I wrote "The Season" for my girlfriend last Christmas. The Season 09.11.09 The flakes gently drift towards their end. The piles begin to amasse, Faster, faster. Children gather 'round the fire; Aticipation at its maximum capacity. Soon, the locks of the warm prison Will be unlatched and it will once again begin. "That special time." Miles on endless miles, I gaze out to the glistening heaven of powder. The sun's reflection, an eclipse of colour for all. Snow angels, down from oblivion To each soul throughout. Caress thyself, Adorn those who ought. To have been forgotten and forgiven, To be loved and cared for, To have given and to have received. The season, our season, Christmas has come. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I Was There 09.16.09 There are doors. Doors that can be opened, Doors that can be closed. Some, though, just seem to be there. I've opened a door. Saw the picturesque world That each and every being dreams of. I was there. A door has closed, That door, the light - Diminished. Hopes and dreams now diluted. I was there. There is that door. The one door that is forever stationary. One that can be, will be. Forever and always - A mystery.
