As far as range gear goes, why not use a God Coif, or one of the new coifs? They're both better than the Archer Helm. What about Granite Body for melee? -------------------- ![]() ![]()

Dragon skirts are very cheap (I think only about 200k), and give much better defense than rune legs. Unless there is a reason I have not seen why rune legs are preferred, everyone who is melee should get a dragon skirt (or legs if they already have them) for this war. Also, I am not sure if it is really worth it to bring the torso...it only gives +4 str. It might be better to bring a rune defender instead. I think the +19 slash bonus is more valuable than a +4 str bonus. I guarantee if they all have rune defenders and we don't, they are going to be hitting better than us. Other than that, it is a great guide. -------------------- ![]() ![]()

Maybe have some people with high mage Veng everyone else before the war? We should also all go to the spas at the resort to get infinite run. Rob, take out the Bandos Boots in your equipment recommendations because the rules say no GWD Armor. Should we encourage people to possibly take Mystic bottom for hybridding purposes? In that case we might have to take screens of our invents beforehand if they accuse us of having more than 10 Ancient magers. -------------------- ![]() ![]()

I looked at the difference between the rune plate and figher torso. Compared to the rune plate, fighter torso gives: -20 stab +5 slash -10 crush -4 magic -13 range +4 str Since almost everyone will be using whips, the difference is actually pretty negligable between the two. With a fighter torso you are slightly more likely to be hit by mage and range, but slightly less likely to be hit with a whip, so it kind of evens out. I definitly would not recomend bringing both, because the time wasted in switching gear (which could get you KOed) is not worth the negligable benefits. Secondly, for those of us who do not have an a dfs, it might be wise to bring an anti-dragonfire pot just incase. Their rangers might be using dragonstone tipped bolts, in which case without an anti-dfs or anti-dragonfire pots you can get killed easily in three hits. Also someone may use their dfs charges to hit a person. I think the dragonfire from both the dragonstone arrows and dfs can hit over 50? Someone correct me if I am wrong on this number. -------------------- ![]() ![]()

P2P wars are pretty fast, and generally end faster than they start. We could do a DOA style attack and have the rangers take out their mages while our mages and meleers have their fun with their mages? This would eliminate their use of D-bolts while also messing with their rangers. If bringing a potion is better, the we should tell people to bring one more brew than they were intending. -------------------- ![]() ![]()

The obby shield is much much better for tanking though. -Ranging gear: Melee is vulnerable to mage, so ranging gear is important. I am bringing dimond tipped bolts. -Dragon Scimy: I highly recommend bringing dragon scimy over dds. In p2p we simply cannot allow people to tank; we need to get KOs, and this means we need to be able to effectively stop them from praying. -Super attack and Strengh pots: Definitly something you do not want to forget...pretty self-explanitory. -Antifire pot: This is something that is optional, but I think it is a wise choice to bring, because if we do not bring these and they are using dragonstone tipped bolts we are in serious trouble. -Super restore pots: I am going to be using piety through the entire war, so these are very important. -Sanfew serum: This doubles as a super restore and anti-poison potion. A good thing to bring just incase you are poisoned. -Sara brews: I am only bringing three because I am not that good at tanking in p2p. A good tanker will probably want to bring a few more of these. -Super energy restore: Generally this is a good thing to have, especially when the fight is close and all the mages have been killed. -Tuna potatoes: Recommended over sharks. -Summer Pie: Not needed, but I like to bring one for the +5 agility boost and +10 energy restored per bite. In addition I am going to bring a bull ant with tuna potatoes and put scrolls in my helmet. Colonel, I do not think that will work. By the time we get in the arena and start fighting the antifire potion will probably have already worn off. What we could do though is have maybe every fourth person bring an antifire pot, and then share with 3 others when we enter the arena? -------------------- ![]() ![]()

Have people who are able bring their BoB to carry extra food so that when we enter people can share the Anti-fire Pot and then food and be distributed. How about hybrids? I mean, they say 10 Ancients, but when about just normal magic? I'm sure a lot of us can Entangle. EDIT: I've got 40 Summoning, so I could also bring a Bull Ant, would it be better for me to use a regular Fremmy Helm in order to infuse some scrolls, or is it not worth it? -------------------- ![]() ![]()

Yes, that would be a good way to do it Colonel. I might just end up bringing 9 anti-fire pots, because I doupt people will actually bring their own. Related to this point, has anyone experimented with the use of butterflies? Are the effects added ontop of pots, or do they substitute for a pot? I am not really sure about hybriding in p2p...I suppose it could be done, but for a meleer it would be very space intensive. The best option if you wanted to hybrid would probably be to replace the ranging gear with ahrims top and bottom. Still you would have two less spaces than otherwise and would be vulnerable to enemy mages. The thing is though, because mage is so powerful in p2p, I think it is better to just have full-on mages and everyone else be set for taking out enemy mages, hence the range gear. I actually think it would be worth it to just bring the regular fremmy helm, but on the condition that you re-summon your familiar when you enter the arena. Store an extra bull ant pouch on your bull ant, and then when you enter the arena dismiss your current bull ant and then summon a new one. Mager, a d-spear might be a good idea for one of the leaders to have in order to indicate the pile, however if the mages are doing their job d-spears will not be needed and so it is better to bring a d-scimy. -------------------- ![]() ![]()
