Hey guys, there is a newish site out there called Lockerz, www.lockerz.com which at this point is referral only and I just wanted to see if anyone here was a member, or if they would like to be.

Currently the premise of it is that you can answer one question a day for 2 points and refer people for 2 points each. (After 20 referrals these go up to 4). Users can then cash in their points for prizes such as Ipods, 360s, PS3s, TVs, Mopeds, etc.

As a business model they are banking on first of all people telling a few friends about it then giving up, meaning that 95% of all people who register will never even get close to claiming a prize, and they get a ton of free advertising despite having to pay out to the minority for their efforts.

It HAS been confirmed as legit, a former RSC CL has gotten a Flash Drive from them which is a minor prize, but a prize nonetheless.

The site officially launches later this month, and it will have many more features at that point. I believe you will be able to play games on it and get points through that, or you will be able to purchase games, music, etc and get points that way. For now though the main method of points are refs and daily questions.

If you want a ref drop me a pm here with your email address. The email has to be something other than MSN/Live/Hotmail in general. For some reason they do not work well at all. Gmail is particularly good and takes 30 seconds to make.

Anyways it would really help if you guys would register, it's risk free, and at least it would help me out. You could also jump in and get some cool stuff too.

Oh I know this shit isn't free, i've put a ton of hours into recruiting for it and time is never free.
However, it is legit in that they do give you the prizes and you never have to give credit card info or payment of any sort.

Use your logic.

They want you to view the ads on the site which they get PAID to have on there, it would be a safe assumption that as Tmal said, most people never get far enough in to claim anything so they get a large amount of hits on a website that for most people gives them nothing (and hence is probably very cheap to run).

Hits = More advertising revenue.

I would guess that they get significantly more more money from advertising per 'refferal' than it would cost them to give someone '2 points' (I assume you need an astranomical amount to get anything thats worth much? their site is down atm so I couldnt check).

Ah but page views don't amount to currency... fair enough we get our prizes with our tokens, and the host gives us tokens because they get paid by the advertisers... and advertising nowadays costs a fuckload more than most syndicates get back through customers and purchases.

SOMEWHERE imaginary money is being conjured up for this... and that means debt, which always seems to bite the lowest in the food chain right on the derriere.

The client (us) gets a small amount by working for the host.
The host gets paid a fuckload by the advertisers.
The client (us) buys the product being advertised.
The advertisers make a fuckload by selling their product, that's what the advertising is for.

Simple business.

Right now they are entirely losing money, there are no ads on the site.
When they launch the full site later this month, they will already have hundreds of thousands of followers who will look on the site, view the ads which will be added, and start to buy stuff.

Right now they are paying in the form of prizes for a loyal fanbase.
