Time for this again neko2.gif

In order to maintain order with all scheduled events, raids and wars, allow me to outline all of the major timezone changes.

_____________________________________________________

On Sunday, March 13th, 2011, DST begins in the USA and Canada.
With this change, EST becomes GMT -4, CST becomes GMT -5, MST becomes GMT -6, and PST becomes GMT -7.
(Basically, the USA and Canada go forward an hour.)

On Sunday, March 27th, 2011, DST begins in all of Europe (and other minor areas).
With this change, GMT (UK, Spain, etc.) becomes BST (GMT +1), CET (Netherlands, Sweeden, France, Germany, etc.) becomes GMT +2, and EET (Finland, Greece, Turkey, etc.) becomes GMT +3.
(Basically, all of Europe goes forward an hour.)

On Sunday, April 2nd, 2011, DST ends in New Zealand, Southern Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, and Australian Capital Territory.
With this change, AEST becomes GMT +10.
(Basically, NZ and East Australia fall back an hour.)

____________________________________________________

What does all this mean to me?

Apart from knowing what time it is in real life when these changes occur, these DST changes will affect the times on WG events, specifically for Eastern Australians and North Americans. All (weekly) events will use GMT as their base time (except Aussie raid, which will maintain it's normal Aussie time).

North America + Europe time relationship:
Until Sunday, March 13, 2011, there will be a 5 hour time difference between EST and GMT.

On Sunday, March 13, 2011, there will be an 4 hour time difference between EST and GMT.

On Sunday, March 27, 2011, there will be an 5 hour time difference between EST and BST.

Europe + Australia time relationship:
Until Sunday, March 27, 2011, there will be an 11 hour time difference between GMT and AEST.

On Sunday, March 27, 2011, there will be a 10 hour time difference between BST and AEST.

On Sunday, April 2, 2011, there will be a 9 hour time difference between BST and AEST.
__________________________________________

And there you have it.

For other minor timezones, reference this to find what date your territory switches to or from DST. Note: not every country in the world observes DST!

If you have any questions, please ask! I am very confident in my knowledge of timezones and Daylight Savings Time.

Thank you Garrett and Dallar.
“The day soldiers stop bringing you their problems
is the day you have stopped leading them.
They have either lost confidence that you can help them
or concluded that you do not care.
Either case is a failure of leadership.”
