The hour is 9:00pm, and the writing is reminiscent of harp playing. The prelude is a fitting opening to the set as it signals the beginning of a fairy tale. Click Here To Listen ______________________________________________________________________ II - The Night Watchman Duration: 2'29"  The hour is midnight. The piece opens with a deep groan from the town bell, which will toll twelve times in the piece. In between the bell tolls, an agitated and frantic idea can be heard, representing the patrol of the night watchman who guards the streets while the townsmen sleep. Click Here To Listen ______________________________________________________________________ III - Dusk Descending Duration: 3'00"  This piece is based on the setting of the sun behind a forest outside the town at 6:00pm. The piece begins with a gentle trickle of sunlight, and then plunges into darkness, as the colours and textures begin to blur. Click Here To Listen ______________________________________________________________________ IV - The Closure of the Cosmic Rift Duration: 1'38"  At 3:00 in the night, astrologists and philosophers are gazing up at the stars, predicting the future, and trying to comprehend the nature of the universe. On this particular night, there are disturbing signs in the skies, and there is unrest amoungst the stargazers. | IRC Nickname: Stokenut Group: Guest Posts: 2062 Member No.: 805 Joined: June 10, 2008 Total Events Attended: 112 | #1 The first one is great, without reading the description I had the impression is was sort of a medieval time but the mood was still relaxed and represented the description perfectly. There were however a few slow seconds in the middle that weren't as entertaining as the rest. #2 This is nothing short of genius. I love the idea of the clock striking twelve times throughout the piece and some of the sounds played I wouldn't even be able to replicate using Sibelius. It's defiantly scary. Suitable for the opening of a Halloween concert? #3 This reminded me of #1 in many ways but was distinctly heavier, even more so closer to the end. This could also be used as an opening for a concert or play that depicts the story of something going from good to bad. #4 This is fantastic. It reminds me of Chopin's Revolutionary Etude for some reason, or even a more relaxed version of Liszt's Molto Vivace. The first few seconds seem almost Jazzy, but when the piece gets going it just emits this "epic" vibe. My favourite is between #1 and #4. A tough choice. I have a feeling many people will vote for #1. -------------------- Over 6 years of history and friendship, deleted over a difference in an opinion. --- Challenge any creationist to a debate. They'll run away and aggressively accuse you of "attacking" them and their "beliefs". I'm sorry, please, keep teaching our kids that they'll burn in hell if they don't believe. Mutilate their genitals against their will while you're at it. Keep influencing politics and holding back vital scientific research. They were pretty spot on, except I really liked 1 and 3. 2 and 4 were over the place for me, with 2 being my least favorite, but 4 was still really cool in its own way. It sort of reminded me of watching some sort of villain vs good guy TV show with it having crazy parts with the high points and low points. It would be really crazy and then evolve to a really mellow part to rest and then you'd pick up with the craziness again, it made me lol a little, especially the ending. I would've preferred a fade out, but the ending was just funny to me. 3 was definitely my favorite of the 4, it resembled 1 in so many ways, but as Stoke said, it was darker, more mysterious and went from nice and calming to very evil at points. Really beautiful. --------------------  Thanks Sam for an awesome job and an awesome wait!

I have a natural tendency to filter things out though. 2- Is kind of edgey but seems too heavy like too loud/hit too hard. To me it doesn't seem to fit the theme you posted. 3 - Much more my thing. I like the way the song flows and changes more than I did 1. 4 - My favorite, very tense and driven.  IRC Nickname: megajayson Group: Elite Guardian Posts: 9246 Member No.: 423 Joined: April 4, 2008 Total Events Attended: 216 | 1 - great type of classical piano songs, the second half isnt as good though. 2 - very dark, not really good imo 3 - sound very final fantasy like, but another good piano piece, more modern than number 1. should fill the middle with more deep bass notes like you do later on. 4 - intro might be too high imo, maybe lower it a semi tone or a tone. otherwise it is ok, but not your best. prob say 1 is the best, followed by 3, 4, 2. --------------------  This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill Fifteen percent concentrated power of will Five percent pleasure, fifty percent pain And a hundred percent reason to remember the name! 7th Highest Overall for Wars Attended. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
