So now the entire focus of the Wilderness Guardians has become geared towards skilling? Last time I checked, most of the current Council is more inclined towards the skilling sector whilst the Warlords haven't been making much of an impact. Yet here we are electing more people that'll only contribute towards the skilling side of the clan and an already great community? While we allow the warring side to continue faltering? I don't see how this helps the clan other than turning more and more of us into farmers who are incapable of winning a war.

Excuse me if I am stepping out of line by stating the facts from a semi-spectator/non biased perspective (in regards towards favoritism in the clan) about what's currently being done, or not being done for that matter, in this clan.

Sure people turned up for the Corr war, great, we pulled more than DW did, great, but just showing up is not nearly enough. The least we could have done was set up one practice session with the other two clans to at least give us a little help during the fight with Corr. Instead we go on saying "Yeah, we're bound to lose horribly, it's expected, they can't possibly be defeated by 3 clans who don't know each other" or whatever excuse you want to use for not at least giving them some kind of a challenge. Wg, being the elder clan, could have stepped up despite the fact that we weren't the ones who set up this war, and tried to improve our chances of competing at least a little bit. Yet nothing was done about it.

My problem is not that we have been losing wars, it's that nothing has really been done to improve our warring abilities. Not even so much as a clan-wide combat competition being held to help promote improving your stats for a fight, to give the clan the best chance to win. No real practices are held to focus on the weak points of the clan in wars, such as being able to listen to commands in a fight, being able to switch from robes to rune without getting ko'd, learning how to tank the best you can, etc. Only the random "fun war" is held where people can't really improve due to the fact that everything is being thrown at them at once and it ends up becoming chaotic for them. Or they just show up not really caring about anything at all, just showing up to be there and counted as an attendee and not bothering to try to take any lessons away from a fight.

I don't see why, no offense to people currently in power though you will take offense anyways, when our skills sector and the community of the clan is flourishing and our warring sector continues to struggle and remain in this stagnant lack of improvement under the current regime, we would elect even more people to support the skilling sector and community factors of this clan when the people already in place are doing a fine job of that already along with the aid of the events coordinators?

I don't know why we don't put more towards improving the warring side of this clan when, obviously, it is the one in most need of improvement? If you are thinking about climbing higher up the Raw, why are no steps being taken to improve our warring prowess? In the state we are right now, we would stand no chance judging from our fight, more like massacre, with rank 27 LP.

Now I'm not saying that everyone should stop doing what they like doing in this game and become war fanatics. All I'm asking is for people to give back to the clan that is and has been their home in RS. Sure, some of you may have signed up for the skilling side when this clan was divided like that, but now, I think you realize, the skilling and warring sector has been merged because the clan needed both to come together in order to preserve this clan and its ways. You gotta give the best you can to the clan, in all aspects, and I feel that the efforts towards the warring side of this clan is severely lacking. Is it too much to ask you to take a day or two, each week, off from skilling and slayer to improve your combat if you can, to further help the clan in a fight? I know that there are some who do this, but they are few, we need the entire clan to try to do that. Combat levels go a long way towards winning a war as far as providing a template for victory.

But things like this as well as others that I have mentioned before, need to be acted upon in order to improve this side of the clan that is severely lacking.

The reason why I made this rant/suggestion or whatever you want to call it, is because of what I feel is not happening in this clan to prevent the further tarnishing and falling of the Wilderness Guardian name. We are already regarded as a joke by several clans out there when it comes to warring, judging from the way we are spoken about. I would love to help Wilderness Guardians regain the respect and fear in the eyes of those clans, but it has to be something that every member will work towards willingly. I'm done for now . . .

At least you can make proper sentences out of what I was trying to say.
Our community is fine.
Start giving more to the fighting sector.
I'm still angry here with my angry face angryhahs.gif.png

What is WG most famous for....

Oh, our friendly community. We have never been the 'best' at wars, so when you join.... and a week later start saying "oh community doesnt matter" you need to remember what Wg is actually abaout. We AREN'T just a warring clan, regarless of wether you only care about warring.

Put it this way, in the 'quick clan survey':

QUOTE
i acutally knew someone here tongue.gif

Funnily enough.... no mention of our warring success

QUOTE
high activity and freindly members

Oh wait.... no mention of warring success again

QUOTE
The Community, the small things that other clans dont have ; Website, Moto, friendship

Still not talking about warring?

QUOTE
ommunity, when I decided to join everyone was very welcoming, great feeling.

My point is, You are from a warring backround so your sole focus is on wether we are succesful at wars or not.... Look at what you said for your own reason for joining:

QUOTE
What stood out the most is that you guys are unique to say the least. I have never seen any other clan that puts as much into recruitment as you guys do. Plus you do things that no other clan does (ie going to Jagex Hq irl, haha). You guys seem to be the complete clan, not focusing too much on wars, or too much on skills, just right. Plus, after speaking with some of the members, this clan has a great community, better than most other clans if not all.

And that is exactly the point of WG.... We have THE BEST community in RS, nowhere else would feel right for me. Literally if I wasnt in Wg I would not be playing runescape, I wouldnt have joined if it wasnt for its skills sector and so on.

I know our warring isn't going great at the moment, but if you wish to help DON'T just rant about it.... That will solve nothing. Send leaders your suggestions, we can put them into practice wheras some of this stuff that you wrote here is just a load off bull (like the council being orientated towards skilling? we dont even have a skills council member).

You don't get my point at all . . . Suggestions have been made, things have been said, NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE yet. Ergo this forum exists for us to put forth our concerns to the rest of the clan. You forget that WG isn't just about skilling and the community. What, do you expect all of the people who are more inclined to warring to just keep losing and losing cause the rest of the clan doesn't really like fighting or doesn't give much effort into helping the clan in a fight? I could say some really bad things that would be true but I choose not to. angryhahs.gif.png

Why are we bothering with being on the Raw list if we weren't about warring and didn't care a bit about our reputation in such things?

And tbh, you can't go around calling it "The Best" when part of the clan is completely ignored, can you? I'm sure I am not the only one who is frustrated by the lack of effort on the part of some members to help improve the clan in warring, an area where we need the most improvement in.

And sorry that you seem to be one of those who don't really want to put some effort into helping this clan move forward. huh.gif But I'm not willing, even if I'm just a trial member, to just sit by and watch a clan that I like very much, flounder, without trying my best to get things to improve. Even if it means making a thousand posts like this.

Not saying that he does nothing for the clan. Just that he forced me to comment on what he has done for the warring side of this clan since he is so adamant about the community and skilling side of WG, etc. Yet he seems content to allow the warring side stay the way it is with no change to it.

So you are solely warring based?
Evil puts in twice as much to the community as a normal member does.
I think that justifies his place here.

Yeah I know, but still, look at what he does every time something is suggested about improving the warring in this clan. He shoots it down saying that "Wg is not about warring" etc etc, seemingly completely content with things the way they are. The warring side, like it or not, is part of the community as well. Is it fair that he is rather biased against it?

He likes his skilling + I have no problem in that.

You on the other hand, want to change every single person in this clan around.
I just want more ppl interested in binding in wars.
However, you yourself don't even hybrid so I'd pick up that slack.

Yeah, improve our fighting by hybriding yourself.

Oh em gee, I just picked up on 1 you haven't.

You know what? I'm one of those that could care less if we win or not. I am a skiller, first, last, and always. Yet I have been training my fucking ass off to get up to 100 cmb f2p. I've slacked off a little in the past week, and also haven't been on as much as I normally am.

Plus... What do I do around here? I read forums, check for stuff there, I talk with people, I very rarely miss saying hello to people coming in lobby, I try to help people with what I can. Do you know, that some of my friends complain... That I'm always helping people and ask me what I do for fun... Because I'm always busy.

Thanks for actually pointing out that I should pay attention to 'wins'. I'd rather be here for my friends, thank you.

Alright Zhero, Listen up.

Yes, Leaders will listen to you, Didn't I the other day?
Did I not talk to you and told you myself in an IRC Pm, that I'll do something after the war?
Right after, the Council had a Council meeting and decided that we'd have two General Council. We've only just recently promoted a Raid Leader, also on the Council Meeting, we decided that Darkzero101 would be our ultimate warlord along with Snowzak *Coughs*.
Darkzero, along with the three Raid Leaders will sort something like you have suggested, Practices before wars and so on. I TOLD you, that I'll do something, why would you post a rant the day after.

Also, you misunderstand, you saw the video, that's an outdated video:
There is no Skills Sector, There is no Community Sector. We merged into one whole clan, we decided that a while ago, only then did we flourish and won 3-4 Wars in a row.

We do not concentrate on any 'Skills' - Those Council that are being promoted are General Council that will help me with Forum Work based around warring and the community. As I said on the topic, any Council, they will get stuck into the mud, The Council don't have a specific kind of objective, they do the jobs when they are asked to, if they are asked to make practices, then they will make practices, simple as.

DZ, Rob, Glenn & Karel cover the timezones perfectly, they'll make some practice events before Wars.
While Me & the new council will decide on a Combat Competition scheme.
We've already picked on the clan we want to declare on. We're getting a RAW War soon.

Since you've already "Ranted" or "Suggested" to me personally, this post was not needed.
So please stop ranting for at least 2 weeks.

~Abs

I'm with exactly what Evil said.
I joined WG in June '07 because I loved the members, the community was and still is incredible.
The reason so many people left on D Day was because the Community was starting to decline, resulting in a mass number of core members leaving, but we pulled together, rebuilt and are now as strong as ever.

Wars are not everything. I completely disagree with the fact that we are too-skill based.
We have 2 amazing warlords and I think 3/4 raid leaders? ohmy.gif
In contrast we have 1 council member who (was) Head of Skills.
So 2/3 of our council (excluding Abs) are warlords.

Even though you're overplaying the 'bias' issue, and (from what it appears) already raised the point recently, you bring up relevant points.

I'm actually glad the skill sector is doing well. Its a first time for WG. Usually it was overshadowed and we had a load of testosterone-filled kids with no room for skilling, or even community for that matter.

WG will never be a clan with warring as its main focus, but warring is one of the most enjoyable occupations of the clan world, so it has to be done. And as I said before; if we have wars, we should have war practices. Especially when you're part of 3 clans. 3 clans who have never fought before, and will very likely have completely different fighting styles, and are not used to a war with over 90 on a side.

I remember the DS v RR+Cl+WG war. No one had set up practices, so I went about organising them as a member. Even though they got poorer turnouts than the actual war, they still helped.

Now that the clan is merged, its much more important to give community, skills, and fighting the appropriate amount of intention. Hopefuly the new council will help broaden the leadership out. Now it just needs the wilderness leaders to organise practices, even if its just CW.

War relies on skill, not chance.

Zhero, impoving of clan isnt only up to leaders, especially in so huge clans such as WG, its up to every memeber to organize events, attend events, behave good.
Clan isnt only the leader + warlords, its especially about that what can individual do to help and improve his community.

So for example if you critize that there wasnt together prep war befor war vs corr, why you hadnt organized the prep war ?
So or so i think it wouldnt help... ( even is there will be some event like that i wouldnt attend because of lack of time during lat week)

Next time instead of writing so long contribution, rather organize some event, for instance fun f2p Clan war wink.gif

.... I appreciate your effort to help WG wub.gif

This clan isn't based off soley warring. I bet more then half this clan could careless how we did in the past month in warring. We would rather know how we did coming together as a family and moving step by step to continualy have this great community. We know what we need to do as a clan and things will get done. We don't need posts every day like this to tell us that.

I have cleaned a few replys and I will close this topic, if you want to discuss it do it in a PM and not over the boards, specially regarding a rant towards the clan.

I may re-open it whenever Zhero's ban is over.
