be in his corner cutting his wrists and sitting on his mother's lap, saying "I'm BTO and I'm here to support the clan from a council spot etc..."

So if you have a video camera, offer up your lifestyle (could be surfing, music, sport, whatever. Something active) and we can make a compiled IRL movie. Please volunteer.

3. Recruitment topics will consequently get bumped up.

4. RSC posting will now be a big thing. Everyone please have an account and try to stay away from clan discussion. Everyone in there is in a clan. Posting with a cool WG sig (sigs coming soon) will draw attention to the clan. BTO was recruited that way. We're going to get big on RSC.

5. Also, don't forget the topsite clicks daily. Click on LINKS at the top forum menu and click on each topsite for added publicity.

A lot to absorb.
I do resent my gear not being included in your list though. hash.png
Recruiting a friend could be the hardest as I tapped all my resources in Mmangler.
Silver hates WG, kudos to the people who did that.
Some of the stuff is staff only since I doubt regular members will be messing with forum menus any time soon. tongue.gif

Sounds good. I'll make sure everything is stocked at right levels =)

Recruit one friend a month was my suggestion in ts thing today. Kwl.

Only one friend a month. Surely we can do that if we focus enough. Going to love these p2p raids. I was thinking of quitting rs but not so sure now hmm...

I love everything that you say here, but a few things that I am questioning, especially on the gear.

I personally can afford it, and I actually just went through and bought almost everything that I need. I do know of a few people that may not be able to afford the 7.5m minimum that you are requesting. So because someone doesn't have 7.5m to just spend on gear to stock, they may be kicked? I think that is a bit outrageous. We better be having quite a few GWD trips going on this week to help people make money.

I ask you this question, with no intention to poke fun of or to insult you, do you have 7.5m to spend right now on the minimum gear?

I understand that this will all help us grow, which is why I went through and got everything. I want to try to make this clan succeed, which is why I am still in WG and support all of the things that you have mentioned. I just believe a bar or two that you set the standards at are a bit high for the moment.

Other than that, let's recruit, let's raid, and let's succeed.

EDIT: Also with the gear checks, because the staff is checking, someone needs to make sure that the staff themselves have the gear. Don't let that get overlooked.

EDIT2: The 7.5m figure I brought in, included both of the hybrid gears, which from a statement you said at the end of that section, we should pretty much have both of.

Where'd we say we'd kick you? tongue.gif

You should have most of the gear already (rune, glories). Also, you only have to pick TWO styles minimum. 26ks will make a couple mil per day provided you're high level.

Yea, We'll be trying to encourage money making this week.

Excuse me.. warning levels then? dry.gif

I do have most of the gear, and infact now all of the gear. I have no clue about others though as I do not have access to their banks. Actually, I have had a few staff members say something to me about "sell half of that if you want, it isn't a big deal" when regarding raid/war gear. unsure.gif

This week I will be busy during the day, but even if I wasn't, I wouldn't sit around 26king all day just to make money for WG. Sorry, but that does not give me pleasure in the game that I usually decide to play for pleasure. But then again, a couple mill per day if you are high level. Let's just leave the low levels behind on that one I suppose?

What about emeritus requirements, requirements for new recruits, and emeritus that come back to guardian?

Oh and so you know, I am providing pressure so all loops are worked out. I am trying not to include any personal attacks or anything (I so was about to say something about staff, but I decided to delete the comment smile2.gif

That honestly scares me that you would say that.

I can afford the gear, but having large stocks of items puts a large dent in my merchanting capital, meaning it will affect my long-term ability to make money in order to sustain raiding gear.

Also glad to see weekly raids being brought back.

Ok a few answers.
I don't even want to consider punishing.
I believe that every member can get the equipment and I don't have to consider the negative.

I use myself as a benchmark for acceptable standards.
I'm probably the poorest person in WG (seriously), so if it takes me more than 2 weeks, I will give an extension to everyone else. I won't be playing excessive hours a day so by my own progress I can measure the demands I have placed.

Say we get into the terrible business of FORCING punishment - It's a case by case thing. If a rich member didn't want to because they were saving up for summoning or construction materials, I wouldn't take it... but if they have been on holiday for a week, I will give them an extra week.

I will be checking the council, and the council will be checking me. It's all fair.

A point for emeritus - you are free to do as you will. I encourage you to obviously chip in and help out, but there are NO MORE ACTIVITY requirements for emeritus, not even posting. It's a permanent rank, but you can't go for leadership positions, and the active member list will receive the majority of the leaders' attention, obviously.

I can't say I see the point of *forcing* WG to have 5-7m stocked up in items all the time. Most of the required items are instant buy/sell on GE so you really can go "Raid in 30 min, better go get some of...." and still easily source them.

I really dont like to see Wg once again attempting to rule members banks with an iron fist, this is on the same level as telling us we 'have' to have a PvP tab in our banks.

I would have thought that as long as I can turn up to a raid in acceptable gear that would be fine, spot checks & restrictive guidlines get me confused, is this Wildguard or Stalingrad?

I'm with Lefty and Evil, I don't see the light about spending 7m on raiding supplies. Maybe this will contribute to the complicated climb out of our "slump" or maybe not. Hopefully there will be plenty of money making events, 100% P2P EP gives a good chance of 5m I hear.

I will also be sure to host some spur of the moment GWD trips etc this week if you guys want to go to make some cash to help get gear. Just drop me a PM anytime and I am usually up for Armadyl or something.

I do like the idea of coming out of our "slump", but you have to see that sometimes you can ask for too much. And i'm glad that you all are so hyped up about this, that's a great thing. I agree with probably 80% of the things said in the topic but here is where controversy comes along...

Ok, so first off let's start with gear. Yes, we are heading into our P2P phase, but like a couple people have already said 7.5m is a bit too much. We aren't #2 P2P again Gene... We have to start small and if you have like 3-5 sets i believe you're fine. In a worst-case scenario we have a bad raiding day and somebody dies 3 times. That's means they returned 3 times, now tell me who returns 3 times? Only members who are dedicated and actually like it. They'll make most of the money back, and probably profit from 26k's afterwards, and if they're coming back 3 times you have to trust them that they'll probably restock after the raid.

You can't just force people to put their entire banks into raiding gear, or even 7.5m at that. I'm not speaking for myself, you all know im loaded and already have well over that in gear. But it's thinking about others. Gene, you want 60 members to have 7m in gear, when only 15-20 show up to raids?

Next, recruiting is like OMGF HALP FFS. Like BTO, most people don't have frands outside of WG. And if they do, they are some RL frands who own pures, are in other clans, or just don't clan/war. That's the exact case with me, i've tried recruiting from in-game - epic fail. And RSC just don't work with me ffs. Making it mandatory, you can expect half-ass members joining IMO.

Okay, that is all for now.

EDIT: All in all, you know I'm right by your side no matter what. I wouldn't leave WG for anything.

The price of being in a clan.

This beg's the question of quite how much dedication you expect from a person in WG to commit to WG.

Your screenies above show give or take 4.8m of items are required as a MINIMUM to meet this gear requirement, and as Nick points out above it is around 7.5m for the reccomended gear. 7.5m in my eyes is allot of money, hell, even my full slayer kit is only around 10m worth of gear and thats something I plan never to loose.

So how log does it take to get 7.5m? Off the top of my head I came up with:

Farming Toadflax: 2.8k per herb, approx 7 herbs per plot = 383 Herb plots
Killing Green Dragons: Approx 300-350k/hour = 21.5-25 Hours
Slayer: 24 D boot drops (12 tasks) 4.5 Abyssal whips (god only knows how long)
Runecrafting: 79.8k Nature runes @ 96gp per profit. thats approx 40 hours at <91 RC

Or you might get lucky with a quick drop in GWD, or a decent PvP/BH drop.

My point is, looking at the figures which I can gaurantee above you are looking at ALLOT of skilling/killing to make the required cash for this. Of course you can say "Do 26k's, they earn heaps" but some of us can;t really do that, and its bound to get Nerf'd soon anyway. Supposedly the drops have been reduced today ohmy.gif

Do you really think it is fair to expect us to have basically 20+ hours of skilling tied up in stuff that we dont nessacarily need? who in Wg is going to return 10 times anyway? or even 5 times in full gear? if you're dieing that much you're either not doing something right, or a leader needs to have called off the raid long before then.

I'm telling you now, whatever you say I will not be having 7.5m, or even 5m of raid gear sitting in my bank restricting me at all times, I'm sorry but I still play RS for something other than raids and events so I will not be dedicating such a large amount of money to them when 75% of the week its not needed.

*sigh* sad.gif

It looks fantastic, but no skiller recognition or single-combat PvP. I is sad. I'd still argue that our problem isn't in terms of devotion or dedication but simply that most of us don't enjoy the same old PvP much anymore. I mean, I see people in WoW raiding upwards of 10 hours a week in Ulduar and I'd KILL to get in on that shit. I won't spend 5 minutes in RS PvP though as it stands.

It's not the gear, it's the heart.

But anyway, I'm just an old emeritus fart. biggrin.gif
I'll try to be on RSC more though, help represent and whatnot.

Well i can understand what lordy is trying to get across. If we want a better clan and get more members to join, when they join they will look at the current members and see what they are doing and have got, if the current members are showing quality and haing mass amounts of gear this will encourage new members to be just as commited and bring a real enthusiasm to WG. Im looking forward to the next month or so. Im not good at recruiting atall, no friends or anything in RS ive not long been back playing as Kyle knows, but ill be trying my best to recruit new members like everyone else.

Lets get the ball rolling! wub.gif
