I'm skeptical to whether this will really happen, but I'd be prepared anyways, the guy has done it before but on a different game.

k so basically at new years (7est or 12est dunno if the kid is gmt or est) this guy is suppose to mass log into everyones account and drop their banks. now i know a lot of ppl dont belive its going to happen, and not saying you need to do this, but the officals found a way to counter it.

2ways:
First: Protecting your cash pile - you go to ge and put all your money into an item that wont sell. you make an offer for lowest so that your money is in ge instead of your bank. if he actually gets onto your account the bot wont be able to get all the way to ge, cancle the order, then take the cash out and drop it. so we're pretty sure this should be safe so its 1 thing you can do to be safe.

Second: Have nothing on in your invent but a knife. you walk your account up to mage bank at around the times posted, cut the web, and set your character in between the 2 webs. you then drop the knife and wait for it to disappear b4 you log off. this way if they log into your account they will be stuck in between the 2 webs and have no way to get out. even if it was an actual person to hack you theres no way to exit and they cant hometele because its in the wild.

If you haven't heard already the legendary hacker MarshviperX(hacked the old nites account, found the first bloodrune dupe, was responsible for the 2002 starcraft surge and the warhammer highscore hack) has recently claimed that he is about to perform the biggest account hacking in MMORPG history on thousands of runescape accounts. He reckons he has found a vulnerability in the java login script and can gain access to anyones account he wants and that he has made a bot so that he can hack a shitload at once making the rs char drop all items in their bank to get into the guinness world record for online game hacking. He is planning to do all this at 12 on new years eve.

Anyway he has compiled a massive list of the names he is going to enter into his bot to be hacked and has released it probably to scare the shit out of everyone: link below

My name is on the list and if yours is too you should be pooping your pants although everyone has been saying that all we have to do is have a bank pin then his bot can't do shit because he has only found a vulnerability in the login script, theres no way he has found a way to get everyones pin number too. If you go to the contact us section of rs forums you will probably see a load of posts about it although jagex has been deleting them to try and calm people.

Looks likes its only login names that are on the lists, have a search

Was funny seeing people all up in arms about it, paranoid and all.

I told my RL friend about it and he went to go set recoveries just in case some guy found a way to hack 1M+ accounts all at the same time.

To be able to do that you'd need a huge ass supercomputer...not just some decked out PC, but like several computers ONLY hacking accounts. And if by chance he had been able to do all that, he'd need loads of bots running to drop everything.

The one thing I want to know, is how he made up his "hit list". I was on it (under the name 1colonel1). Some thing it was just a HS list, but some accounts that ARE on the HS weren't on the list.

Lol.
