We regularly listen to you on the fan sites, our forums, in game and, for the first time ever, face to face at our live player celebration: RuneFest 2010. Your voice counts hugely, because we know you are as passionate about playing RuneScape as we are about making it.

It’s never lost on me what an incredible privilege it is to be able to serve such a wonderful community as well as the incredible team at Jagex. I’ve had an astonishing time over the past two years that I’ve been CEO of Jagex and, during that time, have had to make some rather difficult decisions. Today, however, I’d like to ask every one of our players, past and present, for your help in making one of the biggest decisions regarding the future of RuneScape...

I regularly hear from both the community and the Jagex team that we should reintroduce free trade and the excitement of the old Wilderness, warts and all. As you know, we removed free trade and the Wilderness in 2007 to combat botting, gold farming and item scamming. Since then, we have produced new content that provides comparable gameplay and mechanics to allow increased trade limits with long-term friends; however, we are still regularly being told that something is missing from the 'good old days' of RuneScape.

We’ve been shutting down bot-makers all around the world and prosecuting people for stealing accounts, and we’ve evolved our systems to quickly detect cheating; however, we will have to accept that we will never completely eradicate cheating so long as there is an incentive and method to do so. Bringing back free trade and the original Wilderness will certainly make this a bigger issue than it is today, though I can pledge that we will never stop trying to combat it.

So, the big question is, are the passionate voices we hear on this topic truly representative of the majority of the player community or just a rather vocal minority? Do you want to see a return of free trade and the original Wilderness? If the vast majority of our players vote in favour of it, then we will do exactly that.

TBH, as much as i'd love to see it have a good effect on the clan world.
We have all this pking on pvp worlds, and people that don't want to do pvp wont change much, People who do pvp now will be the same if they bring it back (In some sense).

Unless there is some influential pvp movement in the game. I talk to mates who started after '07, and hardly any pk, they are all happy doing what they were brought up to do on this game. PvE, and PvM.

The only effect on the clan world i'd see is retired Clan members coming back and ex members coming back.

Not voting in favor of this to be honest.

Free trade limit:

Of course I'm in favor of this. I don't know a single person who would be against this for any reason. People should be able to help each other out for free if they want to, and to be honest, it takes some real stupidity to get scammed.

Old Wilderness:

Here's the deal. I like the new PvP system. I love targets, and the kills now are a good 5x the normal drops you used to get while pking. Instead of getting some rune, a neitz, and a dds (maybe 200k), I usually get upwards of 500k-1m for most of my kills in edge when I pk.

I'm in favor of returning to the old wild if they keep the stat drops/targets/pvp armor, but otherwise I'm not. I don't really see a single way the old wilderness was better except that you could pk in every world instead of just 7 or so.

There are never enough topic when it comes to this.
I don't care if there are 20 topics about it.

The only think I'll miss about PVP worlds are the fact it is so easy to find other clans.
Now we'll have to hunt every world... a small price to pay.

switching worlds was a fun part of the experiance though, i remember logging into clans that were just logging out and logging in and walking around.....the suspense was crazy awesome, made the wild fun

They said they wont make corrupt/pvp gear discontiued, so they will have to put it in there somehow.

Well, that's where scouts came from back in the day. Everybody would log into another account and look in other worlds.

I still shiver at the thought of old wildy coming back... I need to use all of my brawlers ASAP

I'm in favor of no trade limit Obv but I like the new system all this will do is make pking harder to run into clans >.> and runescape is evolving so I'm not a fan on going back I enjoy going to the wild and being safe when needed.
