Mugger84's Quick And Easy, Casual Farming Guide

Rightey, Thought i'd add a breif guide on how i Farm. Note: It's not a power farming guide, it's a 'casual quick farming' guide tongue.gif. Anyway Here's how to go about it:

Inventory
  • 6 Law Runes (4 If you haven't completed My Arm's Big Adventure)
  • 3 Water Runes
  • 2 Fire Runes (0 if you haven't completed My Arm's Big Adventure)
  • 8 Air Runes
  • 1 Spade
  • 1 Seed Dibber
  • (Magic) Secateurs
  • Ectophial
  • 5 High herb seeds (cants, karums, snaps, rannas, lants ect) (Can do Irits if you really want tongue.gif)
Step by Step instructions

~ Teleport to Trollhelm (2 Fire, 2 Law). Follow the path and plant your seed in the patch on the top of the stronghold. I advise using your best seed here as they will NOT become diseased or die. Note: You must have completed My Arm's Big Adventure to access this patch, so if you have not done it, forget it tongue.gif

~ Teleport to Ecto (Ectophial), Repeat Step One.

~ Teleport To Falador(1 Law, 3 Air, 1 Water), bank, get axe and tree sapling plant, use these in the Tree patch in the park, re-bank the logs/root/herbs but keep axe and withdraw fruit tree sapling. Then, follow the route and plant your herbs.

~ Teleport To Ardy(2 Law, 2 Water), Pickpocket Guard for 60gp (30gp with dairy gloves), travel to Brimhaven, plant a fruit tree, bank if you need to, then proceed along the route to the herb patch to plant your herbs smile.gif

~ Teleport To Cammy(1 Law, 5 Airs), follow the route and plant your herbs, then go to the bank, widthdraw your sapling and plant a second fruit tree in the patch to the east.

~ Repeat this process every 80 Minutes (I often do it after each slayer task, works well that way). Note: Trees take a day to grow so you don't have to re-visit them unless you wish to make sure they haven't got diseased or died.

I hope this small quick guide helps smile.gif I find the farm run a nice break from whatever i'm doing and fairly useful for making your own potions. It's also half-decent Farming XP smile.gif

Happy Farming!

Nice. Simple.

I actually used this route myself and found it quite easy. Maybe state that people should use their most valuable herb with My Arm's patch because there is no chance on infection there.

Otherwise, simple and easy.

I personally just plant trees. I recently tried the powerfarming guide on RSC, but it was such a pain and took forever so I ditched it. I might try this.

I have tested it and overall, it is not a good idea to use your best herb on the diseasefree patch. That is because even though the herbs won't die, you will only ever get a max of 4-5 using Secateurs and supercompost. I'd rather use supercompost on a normal patch and have a chance of getting 5-15 of the herb.

Otherwise, good guide, it's what I do.

Hmm, thanks for the guide. I found like many others to just plant trees.
I used to do herbs and allotments, just they don't get the right amount of exp you really need when you hit a certain level.

Nice guide though smile.gif

I used to do that in my farming days. I gave up on the skill, however. Herbs can make you a fortune in RuneScape. They are fast and easy money tbh.

I made millions on farming back in the old days when it actually paid off. Too many people heard of it and ranarr prices fell while seed prices grew.

I did the same thing as you mentioned there (except the trollheim bit). Its great for packing in a lot of farming into a short space of time. Sometimes I saved laws by walking from catherby to ardounge (needed to use the catherby bank anyway, so just made it into a trip).

George's Farming Tip: [B]ALWAYS USE FARMER PAYMENTS FOR TREES AND FRUIT TREES[/[b]
- don't bother with herbs, allotments etc.
Since you do not want to be losing your magic trees to disease sad.gif (believe me i don't like losing 170k for something that can be easily avoided).
You can buy all farmer payments on the GE tbh or grow them yourself.

I also use super compost on all herbs, since I don't like it when my torstols die sad.gif It's a pain in the ass. sad.gif
