Requirements: You MUST be active. You MUST be willing to make one event a week. I would like someone willing to do Monster related events and maybe some type of pvp practice things. This position consists of not only hosting and attending events but keeping all attendances and recaps up to date along with holding a Half-Op position in the IRC channel. You will be a moderator on our forums as well. The applications will be open until, Monday, February 21. . Once the applications have closed the candidates will be considered by Council along with the help of the current staff. After discussion the result will be posted within one week. Make sure you are committed to the duties posted above before you apply. The Form for Applying: This form is the basic format to fill out your application. Be serious, this is not just a simple duty. It is one that requires constant dedication throughout your service. Post your application here on this topic!
Good luck to all those who choose to apply. Event Leader is NOT a position to take lightly. You will more than likely get abuse from members for random crap. If you can't take pressure, Event Leader is not for you. We do hold our event leaders accountable to hosting weekly and managing the Combat Skill of the Week and the Skill of the Week. Council is always available to help in tough situations. -------------------- ![]() Thank you Garrett and Dallar. “The day soldiers stop bringing you their problems is the day you have stopped leading them. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() IRC Nickname: Mobifon Group: Clan Friend Posts: 65 Member No.: 1385 Joined: October 17, 2008 Total Events Attended: 10 ![]() ![]() ![]() | Application for Event Leader Name: Mobifon Join date: 9th of January 2011 Time zone: GMT +1 What do you have to offer as an Event Leader and makes you more qualified than other people applying for Event Leader? Applying for something, being it a job or a virtual position, it's important not only to know your strong sides, but also the ones you can improve. This can be attitude, activity, conflict handling and negotiation. Knowing your weak sides, makes you stronger at handling them, in my point of view. For example a very weak side of me, is having two jobs - making my time on runescape very limited. The things I have to offer as an eventleader is a serious attitude, and a open heart to any member, privately and discretely. Old events <-- Some that have been forgotten, and is now only being done once a year. In summary, here's what i'd like to offer as an Event Leader.
The category of my events will most likely be focused on two things:
Monster running Need combat XP? Dont need combat XP, but need cash? Well, here's a nice deal, for both those situations. A quick example could be Blue Dragons. Don't you just love killing them, but hate banking them? Why don't we work in pairs, split the profit. One person kills, one person banks. - in the end they split the profit. Quite simple, and quite efficient - if you're too lazy to bank ![]() Another idea could be to work in increments of 4-8 Let's take an example: 6 people kill blue dragons for 1 hour nonstop. - and 2 people collect (Possibly with a BoB) A blue dragon takes 25 seconds to respawn, and the time killing it will vary - Let's take 50 seconds for 1 blue dragon as an example here: 3600 seconds an hour 3600/50 = 72 dragons per hour 6 people killing = 432 Dragonhides and Bones per hour Selling the items: 432 Blue Dragon Hides @ 2500gp = 1,08m 432 Dragon Bones @ 6500gp = 2,894m Total: 3902k Divided by 7/8 people = 557/487k per hour - per person Not to mention the huge amount of charms the killers will get. Oh, and combat xp is always good. Weekly boss hunting This already excists - why not keep doing it? Snowball fights A fun, and easy way to get some cash. Each player that participates brings 25k to their inventory, and loads the rest with ashes or rune essence. Mind runes and air staff aswell. Teaming is of course allowed - Friends is an important thing - loners should realize this. The idea for this event is either to make two teams, duels, or free for all - Variation is an important thing when making a recurring event. Much like the anniversary event. Last man standing gets the spoils, and a shiny title as the heartless snowman. This event will take place at either a common F2P war place, or a woody area. It's not the person with the most friends that will win this event, it's the person who knows how to hug objects that will. This event will happen once every second week. Agility events. As said earlier, the focus areas are mainly F2P warring, but that doesn't mean agility doesn't play a huge role in the P2P wars. - Therefore we must train, to run better! This will be a weekly/monthly event Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you inactive? A few weeks in school, in another country. Most likely all of it. Is there anything else you would like to say? As earlier mentioned in the application post, the position has a tendancy to make players hate you. I'm already used to this, I was a SuperGameOperator (SGO) on the online browser game called OGame - During this I had to ban people that were my friends - doing this makes the upset. (Yea, really, it does) One problem with leadership is a tendency to start strong, then fade out into inactivity. Will you promise to uphold your duties continuously throughout your service to the best of your ability? I have no intention on starting out strong, but rather a steady flow of continuous events. -------------------- ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() IRC Nickname: Dallar Group: Event Leader Posts: 1899 Member No.: 1957 Joined: July 16, 2009 Total Events Attended: 137 ![]() ![]() ![]() | Application for Event Leader Name: Daniel // Dallar RSN: Dallarsaurus Join date: Joined the 11th Feb 2011 but I have been a member of WG since 2007. Time zone: GMT+1 What do you have to offer as an Event Leader? I have everything to give and I feel I haven't shown anything yet. Event Leader will put me in a position where I can work to show what kind of dedication lurks within me. I have fantasy and the courage to present new ideas which I'm sure will work great with WG. Apart from being innovative I also enjoy keeping up old traditions. We have a fantastic event catalogue from which I can find some good events to host aswell. I have had the privilege to be an Event leader before and the response from fellow clan-mates from my time as EL has been very positive and still means alot to me today. I know my way around this rank in WG and I know how to handle the attendance point system, the forums and the responsibility of having a staff-leader rank. I am very humble in my approach ESPECIALLY when it involves other members. I'll work very hard to ensure that members get what they crave for. - with great power comes great responsibility - Furthermore I'm good with people and I'm good with people that I don't know. I think it's important that we encourage ourselves to be more open to the outside and this counts alot especially if you are staff member. My quality is without a doubt competitions. I love hosting ongoing events where members for the fun of it can compete with eachother. The quality of these events are the opportunity to host an event where everybody can participate no matter what time of the day it is. It will involve alot of members and will therefore be much more fun to do. I love hosting these big, well-advertised events and I enjoy how much they bring people together which is the essence in hosting events in my honest opinion. I am also very creative with visuals. I strive to make my topics look good with the help of Photoshop. I'm quite good with Photoshop and I have done alot of work for WG with it. Of course I'm not Samurai-JM but I do my best! I am addicted to Runescape (sad but true) which means loads of my spare time is dedicated to WG and RS. In the future I'm attending school again soon but it will only be for 3 months and I bet 10USD that you won't notice me attending this. After that I'll be working at an electronics store but it's not going to affect me either - I promise to officially announce whenever I get busy in real life. I'd like to share some of my own events that I hope people would take an interest in doing some day: Drop of the day Basically I will launch this and then people will have 24 hours to get the most insane drop they can. The item will then be valued and the person with the highest valued item will win. I think the rewards will be extra attendance points. It's not really that big of a deal but it encourages to train! Survivorman Survivorman is a NON-PVP event which takes place wherever you want. It's not allowed to use your bank or GE to complete this event. In a certain amount of time (Let's say one hour) it's up to you to earn the highest amount of GP. The way you make them is your decision (If it's fishing, mining, runecrafting etc).. You'll have to find the tools needed for gathering the resources (You're not allowed to get the tools from the bank either) At the end we meet up at Varrock and then we go to the Grand exchange and sell what we've collected. The person with the highest amount of GP wins. The Wilderness Guardians Iron man challenge You start out in Lumbridge. I will start the race with a count down. When the race starts you follow the route on the maps posted below. You are not allowed to use teleport spells for this and you are not allowed to get the resources from the bank or GE. Throughout you will face 5 challenges (Speed, Agility, Mining, Woodcutting and Fishing) The first person to complete this race wins. Here's the route: Race starts at Lumbridge From Lumbridge > Mining Ground east of Melzars maze. Mining ground > Falador bank Falador bank > Catherby fishing spot Catherby fishing spot > Catherby Bank Catherby Bank > Maple forest north of Camelot Maple forest > Camelot bank Camelot bank > Barbarian Course ![]() ![]() First person to complete to Agility course wins (There will be put watchmen at the 4 challenges to make sure that you are doing what you're supposed to do. When you're done gathering resources at the different locations you can't proceed before you have shown your full load to one of the watchmen. When your inventory is full you can go to the banks on the route to store them and get the new tool required for the next challenge) How you gear up for this is totally up to you (I suggest weight reducing equipment) Clue scroll hunters We mass in world 27 in our best fighting equipment. Then we set off to collect clue scrolls. This works the same way as the drop of the day - the person with the best clue scroll reward will win and will be rewarded with extra attendance points. It encourages to train and has the ability to grant you WEALTH! I will make a thread where people can submit their clue scroll pictures. The pictures has to include both date, time and you will have to say something specific ingame for it to be approved. I think it would be fun. Minigolf Tournament! This is extremely fun. We will have a GRANDE minigolf tournament in WG where I'll get as many to attend as I can. Minigolf is a fun and relaxing game that can be played on the web. We will then hold a tournament that streches over a long period of time. It's very fun.. Something I hosted in Lux Aeterna while I was there and it was a great success. Here's a link to the game itself. It's very simple and easy to do! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzE2Xj-L4gA Ultimate Slayer Challenge! This is the Dallarsaurus speciality. I hosted this over a year ago and it was a great success. Tricksy and stokenut had a fierce fight reaching the top. Both achieved over around 2 mil exp in the slayer skill in less than a week. It was insane. Here's the recap: http://www.wildernessguardians.com/forum/i...showtopic=15412 I will definately make sure that we get a part two of this if I manage to get the rank. Basically you will sign up to compete in getting the most slayer experience (This also get's combat experience ;-)) in a limited ammount of time. I am planning on expanding the competition with drop-rewards, combat skill achievements, most effigies dropped etc etc.. It was my best event ![]() What puts you above other people applying for Event Leader? *I am organized - I keep my promises and I keep the deadlines I make. I will make sure that my clan-mates will get their attendance points ASAP. *I am focused - I won't host an event where I know nothing about it's content. I will always make sure to know what it's about so I can help people who needs it. For example if people don't know to gear up for boss-hunting events I will make sure they find out. *I am cooperative - If people have an idea for an event I will be happy to help them organize it. I will also offer my service in making templates for event hosting if people will need it. I think it's important that leaders do their best in forfilling their members need. *I'm friendly - I can handle disputes in our chatrooms without having the ability to kick their butts out of there. I respect the people behind their avatars and I'll treat them like I want to be treated. I love having fun and I like when people can have fun joking with eachother but I will be consequent if someone get's too smart. *I am creative - Whether it's Runescape, Photoshop, video-editing or in real life. I like to design, form, create or contribute my ideas and use it in practise. *I'm Ex-EL - I know the rank. I have had it before and the only reason I couldn't maintain the rank is because I was forced to step down because of real life issues. I having and taking responsibility for people. I like leading.. It's in my nature. *I am active - I am always hanging around meaning that you can contact me whenever I'm needed. Ingame I get things done instead of wasting my time. I set goals for myself and I will get them done. I think it's important to show an interest when you are leading. Inactivity often leads to shittalk, trolling and lot's of unusual hate. I wanna do my best to prevent that won't happen by keeping WG occupied. It's not healthy to be slumbering. *I have ambitions - I'm hoping to get more members to attend events. This can only be done by doing something extraordinary like coming up with new events and ideas that'll make people want to participate. I mentioned my love for competitions and I'll make sure that WG will get more of that if I get elected. I'll help Kevin sort out the Csotw and the Sotw seeing that he is the only one managing them at the moment. I will do something about the attendance. I will litterally LIVE in the recaps section where I will make sure that people gets their points on time. It's nagging me that this sometimes fail. But I hate to try put myself above other people. I don't think that I will do alot better than any other applicant but I have some ideas that I hope and think you would like. The reason for applying for this rank is because it's the only rank where I can do a great job. I'm horrible at leading raids and I'm not comfortable with a council rank - yet. In all my time in WG I have dreamt of this rank. I got it once and it was friggin' awesome working with the team back then. Unfortunately something terrible happened irl and I had to step down. It wasn't my intention but I couldn't change the fact that I needed a break. This is my opportunity to get back and I will seize it. But I'm not better than my fellow applicants. I just have my ideas of getting around the rank and I hope you like what you read. Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you inactive? School from the 14th of March til the 16th of June Vacation from the 27th of June til the 3rd-4th of July Work after that.. No problem! ;-P Is there anything else you would like to say?Consider this application because I mean everything with it. I have the best intentions with WG and I will do my best to serve you as EL. I feel I have so much to give to the community. I am not a warring person - no. I'm a community-minded guy who takes an interest in making sure that people has fun with whatever they do in life. I have been there before so I understand if you pick someone else than me but I'm sure that you won't be dissapointed in the efforts I have planned to put in this rank. I am only a trial guardian but my experience here reaches far beyond that. Last and not least best of luck to all who applies. One problem with leadership is a tendency to start strong, then fade out into inactivity. Will you promise to uphold your duties continously throughout your service to the best of your ability? I’ve been in WildGuard for quite a while now and have always played the ‘bench’ role. I’ve sat back and taken so much from this clan – which simply can only be regarded as lazy. It’s happened for too long, and it’s time for me to give this clan something back. I want to, and so know I will do. I always achieve my goals, and providing I’m given the chance, I guarantee a long commitment to the Event leader position. I’ve sat back through countless application processes for practically every role in WG. Waiting for the right time for me, when I know I will be able to give 100% commitment. This time is now and I’m ready and fully prepared for it. I have a lot of time, patience, motivation and commitment to this clan. Although this is a very strong statement to put: I feel I can continue from where Markenzie left off. Mark was very active and devoted to his position for the most part. I believe that I can also give as much as he gave back to this great clan. I love WG, and want to see it keep delivering strong events to it’s members. WG needs imaginative Event Leaders, someone who can think up good events. Are you this person and have you thought of any events already? (If so please name and describe them). With Orthux currently in position as EL, I do not feel that this creativity need stands so strongly. David is always coming up with (arguably), the most creative events I’ve seen since my stay in WildGuard. I do believe however, that with Markenzie resignation, there is a need for more monster hunting events (WHICH I LOVE). Firstly, there is a need to continue with the same weekly trips he held - although I would make one little tweak from his conventions. There would be no rotation of bosses – as to put it simply – if a certain boss is voted for multiple weeks in a row, it’s what the public want (and so I would deliver). This plan runs beside my third point below. Secondly, I would like to admit one of my self-challenges. For some time now, I have been trying to collect ALL the boss dropped rare items. I still have a lot of screenies to take (sometimes I am too excited and don’t take it), and hence am always willing to boss hunt. Not just to the big 2 however, but to ALL. When people ask for a certain spontaneous boss trips, I am almost certain I will be up for one (when available). Thirdly, I like the idea of a ‘Bounty-Hunter’. Each week, a target will be set (a certain drop from a boss in the game, Eg. – Bandos Chestplate). Then, within a defined period (one week), members who sign up are required to get the loot as a drop and take a screenshot (with the date typed in RS chat for proof). Alongside this, there will be a trip to the event (With this example, I would host a Bandos Massacre). Giving all members a chance for the drop, who also attended the event. However, members are allowed to get the drop outside the event (encouraging boss hunting –> delivering more GPs to our members -> Allowing more raid gear ![]() The rewards will be in the Gp gained from acquiring the loot, the experience gain from boss hunting (combat levels ![]() As a little final point, I am always competiting (with strong XP gains) in CBSoTW and SoTW, and am willing to take over if needed. I’ve already helped with the starting of the XP counter before. I realise this answer does not argree with the question, but monster hunting was Markenzie’s commitment. With him leaving as EL, I think this is the hole that needs filling in WG. What puts you above other people applying for Event Leader? The most vital ‘head start’ I have over most other members in WG, are my strong relationships with all the current EL’s. I am great friends with Danny and Orthux, holding many conversations with them on Skype most days (sometimes all day errrr’ day). Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you inactive? I will have 2 weeks of exams within this 6 month period. However, as with my last exams, I always maintain a strong commitment to events. I managed to attend 2 normal events, and 2 wars in January whilst facing my last batch of exams. Up to these exams, I just have my normal 2/3 hours in lectures a day. After exams, I have NOTHING. I will be returning home and beginning the dreaded ‘Job Searching’! Milking as much time as I can without work ![]() Is there anything else you would like to say? Just simply: Good luck to all who apply, there are already some VERY strong applications submitted. There are a lot of good choices and if I’m not chosen, I know you’ve made the right decision. No hard feelings ![]() One problem with leadership is a tendency to start strong, then fade out into inactivity. Will you promise to uphold your duties continuously throughout your service to the best of your ability? Of course I do. To make an application for a position in WG means a lot to me. This is my 1st ever application, and I 100% am dedicated to it. -------------------- ![]()

I have to offer my free time in the computer ENTIRELY to WG. Everyone knows that life is hard. I didn't, until a couple weeks back - where i started to go to school at 5am and getting back home on the sleep time. So now i have to dedicate all my weekdays time to school and studying. That means i will not be very active, BUT when i'm at the computer all you will see are notices in IRC about my events coming up. I seriously have to be honest about the second part though. I believe that i would be a great event leader, but I just... I simply don't know how to explain. I just feel it. I know this sounds stupid but it's the way I see it. WG needs imaginative Event Leaders, someone who can think up good events. Are you this person and have you thought of any events already? (If so please name and describe them). I have read the events planned on the other applications, and I think they are really good. But in my mind we should have something that actually helps the clan(not that an event can't be fun), something like, maybe, group questing. I myself haven't finished the quest which grants you the infinite run spa thing, so these kinds of quests would be done in an event. Other than that, some exploring events would also be useful - go in the wildy with no gear, break into groups and start mapping the multicombat zones (someone has already done this and posted a map in the forums, but it'd be better to see it by yourself, getting used to it). Monster hunting event is my favourite, i'd host it every 20 minutes i get of free time when I'm getting out of school early if I could, but I can't. ![]() Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you inactive? As i mentioned, there is my school which WILL take a lot(if not all) of my weekdays time. But in june (or july) I'll have a 20-day vacation which makes a bit of a difference ![]() Is there anything else you would like to say? Yes. I'd like to thank markenzie1 for his friendship and really good example of an event leader. I will try my best to be an event leader like him, should I turn into one. ![]() One problem with leadership is a tendency to start strong, then fade out into inactivity. Will you promise to uphold your duties continuously throughout your service to the best of your ability? Yes. I have a small time available on the computer, so I try to make that a really good time, seeing that i can't have much of it ![]() -------------------- SEX. Now that I got your attention, please read my post.

WG needs imaginative Event Leaders, someone who can think up good events. Are you this person and have you thought of any events already? (If so please name and describe them). - KBD Swarming (Everybody takes 1 weapon and nothing else, we go in to try to kill the KBD with what we have person with less returns wins) - Kalphite queen killing (What the name suggests) - Tag the leader (1 person wears armor in the wilderness, everyone else has to find that person(The leader) and kill him. get his drop and the killer becomes the leader to get hunted) - Foodless War Practice (War gear and war practice without food to see who the ultimate tank is. Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you inactive?: Not really, Unless I become f2p again, at which point I'll quickly save up and get p2p again. Is there anything else you would like to say?: I know my activity in WG as of late has been lacking but I can assure you it would not be the case here. WG is my home and I would do everything in my power to provide a lack of boredom for all it's members. I also understand that having a staff rank comes with a lot of responsibility and I'm fairly certain I can handle that. In the event I do not get this, I wish all the best of luck to whoever gets Event Leader. One problem with leadership is a tendency to start strong, then fade out into inactivity. I have an unlimited amount of time on my hands, I am completely dedicated to wg, I have constant access to the internet so I will always be able to attend events and always be able to step in for another leader if they cannot host, I fancy myself as quite creative with constant ideas popping into my head (had one on the toilet not 5 minutes ago), my previous experience in leading (sports team and school) had given me knowledge on how to approach people more gently about certain topics but also how to handle a large group of people. I'm certain that being part of and being friends close friends with "the aussie unit" will get them more event active, while maintaining their excellent pvp activity. I will be revamping markenzies weekly "monster hunt", as that was a good event and many members were making bank, by editing his guides or making my own, having it as weekly event again. I will be hyping CSOTW and SOTW more and participate in it every week, even if I'm not a high level skiller. I will be recaping after every event straight away and updating attendance too, I know a lot of members show their attendance count as a sign of their dedication to WG. I want to bring fun into the events, make people gain levels and bank, or neither, but have fun while they are doing it, thats what events are all about, strengthening the bond of the WG community which makes us awesome. A stronger community makes a stronger warring clan. I beilive all these attributes and previous experience make me more qualified than the other members applying. WG needs imaginative Event Leaders, someone who can think up good events. Are you this person and have you thought of any events already? (If so please name and describe them). I am an imaginiative person. I am a very passionate fan of the already created minigame Castle Wars so I will be making one of these events eventually and it will be hyped. As previously mentioned I thought about a event on the toilet less than 10 minutes ago; The Mole. This idea is not fully developed as I'm still trying to convert it from TV show to RS but basically we have the members attending and out of all of them one is the mole, we do events such as the fishing trawler or castle wars, pretty much anything team based and one person has to sabotage this event. That person has to be subtle and will be picked at random. Everyone attending must vote at the end of the event as to who they think the mole is, if you guess correctly you win a prize! if less than 40% (might change) guess the mole correctly the mole gets a prize! This is not a money making event unless you get it right or are very, very sneaky. I have other ideas such as group dragon killing at iron/steels or greens on high populated worlds, at the moment dragon bones are going for almost 7k each and can drop hard clues/visage, with a highly populated world and the security of your clan mates to bless you, many lower members or not as rich higher leveled members can make lots of money from this in an hour and can develop skills to do this on their own. House parties! Many of our members have 99 construction and I will be trying to arrange time with them to have a house party in their uber awesome house. Their will be prizes of course. We could do anything from hide and seek or any of the minigames in the POH. Is there anything coming up in the next 6 months that could make you inactive? No Is there anything else you would like to say? Whoever gets this position, please make aussie friendly events sometimes, even if I don't get it I would still like to attend events. One problem with leadership is a tendency to start strong, then fade out into inactivity. Will you promise to uphold your duties continuously throughout your service to the best of your ability? I not only promise to do this but I promise to report back to council with my progress every week/fortnight if they see fit, to show them that my activity is not slumping and that I am doing something progressive and positive for WG. -------------------- A Revolution without dance is a Revolution not worth having at all Lightbulbs die my sweet, I will depart
