If it isn't a rule it should be. Do you have a problem with having another channel open? Kinda getting pissed off with the amount of people that aren't in there, and then wonder what is going on. Example: I logged on a few days ago and someone immediately said to me: 'George, #wg' That, in my eyes, is exactly the same as saying that we are raiding in the lobby.... because everyone knows that we only require people to be in there (at the moment) for wars, raids.... If you see someone has joined the lobby say something like Hello Rachy, join us in #wg. Not only does this get everyone in the habit but it is less noticeable if it is all the time being done. Nearly every time I'm on nothing happens in there, not even a word spoken. Years back it was at least as active as the lobby. So is it a real problem for you to be in there? If noone talks in there, Robbiebot still reminds you of upcoming events.
