It's a RPG, basically (in my opinion) THE best series of RPG's that has ever been made.
Final Fantasy 1 - 6 had shoddy graphics but people loved it for the RPG experience and the story of the game its self. Now when they made Final Fantasy 7, it was a stepping stone for any furture RPG, it had the best graphics and best story line of any RPG before hand, and was loved world wide. So every game after has been fantastic, with this being the first PS3 game for Final Fantasy people are getting hyped up about it, since the last one was for the PS2.

Basically, FFXIII is what Modern Warfare 2 is like for the shoot 'em up people but the Final Fantasty series is much, much better imo.

Nothing But The Best

Yeah seriously. That's one of the things that I didn't like about FF9 and FF10 is once you get to a certain part the game starts to feel impossible unless you've properly leveled your characters. In FF9 (for me) it's when you get to Kuja's castle/hideout. And in FF10 it's when your on the airship and you have to fight Evrae.. It took me forever to beat that ass crack flying bumb.

I have no PS3, I have an Xbox360 and I still agree with the first paragraph of Ryan's post. It should have been a PS3 Exclusive title

But still, when it came out (Japanese), there was a LOT of hype about it, it went on for £50 etc. but then there was a lot of articles about how shallow & linear the game was, it also had a few bugs, it got reduced to about £15 very quick after release so my impression of it was that it was bad.

Well that's how it was on a Japanese viewpoint, didn't know you guys were still hyped up about it lol, seemed like old news =P

I haven't played it so I don't know at all if it's good or bad xD

The beginning of the game is indeed mostly linear, however you eventually break into an open world area with many many quests to do to keep your interest.

No kidding. FFXI definitely could've been better. I played it for a month and was like "why am I only level 25?".

It's just how the times have changed with the RPG style games, we just have to get used to it, i personally don't find it a problem.

The only thing i'm interested in FF13 is a good story line and game play, the story line is paramount to an RPG for me, if that's good then i'll love it, like all previous FF in the series.

Nothing But The Best

Take a look at Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. This was made by Square (Now Square Enix..) and the max HP/hit of any character was 255. Considering FF and this game were made by the same company, and both are excellent games (trust me, pick up a super nintendo and buy it, or check the wii store for it. Great game) it shouldn't matter a whole lot.
