      IRC Nickname: bto Group: Emeritus Posts: 3815 Member No.: 196 Joined: February 3, 2008 Total Events Attended: 332    | Its been nearly 2 and a half years being in WG. I wish I could continue going, but I know this is the best decision I can ever make for WG right now. There are a couple of reasons for this. First off, you can see that I've been becoming really inactive. I'm taking several AP classes, becoming much more active socially, and I've begun to volunteer alot. When I have spare time and come home, I can barely log onto RS. Secondly, I have no passion anymore for WG. For several months now, the fire has been gone. Even when we took our steps in P2P and dominated, the fire wasnt truly there; it felt forced. I didn't do raids for entertainment; I did it because it was an obligation, a neccessity. A chore. I felt really strongly about fixing what I ruined, and it drove me for several months. Although I know some of you will blame WoW, its not the reason. I can't bear it anymore. I have been so unhappy so long from the pressure. Its time I start looking out for myself. I was told to take a break to avoid burnout, but I couldn't. Eventually, I had to take it. As many have noticed, I've been zoning in and out of activity. I've been struggling to stay strong and do my best for WG, but I simply can't anymore. I have been a staff member for about two years. Theres alot of things I'm not proud of. I wasn't exactly the ideal staff member; I didnt do too much work and was inactive. The only thing I really did was deal with drama and ingame leading. As a result, alot of hardships followed because of my actions. However, I felt that I have redeemed myself to a point. I wish I could do alot more, but I can't anymore. You guys deserved alot more from me. I've turned into a staff member I swore that I would never turn into. My proudest moment was not any particular fight, or any particular thing I did. The thing I am proud of most is this clan's resilience and care towards each other. I am proud of how much this clan has grown together. Thats what makes us strong; thats what makes us WG. Theres a couple of things I would like to leave you guys with before my time is officially up. Bashing the Staff I know alot of you are annoyed with some of the activity of the staff. When MOTM is up, we get complaints. When something is wrong with the forums, there are complaints. When theres no raid, there are complaints. Now you're completely right. Its our JOB to serve right once we step in the position? We shouldnt be staff if we cant handle it, right? Staff members are volunteers. We put our time out for YOU. Not for us. The staff that don't understand this are weeded out quickly. Its not for glory, it sucks. Most of you have no idea the pressure that follows. You might think "Oh, just make an event per week, lead people, do forum work." Try doing that for a couple of months, let alone a year or two. Complaining is your right. However, keep in consideration that we are people too. Staff vs Members Alot of situations pop up where staff feel that they need to deliver harsh punishments. You guys have to remember that although we are authority and they are not, they are people and so are we. We are a community. Just because you have power, don't think that you have to give people out warning levels or ban ex-members for saying crap. Consider the person and their intentions. There has been alot of people who had been punished who didnt deserve it. Ex-members like Rene have lost their status. Is Rene a bad person? Expectations I've seen over the past couple of years alot of misunderstanding about WG's path. Above all else, we value our community. We are a community. Not a super power, or skilling clan, but rather a community. I think alot of people, both staff and members, have forgotten this above all else. They have great expectations from members and staff, and become angry when things are slow to progress. Staff, dont become disheartened. Do your best and try, but you have to realize that we're a community, not a fighting machine. Alot of raid leader applicants I dont consider, because they have unrealistic dreams of "becoming #1 P2P". Again, community. We are not a fighting machine. Sure its good, but its not our primary intent. Everyone needs to realize this. I wish I could give good shoutouts, but there are simply too many people who have changed me. I have met so many wise, fun, and loving people here. Hopefully I will have time to finish later, but I feel like my departure needs to be immediate. I can't even begin to describe the love, compassion, and all the wonderful people here. Hopefully you guys can understand. PM me if I forgot you and I'll try to leave a comment. In no particular order: Afatcrafter - A really nice guy, you're the most epic skiller I've ever seen  . You were a great staff member, and a great contribution to the clan. You have a very fun personality, and its been great knowing you.Vephyrus - I have alot of expectations for you. I know you are a very innovative and helpful person, and I hope you will continue to be the great staff member you are. You're a much better event leader then what we could have hoped for, and I know that you keep helping members and WG through your events. Stokenut - I know we have had alot of problems, but I still respect you for who you are. I was never out to get you; I took action when I though you were hurting WG. Good luck with your goals in real life. Imtheganster + Dieyou2000 - Great people that I can always depend on during the fight. Very experienced and skilled pkers. Thanks for all the support you've given, its definitely noticed. You two have alot of potential. Quikdrawjoe - A great guy with unrelenting loyalty towards WG. Although you can be a moron with spending your "warn level points" sometimes, you're a great person. I know that I and future Raid Leaders will always be able to depend on you. You're an irreplacable part of the community and WG is in debt to you. You're an honest and direct person, and good luck to you, NH person. DZ - Another great contribution to the community. You have a great and fun personality. I've seen what you can do in the past, and hopefully you can bring it up again. Keep trying. David - Thanks for all the support you've given me throughout my period as council. Whenever I doubted myself and lacked the ability to move on, your words gave me strength. Your words have helped me more then I think you know. Thank you. Randy - One of the best staff members I've seen in my time in WG. Seriously, I've seen you do many amazing things for WG. You've always been great to talk to, and I've always been able to depend on you. I know that you will lead WG in the right direction, and I hope that you dont allow certain "restrictions" to hinder us. Darf - I'll still be there when you're sleeping. Erti, Sgtswordfish, and Dylan - I love you guys. Seriously, you guys are such fun loving people, and this community benefits so much from it. You guys have always been dedicated and positive. This community would be alot dimmer without you guys.. Keep it up. Frozen 10 - Another person I can really depend on. When we struggled, even if we suffered, you were always there to lend support to WG. You've been a very active and positive person, always looking on the bright side whenever things looked bad. Thank you. Saad - One of the greatest people I've come to know in WG. We've done so much stuff together, its hard to describe. I think you know how I feel, so I wont really say much. Its really indescribable, but thanks for everything bro. Rachel - The "Mother" of WG. You've always been so loving, caring, and friendly towards others. I hope that your attitude will continue to perservere, regardless of the stuff that happens in WG. George - Another awesome staff member. One of the best definitely. You've been so dedicated and solid throughout your service, I really wonder how you managed it all  . You also like the pns, but thats alright.  Chimpy - Fgt. You've always tried to help WG in whatever way you can. You're a great guy to be around and I'm proud of how far you've made it into WG. Smdsaad. Moose - I love your personality, its so awesome  . I'm sure many people are glad that you finally have Raid Leader, and I hope you carry us far. JC - Thanks alot for all the support you've given me. I feel like you've kinda been my personal advisor, helping me on my way through. Ludo - Always dedicated and interested in pushing WG further. You've gone a long way, and I'm proud of your progress. I have alot of hope for you, and I know you have alot of potential. Keep trying, and you'll get where you want. Lordy - I've never felt so crumpled by pressure in my life for so long. Now I know how you feel.  You're a good guy and a great leader when it comes to community. Good Luck in whatever you do, and thanks for the memories.Andrew - You're a really great person, and I hope you know that. You've always been at WG's side for as long as I remember. Although you get crap alot, WG would be very different without you. Thanks man. Edanias - A very nice and caring person. You're always kind to everyone whenever. Don't let things get to you, it would be a shame to see you leave. Chip54321 - Its been awesome knowing you. You are always calm and helpful. I don't think I've ever seen anyone willing to go so out of their way to help others. BPN - A really fun and strange guy. You're one of the few people that makes me feel very creeped out and hysterical at the same time. Keep it cool .I would like to take emeritus. There have been so many nice and caring people I've met in WG that I owe so much thanks to. Many of them have been long gone, but I will continue to carry what I've learned throughout my life. Its been a long journey. I did not want to go like this; inactive, uninvolved, unhelpful. I regret many things and wish I could have done more, but it is time. Thanks everyone for everything. I won't forget you guys. Even though you were inactive near the end of your council term, I'm sure that people who have been around enough and know what leading/council is like won't look down on you for being inactive. Hell, tons of ex-council went inactive before retiring. It's a shame to see you go, I only wished that I could have been here when you were still active as council so I could see what you actually did, but I have no doubt that you were a great council member and will always be a great person. Good luck in real life man, I hope you pass all your classes and get going with your life and bring the same commitment that you showed to WG to everything you do in real life.
