So... it's OK for WG to organise wars at 7am for Aussies, and expect us to go.
And we do... almost all of us, many times a year.
Then for one time in an entire year, Eastern Americans are requested to get up at 7am.
Nope, too early.

Aussie dedication compared to the dedication of the rest of the world is superior.
I realise that getting up at 7am should never be expected.
I'm conflicted about the anger I feel.
I shouldn't be, but I am.

W try really hard for you guys, you know. We do it constantly.
When the 7am anniversary event came, no Americans, save Kevin, showed up.
Europeans with school, I understand. West Coasters, I understand.
I dunno. This was a one-off, and NOBODY stepped up to the plate.
Why should the Aussies bother doing it if our dedication isn't reciprocated?

I feel guilty for expecting it, I do... but you have come to expect it of us.
This was FINALLY, an Aussie-friendly time, and it was spoiled by bad attendance.
It seems like the dedication is a one-way street.

Every single time, we bend over backward to fit into your timezones, and you wont' return the favour, even if it's just a one-off.
I understand your side too. I respect your limits. But it doesn't make me any less upset.

The anniversary Day 3 will be postponed to 7am Saturday EST, so that the Europeans can make it. While I can't demand attendance, I (along with all the other Aussies) want a sign that you're willing to return a favour to us once.

EDIT: It also insults Kevin, who showed up after only an hour or two of sleep. He's from your timezone, and he wanted some of you to have his back.

Yea, it's dissapointing to see the shoe on other foot.

Considering I havn't missed a war in quite a long time, you can see why we are reacting like this.

It's like you guys have wars at 5pm, then complaining the one time we get a war at 5pm and say we cant come because it's too late.

I think the only valid reason for not showing up would be because you're getting ready for work/school. Even then, the school excuse should only work for CST and EST, as most American high schools' bells ring at around 8am.

He's got a point. As i answered in Jayson's poll, I would get up early but not sacrifice anything IMPORTANT irl for an important wg event (dates, shit like that). But he's talking true: We are not responding to the commitment that the aussies have by not trying a little bit to commit as well. I'll try my best to go to all events possible (I should make this my catchphrase).

Had an exam, did sign up explaining it all.. But then again, this isn't directed at me.

I'm not going to act the 'big-man'. I would struggle to be up for a 7am event. Normally have lectures/library, and on a day off - a lie-in is always most welcome. But, once a year isn't really an issue. I would try for WG. Especially at this time of year for Clanniversary.

Aww that's really disappointing.
I was in a uni lecture at 12, but i came rushing back so that I could join you at 1pm, but it's far better to have lots of attendees than not.

I just wish some people would consider Gene and the Staff, who put so much work into the Anniversary events every year, before they themselves decide to sleep for a few extra hours...
Gene lasted yesterday on virtually no sleep due to organising the Clan Quest. He gave us ALL of his time yesterday and it's just sad that others can't do the same for him...

Edit: I do however sympathise with the Americans. Getting up early IS a lot to ask, and we appreciate everything you are doing and have done for WG.

I woke up at 6:30am for day two events. So did many other australians. We had a really good pull to day 2. Everyone showed up. Day 3 comes along, apparently too early for most members as EST unit makes up most members. It just disappointing. I'll still be getting up at 4am for wars nonetheless.

I did have the alarm set on my phone, but for some reason when I have my phone in my bed (I text until I fall asleep lolz), the alarm never wakes me up.

Sorry about that..

Not going to lie, what did it for me it was the type of event. If it was a war I most definitely would have woke up in time to attend. The fact that with these events I honestly had little to no interest in was a big factor for me not wanting to wake up.

I'm just being honest. Don't hate :<

If I didn't have school, I would have woken up and been there. I, however was grasping my last minutes of sleep before my mom woke me for me to get ready for school.

Fucking lolz, you pick 7 AM MONDAY morning when people are either getting ready for school or at school already. Not sure how you expect most of WG to be telling their mom (most likely) that they going to scape before school starts.

If YOU hadn't fucked up and had to push the Anniversary back yet another week it would have been held on MLK day. The day when most Americans don't have school/work. You're attendance would have been much higher then.

Your whole topic is hypocritical and insulting. You want people at 7 AM before school. Fair enough, say they might have 30 minutes at max then assuming their school is late (mine started at 7:22). You want people to get up early for 30 minutes? I'd love for you to find an American who can spend 2 hours in the morning BEFORE school to play Runescape.

Also, if you had actually planned and been prepared and held the Anniversary in December more people would be able to attend because it would have been Winter Break. If you had done that I probably would have attended all the Anniversary events as I have for the past 2 years but this year poor planning has led to poor performance with no one but yourself to blame. Don't take it out on Americans just because you messed up.

I just went back to school this week from winter break, my first class is scheduled to start at 7:15, there's no way I'm going to miss a class unless absolutely necessary (i.e. sickness that may cause death), especially not for a RuneScape event. Sorry, life comes first.

I never thought I'd say this, but, I agree with everything QuikDrawNoob has said.

In regards to this, I went to bed super late last night, at 3:00am my time, when the event was at 4:00am. I had tried to stay up but I before too tired. I ended up getting very little sleep as I got up early for exams today and the such.

I'm west coast, I'm exempt from this. >.<

Joe do you realise that every single Sunday war is a Monday morning for us?
You take that for granted, so I'll enjoy my lovely sleep-in.

Just because Joe thinks that doesn't mean the rest of us don't appreciate it.
I simply cannot get up that early. I can stay up that late (on Fridays and Saturdays) but because I go to school it's something I can't do.
A couple years ago I used to get 3-4 hours of sleep a night and I was an emotional wreck. It dropped my grades, etc. it's just not something I can do.

When you guys do show up, I appreciate that so much because you attending kind of covers for say: me not attending.

However, Gene and Josh, etc. feel free to sleep in. We're all human.

I woke up early countless times in grade 12, on school days.
Prime example of what this whole topic is about tbh.
