Our officials spend quite a lot of time doing bitch-work.
In other words, updating attendance, signups, updating the banners, processing the apps, awards, promotions.

I suggest creating bitches that would do some of the administrative work, without having any clan-power. Perhaps a priviledge or two, whatever, but their first function would be to relieve the officials from work that doesn't require to have the legitimity of a rank.

Officials could then spend more time on making decisions, organizing fights & events, talking with members to solve problems.

The clan could run a bigger administrative machine: the mentor system could easily be fired back up again to allow efficient integration of new members, for example.
These bitches could hand in activity stats reports to the officials, who take a decision on sweeps/promotions, whatever decision they have to make, and the bitches do the updating.
Many uses could be found... helping with updating IRC access shit, checking banks for PK gear - anything that takes time without need for any decision, they'd gather the data and submit it to the rank'ers.

But it shouldn't be an excuse for officials to do less shit: it should be a mean for them to do more, to take initiatives, to think and act etc... whatever officials do aside from bitch-work.

This wouldn't be far from the old moderator status, but instead of simply running forums they'd actually be an accelerator to clan management in all aspects - but with the counterpart that the current officials take advantage from it and take more initiatives (I'm not saying they're not at the moment, but that there's alwyas room for improvement).

The bitches would be basically be an extra arm for running the clan, but without any power.

Lol Zach, who the hell is going to apply for that?
You've made it sound like the most horrible rank ever created.

Although I like the idea of Moderator rank being brought back. They had power in the IRC & Forums, so there are a few rewards there.

Bitches?

No, seriously, for this to work you need no-lifers who just want WG to get better. Dedicated people.
Cos regular officials are ready to do bitch-work: but we all agree that shouldn't be their first function?

And as a fact, if you do good bitch work, you get a chance to distinguish yourself since you're in close contact with leaders.

Thus promotions. Power hungry people can still get their incentive.

Bitches do shit. How great? hash.png

I doubt this would go through, as some people don't like sharing power. And it would require power to get some things done.

I could see this working as long as the leadership don't let their bitches do all the work, and the leadership don't start getting lazy.

As long as they use their time efficiently, this could definitely give the leadership more time to get together and make better choices much quicker then they could before, without sacrificing other clan duties.

I doubt this would go through, as some people don't like sharing power. And it would require power to get some things done.

Updating signup topics and the ML, changing forum ranks, sending out mass PMs is hardly is any power when the decision is still made above.
And for officials, it's barely sharing power, it's more like getting more space to exercise your power.

Unless you consider bitch work is power... officials at the moment have the double function of "Leader" and "bitch". Doesn't sound very coherent.

The trick to prevent the leaders from being lazy is that with bitches, there is no excuse for inactivity in terms of initiative, reaction to clan problems etc.

The responsability of leaders stays the same, and if all the bitch work is done by the bitches, it'll be very visible that a leader is lazy.
It puts officials in a competition configuration: the activity rate of a leader isn't determined by the bitch work anymore, but by the new shit he tries to inject in the clan: he can be judged only by innovation and dedication, not just forum actions or post count.

And time spent for the "normal running" of the clan can't be an excuse for absence of new ideas.

--------

Of course this idea is very raw & superficial - the distribution of things that stay the duty of the official, like I don't know, Raid Recaps, has to be thought of more in depth.

Mayby if the ranks evened it out instead of 1 or 2 doing all the work then things would be easier

This wouldn't affect the quality of management, only its speed and distribution, allowing for more of it...

And it's typically top-down: what we have at the moment is leaders that are at the same time the top and the down.

Love the idea, and I absolutely support it. Bitch-work is usually pretty easy, and the individual tasks don't take much work. However when added up, bitch duty can take a toll on people. So its not necessary for this toll to be put on council, when they should spend their time doing more important things.

I've always thought that bringing back moderators would be a good idea. I agree with the general view that for the most part, WG has clean forums that need minimal moderation at most, but the position could easily be diversified to allow for small modifications such as ML changes.

I also think greater guidance for mentors is essential. I doubt many, if any mentors actually know what to do, if they even do anything lol neko2.gif

Lmao I'd be app manager tbh.

But really, it would be nice if the current ranks actually did their job, thus eliminating the need for MORE ranks to do it for them. Because tbh, everything should be covered.

Well app managers actually took decisions... or did they? I forget.
Bitches should be only a helper to officials (and the clan of course).

This should just be tried to see what is actually needed to be a good rank'er these days, aside from bitch work.

+ You get more people helping run the clan which I guess helps dedication...?

Several years overdue? There's got to be odd jobs the council does that can be handed off to people interested in helping the clan run more smoothly.

having people do paperwork isn't fun.

maybe instead of having bitches....have assistants

it works the same way except they are learning to become a future council, much more rewarding than being someone's bitch.
