First off, I’d just like to say thanks, during my Trial period with WG I’ve had nothing but support from the WG members, I’ve attended several raids and other events and overall it was a fun time. I took a week’s holiday in the middle of the trial which I don’t think helped things get off to a good start, and definately not in terms of 'bonding' if thats even possible in a week but whatever.

The reason I am writing this post is because I feel pretty guilty, over the last few days members have been asking me to post my graduation topic and to be honest I’ve been holding back, when I realise the reason why I also realise it’s not really fair on you guys.

As a good deal of you know I’m in Ancient Fury the Pking team, although it’s a team I joined them over 3 months ago – I thought I’d join a clan after the one I’d lead for 2 years was closed by myself so I can have some events to attend between Pking in AF as they don’t do events everyday, this I guess was pretty selfish since usually with teams a clan should come first not vice-versa. I left an AF event for a WG war the other weekend and had no problem doing so in the end, but I was far more reluctant to do so than I should have been, here I started questioning my commitment to WG in comparison with the other great members of the clan. I’d also like to confess I attended a PK trip with The British Crusaders which on their part was off the record but again it’s not good for my standing here.

I imagine a lot of you reading this will be thinking ‘why on earth would you turn down a place in WG for some PKing team’, well I guess I can’t really answer with much more than the fact that 3 months there has made it pretty much impossible to consider leaving them. When my clan closed a lot of my friends on runescape were set to go in different directions but I managed to recruit most of them to AF again making the team more appealing to me.

However these complications are not the only reason I wish to terminate my trial with WG, I joined expecting a strong community and a solid clan, which of course in that sense I was not disappointed by, the clan clearly is something for the members to be very proud of. However with such a legacy behind the clan at times during my trial I felt slightly unsure of how long it would take to become ‘one of the gang’ of course I’ve met some great people in my trial but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to match the quality of the members in WG and completely fit in, loyalty is something I don’t take lightly and honestly I don’t feel I am dedicated enough to go the course in WG, due to my interests in other areas as mentioned. Sure I’ve been to events and chatted to various members now and again but sadly I’ve been held back by the growing feeling that I see WG as my sideline in clanning to AF and that is not the way it should be, nor the way the other members of WG who are in AF see it – it’s unfair on you guys, especially seeing the effort you put into running WG.

I’d like to leave a note to Lee who as my mentor will probably be pretty annoyed about this post – as to anyone but me it would probably appear my trial was going fine, I wouldn’t want you to feel it was your fault or anything as you as much as you could to make me feel welcome and help me towards joining – in fact without your pm on RSC I would never of gave WG a try. I wanted to avoid posting anything ironic but ‘its not you its me’ fits the bill perfectly when looking for an explanation for making this post.

I’d really appreciate it if people don’t Pm me asking why I chose not to graduate I really can’t offer much more from what I feel, that said I obviously wouldn’t be expecting a huge reaction so don’t take it i'm selfish enough to expect that would be getting one.

Regretfully Shaun/Chall x

Well Shaun,
What can I say... I guess thank you for being so honest in your post.
This is the best way to go about this, rather than just falling more and more inactive in WG, so thank you.
It's a real shame as you seemed to be fitting in so well.
Take care mate and keep in touch smile.gif
