Been anticipating way before the E3 '09 popularity explosion. Loved it from the day they released the first trailer and the limited info on IGN a year ago.

Couple corrections though on your post:
-The official word count is just "tens of thousands," I don't think 30k was ever a confirmed or officially mentioned number
-As far as I know, Gamestop/EB Games are out of the preorder hats as of last week. Only those who preordered before they took the offer off the website would get the hats.

But yeah, I'm looking forward to it. It's definitely one of the most innovative games released- it's 2009's version of Littlebigplanet and Portal in terms of innovation. Only problem I see is that since the huge buzz it got all over the internet after E3, is that it's being way too overhyped and expectations are way too high for lots of people, setting them up for disappointment.

I've really tried keeping my hype level lower than normal for Scribblenauts, and have just been focusing on other anticipated games of mine lately.
