I'm tired of people deliberately skipping raids.
I'm tired of people complaining about their sets.
I'm tired of people leaving raids after one death.

This is not a topic for excuses.

WG is growing in numbers but not in dedication.
We will never advance as a clan if every persists on being so lazy.

We are the Wilderness Guardians. We have skilling and community events however PvP is a huge part of our clan. When we raid, you are expected top be there and stay the entire time unless you have a legitimate reason. If you log on when WG is at a raid, you still must come.

When you die, you return.
If I see another person complain about sets it will not end well.
We have a gear req for a reason.

Also, don't ask the leaders stupid fucking questions during massing. Open up the topic and read for yourself. There's no need to baby you.

k.

Is being tired/sleepy legitimate? I was there for hour+ but felt so miserable I left. How did it go by the way?

I trotted around for about an hour and a half yeah I died then I wanted to go eat my dinner.
My sister had a sick headache and was throwing up and I had to take care of her.
I came and stayed as long as I wanted to. Sorry if it didn't suit you.
Money is not an object, however, raiding is not mandatory last I looked.

I skipped yes.. I forgot to post a valid reason for not coming and I'm sorry for that mistake. But this weekend I have lots of schoolwork that needs attendance and I'm not putting it aside to go raiding. It's not what I normally do because it's in my interest to be there for everybody in this clan. but I'm sure we all can agree that school is most important.

I told RandyI didn't want attendance for showing up 1 hour and a half late. That's like getting paid for something you haven't done proberly. But since I couldn't get in touch with Sie Sabre I gave up on coming.

I apologise big time not being there. I hope you had a great trip though

Real life does take place over Runescape Jen and Randy understands this.
If i'm not mistaken he's talking about the people who deliberately skipped the raid (ie: didn't come at all, pretended to be offline etc), and the people who died once and couldn't be bothered to return.

STOP TRYING TO CONTROL MY LIFE@@@@@@@@@

But ye, you noobs gotta come to raids and stick them through. Since this past one was allied you may have fealt that it wasn't as important to show up, but it is perhaps more important than WG only raids. I had to go part way through to watch football game with family, got back on at half time and there was only like 10 people (if that) on, and it just sounded like you were BH hugging so I didn't bother.

I got a good new idea that will semi-pertain to this stoof, look for it soon hash.png.

I have the greatest respect for people who express their opinions. Preferably, in a reasonable manner with a minimum of profanity, which after a while loses its effectiveness. My opinion of raids is that there are those who want to raid and those who do not. Those who like raiding are very good at it; those that do not are more likely than not not good at it. Then there are those like me who would like to learn to raid--yeh, yeh, I have a high combat level but I really did not do combat until joining WG. I am gradually learning how to raid and each raid I learn something more. However, at times I find raiding extremely frustrating like the last raid.

IRL combat teams have a mission goal and the team(s) work out a changing strategy to accomplish that goal. On the last raid we went into the deep wilderness in an attempt to find and neutralize PKers. OK that is typical, then we were ACing until we were crashed and everyone went south. I went south because others did but I really had no idea what we were really doing or why. What was our mission? On other raids we just walk around sometimes attacking PKers and sometimes just hopping. I am sure that my limited combat experience contributes to my frustration but I suspect that I may not be the only one. Maybe a set mission and time parameters would cure the problem for some of us. I am sure it would clarify the situation for me.

k this is plain and simple... you want to make people go to raids make it mandatory, or if you miss 3 raids in a month you get a week suspension, look its time to quit dickin around about this subject, if you want people to attend get a leader to make the raids mandatory.. if you sign up and say you can't go ... no problems... but it can only happen 2 times a month .... you want to see real results... well your the people in charge take care of it. -.-

Lots of people sign up as yes but there can always happen unexpected things.
especially for the younger ones among us. Theyre parents may do something unexpected etc.

Yeah, this happens to me sometimes. I'm 17 so I still gotta do what my mom says for the most part angryhahs.gif.png

For one of the first events I was at, I randomly had to log out for a doctor's appointment my mom forgot to mention.

i see where your both coming from... and if it were up to me it wouldn't matter, i still support my idea in that you can't miss 3 in a month... you are simply talking about 1 time... im sayin it can't happen 3 times.

well it could happen, it's a good idea but it's kind of risky for punishing people that really cant make it. also there's the diffrence in timezones. aussies, europe, amerika etc. It's hard to think of a good system sad.gif
I would have no idea

The problem is that the clan isn't reciprocating the action that is being put out by those who are actually trying.

Nobody is asking you to NOT do something important for a WG event, but what the leadership is asking of you is to TRY to make time. If you've got some chores to do, try and do them BEFORE the time of the event so you can attend. If you've got some work to do, but it won't take long, start it before the event and do as much as you can, then go to the event and finish it off.

This isn't to say if you've got finals to not study, because that's just stupid, but if your only assignment is to do a single worksheet, I think you can make time.

Also, don't think they're asking you to put WG before your real life. They can't, and if they do you should leave because your real life is more important. So, if you really want to go to a party that is the same time as a war, you go to that damn party. But just try and work WG into your life when it comes to these things. If there is an event going on, make a serious attempt to go to it.

People feel as though that the "optional" rule is a shield, when in fact it isn't, it's simply an option. If you can only play 2 hours during the week (Monday-Friday) then you do what you want, but try to use your weekend time on RS for WG. The "optional" rule isn't a "get out of going to any WG events but still remain a full active member" card. It's a "if you haven't really done much for yourself and an event is going on at the moment you have every right to have some time to yourself" card.

It's really easy to just use any RL excuse to get out of an event. "Oh, I had to take my dog for a walk," which you could have done a bit earlier? "Oh, I had some friends over to work on a project," which could have possibly been scheduled so it didn't conflict with a war, maybe?

Nobody is going to argue with you if you've got serious things like, finals, work or even just socializing with friends, it's when you don't go to anything unless it's mandatory to keep your "active" status.

People suggest the leadership make event mandatory to get good turnouts. All that will do is eventually get people to schedule RL conflicts which gives them an excuse to skip, at which point mandatory events become meaningless. What would happen is an event might be a bit boring, so people will try to avoid it next time. So it's next "mandatory" hosting gets a smaller pull, which results in less excitement, and then the next time it's even more pathetic. What we as a clan need is for people to take some initiative and just go to events. Sure, it might be boring towards the beginning. But push though and other people will join. Yeah, it's been said before but it's never had any following because nobody tried.

The bottom line is the members need to just be a part of the clan. Active on the forums, IRC and in the damn game. The more people we have at an event the more fun it is, but the fun will never be realized because the same people go every fucking time, and it's at that point where the event becomes really boring.

One of my most memorable events was when I first join WG. I was in 8th grade, in Rhode Island and the World Series was on (the year the Red Sox finally broke the curse). WG had a war/raid going on. During the commercials of the world series my dad kept calling me to go next door and look through our neighbor's telescope to see the lunar eclipse. Each time I logged out, ran over, looked at the moon, and ran my ass back to my computer and logged back in and continued.

What I'm saying is, just put some fucking effort into the clan and you'll be happy with what you get back.
