I have only just been accepted as a trial member but i'd like to talk about why i wanted to join this clan.

I have noticed after coming back to RS a few month ago, this runescape isn't as it once was.

Places used to be buzzing with conversation/arguments/debate, every skilling spot i go to is silent even though there are lots of players there. My home world is 71, a place i once loved for a community that it seems is now dying apart from a small group, no matter where i went people were socialising and now people train in silence. I even miss the spammers of catherby fishing which i used to hate.

I wanted to join this clan because i heard that it still has a good active community going which is what i miss.

The only thing i think of to explain what has happened is that it is partly due to people botting but it can't be the whole story, any thoughts?

PS. Thanks for the welcome i have had from everybody i have spoken to and hi to anyone i havn't. wink.gif

I never really noticed it happening in-game, but I noticed it in the clan world.
Clans are less friendly to each other because they just want to look after themselves now. It's all about getting the next win. Nothing is more important than the win.

It's really sad, but I'm confident it will get better once people realise how it's become.

I know what you mean.
Everywhere on rs is quiet as hell now compared to back then.

You could prob do some dungeoneering and find some people willing to interact.

I would have to disagree, mostly.
I'd only started playing again after about 3 years. I had some really nice conversations with groups of random people while skilling, so, from my experience, that aspect of the community still exists and is still accessable. Though, there may be something to be said about how to access it, and in which case, I would agree that it may be different, possibly more difficult than in earlier days. RS does seem as though it's past its Golden Age, but I'm probably just being biased.

I totally agree with you. The thing I notice is that people used to have bad reps about being higher levels and snobs. I was always like that will never happen to me. It hasn't but the lower lvls are not friendly and sometimes down right rude.

I try to help others and often start conversations. I'm often recognized in the game from my time fishing, cooking and woodcutting. I used to tell so many random stories and play games with people to pass the time away. Now they watch TV and ignore each other.

Today, I happened to be at the bank at Castle Wars and two other random people talked about this same thing with me. I remember taking clan mates fishing and laughing our butts off about how you could get people to do funny things. Like my stripping game or the naked dock lol.

Thank you Garrett and Dallar.

You just have to initiate the conversation and the people will chat back. I always speak to people while farming. smile.gif.

I'd rather less people at bandits tbh, cbf doing armoured zombies quest atm.

Just look at W1/W2 GE. Back in the days of Falador, it was a lag-fest. Nowadays there's about 1/6th of how many people used to be there. The wilderness? Less worlds, but less people? No doubt the RS community is shrinking.
