Hello.
As many of you know I'm a new member at the moment, still on trial. Currently a lot of aspects of PvP are new to me, I have only ever been in a propper clan war back when the old wild was about, and only ever in a f2p one.

Now today, I went on my first event, a PKing trip. At first I was very happy at how quickly people applied what was said. Everything was done quickly with few mistakes, hills were taken quickly, people switched to multi quickly and effectively. Everything was great. Until the fighting started.

A few problems was that no-one defined a target beforehand, while a lot of people are ancients, a target is of course still needed because piling pwns, and a pre-defined target could have been great.

I have also been watching a few videos online about Wilderness guardians now, and have seen that finding a target is easy enough due to teamspeak, but then spamming the target is the problem, since several times on that pking trip, everybody just locked onto the target, which left me and some other people wanting to know where the target was. And due to the lack of spamming it wasn't known. In the videos only 5-6 people were spamming, and you only have to say "Wg <target>" when your attacking the player and thats it.

Another thing i noticed was the lack of hugging. I know it is hard with ancients, but all that people have to do is simply go behind somewhere where people can't be attacked by mages and thats basically it.

I know it is fairly well known, but no-one actually carries these tasks out, even though they are so simple. So heres a way I think would work:

Every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday we have interclan wars, (or any other day other then Wednesday, best if we have 2 weekend days though). I know its a lot but it would really help us.
To practice capturing the hills etc, we can just stay in the gap between the two walls, and attack from there, it'd have the closest effect as hills really.

Also this is suprisingly simple, but works wonders:
If we start getting people to come half an hour early, and then 15 mins before the event starts we hope to have 75% of people there, by pming or asking in the IRC etc, we can then practice spamming. We can simply go to say upstairs of general store in edgeville and spam things like "I will spam!" or "I will hug!" or "I will pile!" etc things like that, since then the people who don't know how to do these things will read up about it. Plus generally doing this for a fair amount of time is very successful, espically if we do it even when walking around in the wild.
I saw you did do some spamming before, but not really enough to help.

Also, your too reliant on teamspeak, posting more often in-game will really help with good co-ordination, and would be overall better then co-ordinating over teamspeak, just a little less secretive.

Mainly my suggestion is to have a interclan war 3 times a week and make it known about how we can improve, and we will end up improving.

Thanks.
Evan.

Back in the old days teamspeak was used pretty infrequently, spamming towers would be massive, but once TS got into play, things have got a lot better.

How come you don't have teamspeak? Its almost crucial to the game. Fair enough, some people have compatibility issues and stuff, its worth knowing who though.

Possibly one reason spamming in-game stopped was the surprise element. If someone sees their name in game, it alerts them to the fact they're getting piled. With TS only, they have no idea. This is probably more applicable to f2p than p2p. In-game spamming should start after a few seconds though, because they know they're being piled then.

Aside from that, there is no excuse for not spamming. But it'll be more common in f2p because in p2p you've got to be more alert to your health and prayers. Its worth getting in a good spam tower once the target has been attacked for a few seconds, for those without teamspeak.

As for hugging, on p2p it doesn't make that much difference. Nowadays most people are maging or ranging, and hugging does nothing for that (on the low-level obstables, which is the majority in the warzone). On top of that, you can't really hug when frozen. But still, it is worth doing in case of the odd meleer if it doesn't slow your eating.

That's my take anyway, see what everyone else thinks. Respect for speaking up as a new member, anyone should be able to make suggestions. Its always worth renewing these sorts of ideas, they all help towards the bigger picture.

You need just more practise and you will be in the main pile even without in game spam... lol just a joke

True, we were quite disorganized today sad.gif Yes maybe some more practise would help us, we havent had a practise for ages.
Inter-clan war wouldnt be a good idea, because not enaugh poeple will attend to create 2 teams. We should just go to CWA and fight some randomers.

Yea, I can agree that WG has had trouble spamming recently.

Its difficult to try to get spam going ingame especially in P2P, where its much more difficult to spot piles than in F2P.

We do spam, especially in F2P fights, but I will agree that our spamming does need work. Even if you're ranging, it still helps to spam; as long as you're spamming and people look at you, then see who you're shooting, they'll see the pile.

As for practices, I tend to give 1-2 days between pvp events for people just to chill. We do occasionally hold practices. However, I'm not willing to commit 3 days a week for practice.

Tanking wise for the fight wasnt that great, since they had a lack of mages it should have been easy to drag.

As for pre-event spams, we usually only do it for the major events.

as for the thing every wednesday saturdays nd sundays....

where is the time to raid nd war then
waste of time then, not many ppl would come nd just skip

In-game spamming is usually pretty good in F2P. In P2P it is hard to see the target and it is also hard to find them.

If you are referencing off of the raid that we had this morning (for USA times), then I will tell you that it wasn't the best pile calling. I was even a bit disappointed.

Practicing helps, but nothing is like the real situation. We just need to start doing the best we can when it counts, instead of practicing things perfectly and then letting all of that go to waste.

You can't afford to be typing during a p2p fight as your heal can literally be 0 in 2 seconds.
You need teamspeak.
