So I'm going into a second level Java class without taking the level one class. I also said I'd help a friend out with some web programming. I just need to find some online resources that will help me get used to some basic Java (I've programmed in a couple other languages, thats why I get to skip the first level class) and then hopefully I can pick it up.

I was wondering if any of you guys knew any good Java tutorials online that might help me out. I've looked at the ones provided on Sun's website, but I guess I'm looking for something maybe a step ahead of that. Thanks.

Obviously already done that. That's why I said I've used Sun's tutorials, used some other ones too, but none very advanced. Asking if anyone knows any better ones.

I might actually head over to the library around here some time to see what they've got. I just need something that can walk me through it at a decent pace and cut out basic syntax/language rules that seem to make up the entirety of the tutorials I find.

I've found the "For Dummies" books to be excellent when it comes to learning programming languages. I'm pretty sure there's a Java For Dummies book, but it'll probably be a good $40. I could get you the e-book for free though, if you'd like.

I'm trying to find the notes my Prof used for teaching java.

That's another thing though, check university/college websites for accessible notes.
