All the official leaders (Randy, DZ, Bto, Glenn) have all been based in America. With Glenn leaving and Randy going to camp, and two official leaders left, its pretty clear that we need another Raid Leader. The majority of raids have been generally more favored towards EST. GMTers generally have to stay up late to attend them. Aussies have generally been given better times. I plan on promoting one raid leader, but if candidates prove themselves, I may promote two. The focus of these promotions will be primarily to increase activity for GMTers, but other timezones are free to apply. Although we may be biased towards GMT for this rank, if you prove yourself, we will promote you regardless of your timezone. Keep in mind that this doesnt mean a GMTer will auto win, or you wont have a chance if you arent GMT. If you perform well, it wont matter. Being a Raid Leader is more difficult then most people think. It isn't just pile-calling, taking fall-ins. Theres a bunch of more responsibilities to handle. The fate of each Raid or War depends on your actions; each decision you make is much more important then it has been. WG's direction itself is placed in your hands. It can be very stressful or fun, depending on how you take it. All WG may apply, though obviously your history in WG and activity will improve your chances. Trials will be monitored in their leading and given tips to improve. This trial period, you will NOT be given access to Level 3 secuirity forums or given the trial leader rank. You will remain as a regular member. There is no end date for the trial period; when the leaders feel like there is a capable candidate, then it will end. The current warring leaders (bto + DZ) can overrule any decision called by a Trial during a Raid. Application Form Try to be brief and to the point if possible. Do not however, compromise the details in the questions. It is better to be straightforward and not TOO lengthy. Make sure you are commited. Being a Raid Leader requires lots of dedication and constant commitment throughout your ENTIRE service. It can be extremely stressful when things do not go right or very pleasant when things went your way resulting in a victory. Being a WG raid leader or warlord for the majority of my WG career, I like to think I know what I'm talking about. This is what I said about the job on January 20, 2008:
I still stick with what I said then, but there is so much more that has to be added now. The clan world and WG is much different than back then. We are clearly emerging as a P2P force so being up to date with tactics and strategies are a must. I'm not even fully up to date yet. People will look up to you at a whole new level with this position. You are seen as a person who should be fully experienced with all PvP matters and always ready to step up and take over. I just want to say to those that want to apply, make sure you are ready for the job. We really need a person who will be active, and will be able to hold the position for a long period of time. Are they going to do some CWA stuff too? Like just in case we have that type of event come up. They should have some experience in leading it. (It is worth a try on this one.) 2.
