You said it yourself. If you care THAT much about this clan, keep trying hard. Don't just rage-step-down after a single war. I am saying this because i don't know what it's like to be a raid leader. I don't know how hard it is to have the entire clan on your own hands sometimes. I do know, though, that if thomas edison stopped working on the creation of the lightbulb because his crew wasn't working as hard as he was, we probably wouldn't have lamps in our houses.
